Chapter 4727: Can’t Shake Them Off

“Hey, little girl, wait for us!” A loose cultivator waved at her with a friendly smile. “It’s a long way to go, so let’s chat for a bit.”

“Little girl, where did you come from? Your footwork is truly exquisite. Who is your master?” Another loose cultivator asked, surprise evident in his voice as he stared intently at her swift and constantly changing steps. He was frankly astonished; this young girl was so incredibly fast that he couldn’t even discern how her footwork flowed or transitioned.

“This little girl is no ordinary girl!” exclaimed a third. “All of us almost missed her entirely. Tell us, who is your master? And what is the name of your impressive footwork?”

Yue’er, the subject of their curiosity, simply glanced at them with a playful smile, a hint of mischief sparkling in her eyes. “I won’t tell you~” she declared cheekily.

As she spoke, she suddenly accelerated, her speed increasing even more dramatically than before. In the blink of an eye, she had effortlessly pulled away from them. She even turned back, her small frame silhouetted against the horizon, and made a funny face at them. They were so utterly stunned by her sudden burst of speed and playful taunt that they stood frozen for a moment. Then, she shot forward again, moving so rapidly that she appeared to be almost flying on a sword, leaving them trailing far behind.

“Tsk, tsk, her footwork is truly exquisite,” remarked one of the lone cultivators, a glint flashing in his eyes and a satisfied smile spreading across his lips. “I can’t even guarantee that I could catch up with her if we were to compete solely on footwork. I genuinely want to discover where this little girl came from. Who is her master? She’s so young, yet so incredibly powerful!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he gathered his energy, sweeping his sleeves to pull his mount back into his spatial storage. Then, with a surge of power, he swiftly chased after the small, receding figure in front of him. This was Shen Seventeen, a formidable and determined cultivator, now fully engaged in the pursuit.

“It seems that Shen Shiqi is serious,” another cultivator noted with a grin. “Well, I have nothing else pressing to do, so let’s follow and see what unfolds!” This individual, equally intrigued, also put away his contract beast, a loyal magical creature he had bonded with, and gathered his energy to join the chase.

When it came to footwork alone, they naturally couldn’t match the little girl’s unparalleled precision and agility. However, they possessed the significant advantage of higher cultivation levels, which meant they were ultimately faster than her in raw speed. In no time at all, the few of them caught up to the young girl. Yet, they didn’t overtake her. Instead, they cleverly positioned themselves to stay right by her side, watching her closely and examining her with newfound scrutiny.

As they observed her, a hint of genuine surprise flashed across their eyes. Earlier, they hadn’t paid much attention to her specific features, only noticing that the young girl was undeniably cute and pretty. But now, upon closer inspection, they realized something astonishing: her appearance had been subtly altered. Someone must have cast a powerful spell to hide her true face. The cute and pretty face she now presented might very well not be her real appearance at all.

The entire group was astonished by this revelation. It seemed this young girl had a significant background and was far more mysterious than they initially thought. After all, ordinary people wouldn’t resort to using such complex secret techniques to conceal their appearance. Furthermore, the person who had cast the spell must be exceptionally powerful—only cultivators of considerable skill could discern that her current appearance wasn’t her true form.

Yue’er, now caught up by the persistent group, felt her small face wrinkle in annoyance. She glared at them, a clear look of exhaustion and helplessness in her eyes. Their strength was far greater than hers, and they would definitely not be slower than her. But did these people truly have nothing better to do with their time? Why were they so determined to follow her?

“Little girl, come talk to us!” one of them cajoled, a playful tone in his voice.

“Hahaha, little girl, what’s your name?” another chimed in, equally amused by her predicament.

“Hehe, look at her,” a third grinned, observing her “bitter” expression. “This little girl with a bitter look on her face, she looks so helpless, how funny.” As he looked at her plump, pink little face, he felt an almost irresistible urge to reach out and gently poke her cheek.

Hearing the people around her asking questions non-stop, their voices a continuous stream, Yue’er’s heart stirred, and she suddenly stopped .
