CHAPTER START---

Spinner groans as he stirs awake, feeling pain wracking his body and dried blood on his face.

His right shoulder and arm stung, lingering injuries from his fight were still present.

And with each motion, his fractured bones sent jolts of pain through him.

"Huh?" he opens his eyes and looks up, seeing the Tokyo skyline below him. Taking in the sunset on the horizon, he finally notices the chatter behind him.

Sitting on the ground, thankful that he is unrestrained, he turns to see why they chose not to restrain him.

He was in Horizon Tower, at the pool he'd seen on Cellophane's social media. And behind him was Horizon, sitting on a couch with Mina Ashido on his lap.

Who Skinner recognized as 'Pinky' but without her mask or jacket. Pacing back and forth behind the couch was Hanta Sero, Cellophane, also not wearing his visor.

And the last person Skinner glared at, Itsuka Kendo, Battle Fist, also not wearing her mask.

Only Horizon seemed to care about keeping his visor on in the present company.

"What's going on?" Spinner asks, drawing their attention to him.

Mina, who was sitting on Horizon's lap, finally looked up from her phone. "When you make the announcement, my follower count will drop by a lot."

"The fact that I trusted you to act as bait should help you keep some," Horizon says. "Even after Chitose gives the full breakdown of what the plan was."

Sitting on a single seat Kendo sips her drink and nods, "I'm sure Chitose will be glad this is over, she's been getting a lot of backlash for intruding on your personal life like that, especially with how adamant you've been about keeping your loved ones safe."

Horizon shrugs. "I figured some people would figure out it was to trap someone. After all, she is too smart simply to intrude on my personal life like that.

"You were trying to trap me?" Spinner finally realizes, then glares at Mina. "You…you bi—"

SHAMBLES!

"Where did you send him?" Kendo asks.

SHAMBLES!

Spinner vomits up saltwater as he appears at the poolside in front of them, coughing up his lungs afterward.

As Spinner's lungs are burning and he's trying to breathe properly, Sero taps Horizon's shoulder.

"Do you have any connection Juzo and Shinso can use in northern Europe?" he asks.

"What country?"

"Some place called Otheon. They tracked a few accounts for the Trigger labs there."

"Otheon huh, yeah check the vault in my room here. There should be some hard copy files on some officials from that country."

Sero nods and begins walking toward Horizon's vault.

Before the girls could ask questions about that, Spinner finally catches his breath.

"How? How'd you know it would work?" he asks, desperate to make sense of this.

"Because you're a loser," Horizon says. "Losers like you that have never had pussy before will gladly throw their life away for the first girl that likes them."

"Except he's an even bigger loser than that," Mina laughs, leaning back against Horizon. "Cellophane said Toga didn't even say she liked you, so you did all of this just because she's the first girl who didn't directly reject you…so lame."

This gets both Kendo and Horizon to laugh as well, leaving Spinner lying on the floor looking up at them.

Looking at the same kind of people who have laughed at him his entire life. "And you call me the villain, from where I'm sitting, you're the monsters here…you, you're the monster here," he says to Horizon while forcing himself to sit up.

"So intense, try smiling for the camera," Mina taps the side of Horizon's visor. "It's recording after all. Maybe you should make a love confession for Toga, a proper one. If you behave yourself, we can show her it while you're locked up in Tartarus."

"You're too soft on him," Horizon says.

"They're in love. It'd be kind of cute if they weren't…them."

"Their love is impossible. Toga's dead."

Mina turns to look at Horizon.

"Yeah, those reports about her being locked up, all bullshit. I tore the information I needed out of her brain and left her melted skull on the floor, just like I'm about to do to Spinner."

Everyone is stunned to hear that. Tears form in Spinner's eyes as Mina hops off of Horizon's lap.

"You told me she was in Tartarus, that he was going there too."

"Yes, and I lied. I knew you were too…good. Too painfully heroic, you'd never have helped me if you knew how this would end."

"You should have been honest with me," she glares at him while Spinner's tears fall to the floor.

"Would you have helped me?" Horizon stands up and walks over to her, reaching out to take her hand. "Would you have helped me protect the world from these monsters? Would you have helped me put them down?"

Mina feels his much larger hand cradle hers, but she keeps looking down at their feet.

"I…I don't know. No, I would never help you do this," she lied, which he easily detected via touch.

Beneath his visor, Law smiles, releasing her hand to guide her chin gently and make her look up at him. "You were wonderful today. Now go enjoy Horizon Tower. I have messy work to do."

He nods toward the exit, and Mina begins walking away.

But a moment later she rushes back toward him and hugs him, surprising both Horizon and Kendo.

"Next time just be honest from the start," she says before walking off, with Horizon giving her ass a not-so-gentle slap. "Ouch!"

"Now you're just being dramatic," Horizon says as Kendo falls into step beside Mina.

After both girls leave, Horizon looks back at Spinner, seeing the man glaring up at him.

"Jealous?"

"I hate you."

"Hate always comes from below." Horizon shrugs and returns to his seat on the couch.

"What are you waiting for?"

In response, Horizon waves his hand, and both Hawks and President Pantu appear beside him.

Hawks looks around, spots Horizon, and immediately makes some space between them.

While President Pantu stares down at her hands, focusing on her body. "Hmm, I can't even feel the warping."

"Of course not, it's perfect," Horizon says, then he looks at Hawks who is almost ten feet away. "What, nervous?"

"I'm not fond of sharing the same air as you."

"The feeling is mutual, but u—"

"Focus please," President Pantu says. "What's the plan for him?"

"Rip the answers out of him, then act immediately," Horizon says. "I can warp to wherever his memory shows Shigaraki is and end this immediately."

"Won't work," Hawks says.

"Filthy traitor!" Spinner yells.

"Traitor? Me?" Hawks asks playfully. "I'd never betray Japan by actually working with you people," he lied, which President Pantu detected.

"Why won't it work, and can we please gag him?" Pantu asks.

Horizon waves his hand, and Spinner disappears. "Done."

"Shigaraki assumed they talked," Hawks says. "He figured they wouldn't, but to be safe, he acted as if you knew everything they knew."

"Ugh, I hate when my targets grow a brain. So any progress you made toward finding their primary base is gone?"

"Pretty much, and since you took Kurogiri off the board, they don't have an easy way to move between locations. So everything is through dead drops or quick calls, coded, of course."

"How long can you wait before informing Shigaraki that we have the information, and updating him on Toga and Spinner?" Pantu asks.

"Anything more than a few hours and he'll be suspicious."

"I'll be attacking their bases and uploading everything my visor sees, so that'll be too late," Horizon says. "But it should be fine. I'm about to raise the stakes for them. They can't afford not to have you on the inside after I make my declaration."

"And what declaration is that?" Hawks asks.

"You'll see in a minute or two," Horizon waves his hand, sending Hawks back to Pantu's office.

Now that only Horizon and Pantu were here, he looked at her. "And you're sure this will be enough?"

"You deal with the League Of Villains before you graduate UA, and when you graduate, you can move to whatever country you want. With them gone, Japan can stabilize itself without you, and your parting gift, well, we'll give you whatever you want."

"There are only two things I want." Horizon walks back to where Spinner was while warping the man back to the poolside.

Spinner blinks as his eyes painfully adjust to the light. "What?"

"Focus on me. I want to know everything you know about the League Of Villains."

"Fuck off."

"Hey now, no vulgar language on camera. This is all going online later."

"I told you, I'll never talk."

"Yeah, I know. But you see, when people think about the secrets they don't want to tell, it brings them to the top of their minds." Horizon grabs Spinner's head with both hands. "And that makes it so much easier since I don't have to process your entire worthless brain."

"ARGGHHHHH!" Spinner's blood-curdling scream and convulsing don't bother Pantu in the least as the man bleeds from every orifice.

The electricity crackling across Horizon's hands and arms connecting into Spinner's brain and flowing his memories into Horizon, and the cost of melting Spinner's brain.

Moments later, Horizon drops the smoldering corpse to the floor and staggers back, holding his head.

"Damn, he knew a lot more than Toga."

"Are you alright?"

"I'm still getting used to that backlash," he says. "But now I have everything I need to begin."

With that, Horizon taps the side of his visor once more, and begins streaming directly to his social media as he reaches his hand out.

"It's time to end the League Of Villains."

SHAMBLES!

Sunder appears floating before him, and in one smooth motion, Horizon grabs his sword and turns, taking a step to the northwest.

SHAMBLES!

Everyone watching suddenly has their vision shift, from within a massive luxury pool area within Horizon Tower to the dark and choppy seas between Japan and Korea.

SHAMBLES!

Horizon appears on the main street of Seoul, surrounded by people who instantly recognize him.

As the crowd gathers, he floats above them, looking around at the highrise buildings.

People barely manage to take a few pictures before he takes another step.

SHAMBELS!

He appears in an empty penthouse overlooking the city, empty and abandoned.

"They cleared out when Spinner went rogue. Smart."

He then turns west and takes another step.

SHAMBES!

He appears at the docks, on a large cargo ship stacked with layers of shipping containers.

With a wave of his hand, he uses Takt to tear apart the containers and hull of the ship, revealing dormant Nomu hidden within.

SHAMBLES!

He warps the crew into one shipping container, swapping them with scraps and pieces to make things easier.

Then he reaches up and closes his fingers into a fist, using dozens of empty containers and crushing them into a ball around the crew.

Not hurting them, but sealing them inside a metal sphere with just enough air holes to think about their life choices until he gets back.

"Next stop," Horizon turns northwest and takes two steps before arriving in Beijing.

Standing just above the main street, he's once again the center of attention. Hundreds of people in the busy shopping district below take pictures as he pieces together all the memories and new information in his mind.

"There," he turns to another highrise penthouse, but this time senses things inside.

SHAMBLES!

He warps into the mostly empty penthouse to see a Nomu standing there.

The moment he arrives, it wakes up and lunges at him, sharp claws trying to shred him.

SHAMBLES!

Horizon warps to the side of it, after it misses a wide slash. And punches it where the liver would be.

GAMMA STRIKE!

He pushes radiation through the Nomu's body, causing its DNA to fall apart and the creature to degenerate and die quickly.

As it's becoming a mass of irradiated meat on the floor, another Nomu barrels through the wall and attacks him.

Aiming to pierce him with a massive steel drill growing out of the mouth on its stomach.

Horizon simply warps Sunder into his hand and, using Incision, casually slashes this Nomu in two, since that's all it takes to handle a Low-End Nomu.

He then steps over that corpse into the connected room, where a Nomu is sitting on the ground.

So massive that even while its obese humanoid form was sitting on the ground, it was taller than All Might.

"So, what can you do?" Horizon asks, and in response, the entire Nomu begins glowing bright red.

SHAMBLES!

He warps forward, resting a hand on the Nomu.

SHAMBLES!

Suddenly everyone watching sees the backdrop of the star and the moon above, larger than they've ever seen before, as Horizon is in outer space with the Nomu.

With a gentle push, he separates from it as the creature detonates.

SHAMBLES!

He returns to the penthouse, as above Beijing people can see the bright red explosion that would have killed countless people.

Horizon looks down at his hand, which has a thin layer of frost on it, and flexes his fingers, breaking the ice.

"Ok Shigaraki, just for that, I'm going to make it hurt for you."

Horizon then turns southwest and takes ten steps, all the way to a remote area in Cambodia.

Arrived in the front yard of a small warehouse facility that's currently loading dormant Nomu into trucks.

"Ahh, the sun is still out here. How nice," Horizon says, appreciating that Cambodia is two hours behind Japan.

Three of the villains see him and draw their weapons, while one tall blonde woman in a grey lab coat rushes toward the dormant Nomu in their incubation tubes.

SHAMBLES!

Horizon ignores the gunfire and warps past the villains, grabbing the woman by her face and stopping her from activating the dozen Nomu.

One villain reveals his right arm, a Nomu arm transplant.

He punches forward and his right hand becomes a large whip, with what looks to be a sharp tooth at the end.

Horizon glances at him before warping away, dropping the woman on the roof of the warehouse before appearing behind the man.

He taps the man on the back, using Scan to find exactly where the Nomu and human DNA meet, since they couldn't mix there had to be some cybernetics to contain it to just his arm after all.

And seeing it, he simply used one hand to hold the man's left shoulder, while using Lasik to cut his right shoulder off, leaving the Nomu arm to drop to the floor, lifeless.

The man screams in pain for a moment before the pain causes him to black out, but by then Horizon had already warped away.

One of the other men fired a full magazine of assault rifle rounds at Horizon, operating purely on instinct, as with a clear head. He would have known better.

SHAMBLES!

All the bullets swap places with pebbles and dirt behind the man, riddling his legs and arms with bullet holes, while Horizon sees the third man flying away with two bat wings sprouting out of his lower back.

LASIK!

Horizon fires two beams of blue energy from his eyes and just barely moves his head, cutting the man's wings off along with one arm.

The man falls nearly fifty feet into the dry dirt below, likely breaking his legs and many other bones.

But Horizon turns to the scientist on the roof.

SHAMBLES!

She appears in front of him, stumbling backward and almost falling before he grabs her.

She panics and begins pleading, in Dutch, "Non-combatant! Non-combatant! I'm a researcher only!"

"A researcher?" he asks, speaking her language perfectly. "Then you are the most dangerous of them all, because you create Nomu."

"No, I only oversee the machinery, keeping them stable, no more. I don't do genetic research."

"Tch, then you're of no use to me, but wait here until I'm done copying all the data from this place."

"Yes yes! I will wait!" she nods excitedly.

"Good, hold this."

"Hold wa—AAHHHH!" she screams as Sunder pierces her chest, then he uses the blade to lift her into the air and pins her here there with the floating sword.

The blade pierced her chest, through her lung, and out through her back.

She feels the burning sensation and desperation of drowning in her blood, while gravity tried its best to pull the Naginata through her petite body by ripping apart her chest cavity.

"Gah, ah, ugh," she can't even form words as blood continuously pours out of her mouth, desperately trying to reach out and grab Horizon as he steps back.

"I cloaked Sunder in enough energy to keep you alive for a few minutes like that, long enough for me to finish up here, long enough for you to wish you took a different job," Horizon says before walking away.

Leaving the villains in so much pain they wish he'd simply killed them.

However, because he is trespassing in this country, he cannot simply kill people without some measure of approval from the governing body.

Therefore, the only reason they are suffering, is because Horizon is following the rules.

Because that's what Heroes do…
