MMORPG: RISE OF THE PRIMORDIAL GODSMITH
Chapter 1376 - 1376: Fighting Khalamitax (1)Roaaaarrrr!!!
Sensing the wyvern’s aura flare up as it roared with all its might, Malutar and the three other guild leaders quickly tensed up as they understood what was going to happen next.
“Frontlines, all on defense!” Malutar shouted towards his guild members, with the other three guilds swiftly following suit.
“Vanguards, defense!” Thankfully, Valyr was able to quickly understand what was going on, only lagging a brief moment behind the other guilds as they mounted their defenses.
Then again, even though his guild hadn’t been able to experience the final battle against the red wyvern during the group’s second attempt, the young man still knew that it would attack them sooner or later.
Swoosh!
Bang!
Carrying far greater weight than ever before, the wyvern’s tail swept across the frontlines with all its might, causing almost half of the defenses to crumple and break in an instant.
However, rather than remain passive and let the wyvern’s tail continue wreaking havoc among them, those at the frontlines continued to cast their defensive skills the soonest they could.
At the same time, those that supported the frontlines offered as much support to the latter as possible, ranging from various buffs that boosted their defense, to additional shields that gave those at the front more leeway to activate their skill.
Because of that, the frontlines were able to endure the wyvern’s first attack mostly unscathed, with only some of them receiving minor injuries due to a few unavoidable mistakes.
Nevertheless, with the first massive hurdle of the fight out of the way, everyone in the five guilds looked at the red wyvern with gleaming eyes, their minds already imagining the rewards they’d obtain from teaching the red wyvern a lesson.
“Support, debuffs!” Knowing that they’d only nudged the tides a bit to their favor with their successful defense, Valyr swiftly sent a command that would tip the scales even further before heading straight for the red wyvern.
“DPS, with the main team! Show no mercy to the wyvern!”
“Copy!”
Whoosh!
Forged from the hardships they’ve experienced after fighting against the red wyvern at the midpoint three times in a row, Valyr and a great portion of his members headed towards the red wyvern like a well-trained army, brandishing their weapons with fervor in their eyes.
“Charge!”
Of course, the other guilds didn’t want to be left behind after Azure Coalition took initiative.
With that, the four guild leaders sent out a similar command to Valyr, having a portion of their members focus on debilitating the red wyvern as much as possible while the majority moved closer to attack.
Thanks to that… the group finally had the opportunity to avenge their past two failures.
“[Fireball]!”
“[Cross Blade]!”
“[Falcon Punch]!”
Swapping between dealing damage and defending against the red wyvern’s stray attacks, the five guilds attacked the wyvern through means of barely controlled chaos.
With the five guild leaders barking orders at their guild members every once in a while, the group gradually began to whittle down the massive health pool the red wyvern had.
“[Mana Shield]!”
“[Banner of Defense]!”
“[Card of Reversal]!”
Of course, even with the debuffs, that did not mean that the red wyvern remained idle.
Roaaaarrrr!!!
Taking every opportunity it could to free itself from the incessant attacks landing on its body, the red wyvern showed its fury towards them, dishing out yet another attack in the hopes the nuisance before it would disappear once and for all.
Unfortunately, with a considerable portion of its strength decreased thanks to the massive number of debuffs applied on it, its attack wasn’t able to deal as much damage as its first attack did on the group.
In fact, with the excitement brought about by the wyvern finally succumbing to their attacks, it could be said that the red wyvern took damage rather than dealing damage to its foes, all of it thanks to some players having access to damage reflection skills.
With the red wyvern’s threat mostly nullified and the attacks of the five guilds becoming consistent, the fight gradually fell into a pattern of sorts, unknowingly finding some sort of equilibrium by the time they brought the red wyvern down to 80% HP.
“So… who said they wanted to talk their way out of a fight against the red wyvern again?” While Valyr fired off a couple of mana bolts here and there to show that he was contributing to the fight, a man gradually moved closer to him before cracking a joke.
“Let me ask you first, though.” Hearing the man’s words, Valyr let out a bit of laughter before firing a joke back. “Did it give us the opportunity to talk to it?”
“Would’ve preferred talking it out if it was possible, but this ain’t half bad either,” replied Malutar, letting out laughter in response to the young man’s words.
Though, a few seconds later, he looked at him with a slight frown. “In any case, do you think we’d be able to defeat the red wyvern sooner or later? Our DPS is only barely above its regeneration rate.”
“I don’t see why not,” responded Valyr back, wondering whether he should start using incantations to boost the overall DPS just a little bit more. “We may be whittling it down slowly, but at least it’s consistent.”
“You really can’t expect us to deal that much damage, especially with such a massive gap between us and the red wyvern.”
“Well… you’re not wrong,” said Malutar after some time, briefly shaking his head in a bid to discard the negative thoughts in his head. “Would be a good idea to bump the DPS up a bit, though.”
“Wouldn’t want to whittle down its HP for hours, would we?”
Valyr merely smiled at those words.
“Support, use all of your buffs on the DPS and vanguard!”
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
With them spending most of their time refreshing the debuffs they applied on the red wyvern, the support in Valyr’s group showed no hesitation in casting a couple of area-wide buffs, easily boosting Azure Coalition’s DPS by a couple of notches.
Seeing that the red wyvern’s HP was depleting at a slightly faster rate than before, the other guilds that had yet to cast buffs on their attackers decided to follow suit, allowing their DPS to finally reach consistent triple digits.
However, just as the five guilds were beginning to think that it was only a matter of time before the red wyvern would succumb from all the damage its body accumulated, something about it began to change the moment its health reached 60%.
