MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1534 - 1534: Grinding Experience (2)“Hmm?”
Hearing his name get called all of a sudden, Ataraxia turned to look in the direction of the one calling him, only for his expression to turn into that of surprise.
“Miss Mystia?” said the young man in return, his mouth slightly agape. “What are you doing here?”
“I could say the same thing to you,” replied Mystia, letting out a chuckle in response to the current situation. “I’m guessing you’re planning to grind a ton of XP?”
Ataraxia nodded at those words. “You?”
“Other reasons,” said the woman as she glanced at the attendant serving Ataraxia for a bit.
Bringing up a screen before her, she then sent a message to who knows where before returning her attention back to the young man. “They asked me to restock some of the elixirs they were using for the monsters.”
“I see.” Getting a slightly better idea of how the Meltierre Killing Grounds with that piece of information, Ataraxia went ahead and ended their conversation then and there, considering that Mystia was at the killing grounds at a professional capacity.
With that, the young man watched as her silhouette gradually disappeared from his vision, only to then shift his attention back towards the attendant in front of him.
“So, how much would it cost if I were to choose the highest tier for both?”
“Er…” Having read the message Mystia sent to her while the two were in the middle of their conversation, the attendant began to look at Ataraxia with a hint of fear and admiration in her eyes. “T-There’s no need to pay for it.”
“Hmm?” Raising his eyebrow at the attendant’s words, Ataraxia slightly frowned for a bit, only for it to ease up as he understood why she suddenly changed her attitude towards him all of a sudden.
“Did Miss Mystia say something?” he asked the attendant casually, which surprisingly caused the fear she felt towards him to intensify.
Realizing this, Ataraxia scratched the back of his head for a bit before assuring her that he wasn’t out to get her in any way.
Fortunately, the attendant calmed down after that, informing him a bit about the message she had received from Mystia during their conversation.
Though the contents of the message weren’t what he was expecting to hear from a renowned alchemist like Mystia, Ataraxia still felt thankful towards her actions nevertheless, especially once he found out from the attendant that the cost to book a room of the highest tier and duration was 50 platinum coins.
Tossing a fifth of the cost of the room to the attendant as a token of gratitude, Ataraxia soon found himself escorted to the room he had booked, with the attendant surprisingly acting as his liaison of sorts throughout the duration of his stay.
“…Was this also included in her message?” he could not help but ask, recalling that the attendant had not mentioned anything about accompanying him in her explanation.
“Not at all.” The woman shook her head, which only amplified the confusion Ataraxia felt towards the matter even further.
Fortunately, it all made sense once the attendant continued with her next statement.
“Think of it as reciprocating the token of gratitude you’ve given me.”
And with that, the two of them soon entered the room Ataraxia had booked, only to be greeted by a large group of staff that bowed to them the moment they came in.
“Welcome to the Meltierre Killing Grounds!”
Being reminded of the first time he entered an Experience Pit as Valyr while he watched the staff greet him, Ataraxia took in a calming breath as he swept his gaze over the entire group that would aid him during his stay.
Shifting his gaze towards the various amenities in the room after that, the young man eventually stopped his gaze on the person that looked like the leader of the entire group. “Mind explaining what I need to do?”
“Certainly,” replied the leader, going through the entire process step by step in a way that made it easy for Ataraxia to understand.
In short, the entire process of grinding XP in the Meltierre Killing Grounds was more or less similar to what he had gotten used to back in the Experience Pits.
However, unlike the Experience Pit, he now had more freedom and choice in how the monsters would come at him.
Not only that, but he also had greater freedom in what kind of monsters he could fight while in the killing grounds, with the leader even boasting to him at some point that he could choose from over 500 types of monsters to fight against.
After familiarizing himself a bit more with the layout of the killing grounds, Ataraxia soon got started as he made his way towards the area where all of the monster killing would take place.
Once he’d gotten a heads-up from the staff that they were ready to start sending in monsters for him to kill, he then went ahead and ask them to summon a monster that was at the same level as him.
“It would be great if the monsters you send in are susceptible to magic,” said the young man, to which the staff quickly obliged to his request.
Creak…
Noticing one of the gates open up after a minute or so of waiting, Ataraxia watched as a mass of viscous fluid started to wriggle towards him, prompting the young man to use his identification skill to find out what kind of monster the grounds had sent out.
Ding!
‘So it’s a slime,’ inwardly muttered the young man after that, faintly nodding as he continued to watch the slime continued to inch closer towards him.
Whoosh!
By the time only a few meters separated the two, the slime decided to change shape all of a sudden, transforming into a round ball of sorts as the speed it moved towards him increased by at least fourfold.
“[Orb of Apyrhan]!”
In response to the sudden increase in the slime’s velocity, the young man went ahead and took out his staff, only to then cast his strongest flame-based spell on it before it could get any closer.
Bang!
And thus, Ataraxia’s grind for XP had officially begun.
