Myth Beyond Heaven

Chapter 2616: Deep Hatred (1)

Yao Xi didn't respond but attacked Si Junyi with her light spear.

Si Junyi didn't move from his spot as he waved his hand, creating a black vortex that swallowed the light spear.

BANG!

The light spear exploded inside the black vortex, creating a ripple of energy that spread through the void.

Si Junyi didn't stop there. He raised his hand again, and a beam of darkness shot toward Yao Xi at incredible speed.

Yao Xi's expression remained unchanged as she raised her hand slightly.

BANG!

The beam of darkness was also shattered into countless light particles, illuminating the dark void.

The two stared at each other calmly, their eyes locked in a silent battle of wills. The air crackled with tension; the energy of their opposing powers created palpable pressure that weighed heavily on the surrounding space.

After a moment, Yao Xi let out a long breath. She turned her gaze to Yun Lintian, her eyes lingering on him for a moment, a flicker of murderous intent crossing her features.

A moment later, she turned and vanished into the void, leaving Yun Lintian and Si Junyi alone in the silent expanse.

Yun Lintian watched her go, his brow furrowed in confusion. He turned to Si Junyi, his eyes filled with questions. "Why did you protect me?" he asked, his voice wary.

Si Junyi met his gaze, his expression unreadable. "Why did you forgive Yao Huang?" he countered, his voice calm and steady. "He attacked your people, slaughtered countless innocents. Yet, you showed him mercy at the end. Why?"

Yun Lintian was taken aback by the question. He had not expected Si Junyi to ask him such a thing. He thought for a moment, considering his answer.

"In fact, he was right," he answered. "The fate of the inheritors of the Primordial Gods... it's a cruel one. We are burdened with immense power, with the responsibility of shaping the destiny of the universe. But we are also pawns, manipulated by forces beyond our control."

Yun Lintian paused for a moment and continued, "There's nothing wrong with his struggling to survive. After all, everyone wants to live. Now that he's gone, there's no point in my holding this grudge any longer."

Si Junyi stared into Yun Lintian's eyes and asked, "What would you do if a person similar to Yao Huang was someone close to you?"

Yun Lintian pursed his lips, staring at Si Junyi. "What are you trying to say?"

"Just answer my question. Are you going to let that person go?" Si Junyi asked calmly.

Yun Lintian frowned deeply as he answered, "I will take that person's power away."

Si Junyi took a deep look at Yun Lintian and said, "As expected of you. I guess nature can't be changed."

He turned to look at the dark orb in Yun Lintian's hand and said, "Go ahead. I will protect you."

Yun Lintian didn't know why he suddenly had a sense of trust for Si Junyi. He hesitated briefly and nodded. "Alright. Thank you."

Yun Lintian closed his eyes, focusing his mind on the orb of darkness pulsating in his hand. The chaotic energy within it surged and swirled, a tempest of power waiting to be unleashed. He took a deep breath, steeling his resolve, and began to draw the energy into himself. ȐÂℕоΒĚS

The darkness flowed into his meridians like a raging torrent, overwhelming his senses, threatening to consume him from within. He gritted his teeth, his body trembling under the strain. The power of the God of Darkness was immense, far greater than anything he had ever encountered before.

However, his injuries were too severe. The battle with Yao Huang had taken its toll, leaving him weakened and vulnerable. He could feel his control slipping, the darkness threatening to overwhelm him, to twist him into a reflection of Yao Huang's fallen form.

Just as he felt himself losing ground, a cool, soothing energy flowed into him from behind. He opened his eyes and saw Si Junyi standing there, his hand outstretched, his eyes glowing with an eerie green light.

"I will help you," Si Junyi said, his voice calm and steady. "Focus on absorbing the power. I will keep the darkness at bay."

Yun Lintian nodded gratefully, closing his eyes once more. With Si Junyi's aid, the chaotic energy began to settle, the darkness becoming less turbulent, less threatening. He focused all his will on absorbing the power, guiding it through his meridians, integrating it with his own.

The process was slow and arduous, a delicate dance between control and chaos. But with Si Junyi's steady support, Yun Lintian gradually gained the upper hand. He felt the darkness yielding to his will, its raw power bending to his command.

As he absorbed more and more of the God of Darkness's legacy, his body began to transform. His skin shimmered with a faint, dark sheen, his eyes flickered with a newfound intensity, and a subtle aura of power emanated from him, a testament to the immense strength he was

gaining.

The void around him resonated with his growing power, the very fabric of space and time warping and twisting in response to his transformation. Remnants of stars flickered and danced, their light bending and refracting as if caught in a cosmic whirlwind.

Si Junyi was slightly surprised as he stared at Yun Lintian attentively. Yun Lintian's ability to refine the power of the Primordial God was too unreasonable compared to his own experience in the past. One had to know that he had the support of his master, the God of Death.

He maintained his focus, channeling his own power into Yun Lintian, reinforcing his control, keeping the darkness in check.

Buzz-

As the final vestiges of the God of Darkness's legacy flowed into Yun Lintian, a blinding light erupted from his body, illuminating the void with a dazzling radiance.

The darkness that had clung to him dissipated, replaced by a harmonious blend of light and shadow, a testament to his mastery over the opposing forces.

Yun Lintian opened his eyes, his gaze piercing the void with a newfound clarity and power. He felt the immense strength coursing through him, the boundless potential that now lay at his

fingertips.

He looked at Si Junyi, his eyes filled with gratitude.

"Thank you," he said, his voice resonating with power and conviction. "I could not have done

it without you."

Si Junyi nodded as he retracted his hand.

"Is she really Yao Xi?" Yun Lintian asked.

"She is," Si Junyi replied. "She doesn't lose her mind, but she chooses this way herself."

"What do you mean?" Yun Lintian quickly asked as he didn't understand why Yao Xi attacked

him.
