Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5502: The Nether Emperor’s Circumstances

There was now a diagram of two crossed swords on Long Chen’s palm. The blades were as black as ink, flowing with the profound laws of the Netherworld. As the diagram solidified, the lingering Netherworld energy in the surrounding space was drawn into it, leaving the world pristine once more.

Through this diagram, Long Chen could sense the intricate laws of the Netherworld coursing within him. What surprised him even more was the faint presence of Leng Yueyan and Ming Cangyue’s divine energy fluctuations in it. It seemed that they had long since placed their marks on him so that they could find him in the future.

When Long Chen thought of the two of them, a deep pang struck his heart, as if a blade twisted within it. He had the urge to abandon everything and search for them in the Netherworld right now.

BOOM!

Long Chen slammed his palm against the void, summoning a giant black cross that cracked through the air. Yet, the barrier between worlds remained unbroken. Clearly, entering the Netherworld using the power of this diagram was not possible.

“Even with my power, I cannot pierce the wall between worlds. How did big brother Wu Tian do it back then?” asked Long Chen, unable to conceal his shock.

Back then, Wu Tian had torn apart the wall between worlds with one blow, sending Long Chen out of the Netherworld. He still remembered the power of that spear.

Looking at his palm, Long Chen saw the two swords within the diagram fade until they vanished entirely. The single attack had drained much of its energy, forcing it to retract and conserve power.

“There’s no need to rush,” said the Earth Cauldron calmly. “This rune embodies the Netherworld’s laws and carries the will of the Nether Emperor. Now, it is under your control, and in the future, it will become one of your core runes. The Netherworld’s laws are steeped in death and slaughter. This rune will grow alongside you. Before long, it will possess the power to pierce the barrier between worlds, allowing you to freely enter and exit the Netherworld.

“I’m worried about them,” Long Chen admitted, his voice heavy. “You’ve seen how sinister the Nether Emperor is. He’ll target them.”

At this moment, the voice of the Primal Chaos Dragon Sovereign rang out. “Don’t worry about it. His will has just awoken, so his main concern will be to recover his divine soul and rebuild his physical body. He definitely won’t target them personally. During his absence all these years, the Netherworld has gone through a huge transformation. He must reconsolidate his forces first. The urgent tasks will prevent him from acting freely, and he won’t change his plans just to go against you.

“Back then, the Nine Star Master blew that fellow apart, leaving only a trace of his discarnate soul hanging in the Netherworld. Having led the Netherworld with tyranny, when he lost his power, his subordinates who lived in fear started to rebel. They wanted to destroy what remained of him as revenge and so they could claim the throne.

“The Nether Emperor’s discarnate soul is bound to half of the Netherworld’s karmic luck, and whoever could obtain that karmic luck would become the new Nether Emperor. Fortunately for him, he had a few loyal subordinates who protected his discarnate soul, sending it into the Nether Pool.

“This Nether Pool is said to be the origin of the Netherworld. First, came the Nether Pool, then came the Netherworld. It is said that only the Emperor of the Netherworld is capable of entering it. It was only thanks to the Nether Pool that the Nether Emperor survived.

“The Netherworld he once knew is gone. Its karmic luck has splintered, seized by other races. Reclaiming it will not be easy. My guess is that he only made the threat to scare you and make you unable to cultivate peacefully. At the very least, you don’t need to be worried about him doing anything to you immediately.”

Hearing that, Long Chen felt much at ease. Time was the most valuable weapon to him right now; his power was growing with every passing day.

Whether it was the Nether Emperor or Lord Brahma, Long Chen vowed he would surpass them.

Long Chen’s feud with the Silver Hair Void Crusher was the best example. The first time they met, the difference had been like the clouds in the sky and the mud on the ground.

The second encounter was closer; despite being drained of power, Long Chen could at least hold his ground. In their third clash, Long Chen struck him down, albeit with the aid of external forces. Yet, power under his control was his power, no matter its source.

“Boss, are you alright?” asked Guo Ran.

At this moment, Guo Ran and the others ran over. They saw his pale complexion but also the sharpness in his gaze.

After all, the existence Long Chen had just faced was the Nether Emperor. Throughout all the heavens, who could possibly go against him one on one? Who could do it so fearlessly, to the point of even insulting him?

The Dragonblood warriors stared at their boss worshipfully. In this world, other than Long Chen, who would dare to ask the Nether Emperor to call them ‘daddy’?

“Brothers, good job. We really pulled through this time,” Long Chen said, patting Guo Ran’s shoulder pridefully.

The joint attack at the end was so powerful that even the Nether Emperor had to be wary of it. If news of that spread, it would shake the nine heavens and ten lands.

“We won!”

No one knew who shouted it first, but only then did the Dragon Domain’s experts recover from their shock. They had to celebrate.

The dragon race’s warriors unleashed heaven-shaking cheers, their faces red and their throats hoarse from how hard they were cheering. However, they didn’t care.

This immense battle was like a heavenly fire smelting them together, turning their blood and souls into one solid block.

All their previous conflicts vanished like smoke in the wind. Through this battle, the dragon race’s experts realized just how foolish they had been.

Now, they no longer thought about competing with each other to see who was the best. Their focus had shifted entirely to growing stronger, to defending the honor and dignity of the dragon race. From Long Chen, they had learned the true essence of their heritage—unyielding pride and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.

I can die in a blazing glory, but I cannot live as a worthless coward. That was the attitude that the dragon race should have. In this battle, they had come to comprehend this principle.

The Dragon Domain became one solid, fearless existence. Even if Long Chen ordered them to attack Lord Brahma, despite knowing that they wouldn’t survive, they would not hesitate to charge toward his domain.

Seeing them shouting excitedly, Long Chen smiled.

“The seeds of pride in the dragon race’s bloodline are awakening,” Long Chen muttered.

Hmph.”

The Primal Chaos Dragon Sovereign simply snorted. Although it didn’t say anything, Long Chen could hear the gratification inside its snort. His foolish descendants had finally turned over a new leaf.

“Senior, can I absorb the essence blood in the sovereign dragon reverse scale?” asked Long Chen.

The supreme dragon might emanating from the scale stirred a fervor within Long Chen. If he could harness it, he and the Dragonblood Legion would ascend to even greater heights.
