Nine Star Hegemon Body Art

Chapter 5631: Three Thousand Divine Runes

One star after another exploded, leaving behind only the cores. These cores then merged with divine runes and formed entirely new stars.

Each new star was less than one ten-thousandth of its original size, but it radiated an aura that was deeper and heavier.

It seemed as though the divine runes had found a perfect home, while the stars themselves were rejuvenated with newfound vitality, emanating profound fluctuations. However, the process appeared to have exhausted all their energy, leaving both the stars and the runes in a state of slumber.

Long Chen was happy to see the stars undergo what resembled a phoenix’s rebirth. Despite the hellish torment he had endured, the outcome made it all worthwhile.

Seven… eight… Long Chen had absorbed over thirty divine runes into his body. However, the effort left him dizzy and dazed, his Spiritual Strength nearly drained.

Then, to his dismay, he noticed something alarming—the divine runes that had merged with his starry sea started showing signs of leaving, seemingly trying to return to the Jiuli Divine Stele.

His heart sank as he considered the possibility that these three thousand divine runes might be interconnected, requiring them to be absorbed in one go. If he couldn’t get them all at once, these runes would return to the stele.

Long Chen had only absorbed thirty runes, and his Spiritual Strength was already exhausted. If this continued, he would definitely fail.

To make matters worse, Long Chen’s connection to the Earth Cauldron, Evilmoon, and even the primal chaos space was severed. He couldn’t ask for their help.

Long Chen started to panic as all his efforts were on the verge of slipping away. All of a sudden, Long Chen turned to the Jiuli Divine Stele. Clenching his teeth, he conjured a seven-color blood rune on his hand.

Blood-colored extended from his hand, wrapping around the Jiuli Divine Stele. To his astonishment, the stele offered no resistance.

The entire stele quivered as divine light flowed from it into Long Chen’s palm, traveling up his arm and eventually enveloping him entirely. With his heart and soul fully focused, Long Chen sought to merge with the Jiuli Divine Stele, hoping to stop its rejection.

If the Jiuli Divine Stele stopped rejecting him, then the Jiuli divine runes in him would no longer be in such a rush to leave, granting him precious time.

This crude method was the only thing Long Chen could think of. If this failed, he could only give up. As divine light surrounded him, Long Chen’s body trembled, and the world around him became transparent.

To his shock, he saw familiar figures: Long Tianrui, Long Zimo, Long Zaiye, Jiang Yue’e, and Feng Fei. There were others he didn’t recognize, all communing with the Jiuli Divine Stele. Even more astonishing, they were physically close to him, yet none seemed aware of his presence.

Long Chen then realized that anyone who could pass the ninth barrier and come to the Jiuli Divine Stele would enter the Jiuli Divine Stele’s space. But each space was also independent, so no one could see each other.

In other words, after passing the ninth barrier, they were no longer in the same space. However, since Long Chen had merged with the Jiuli Divine Stele, he could see this world through its eyes.

Looking beyond the ninth barrier, Long Chen saw tens of thousands of figures. Outside the eighth barrier were millions, and even more gathered beyond the seventh. Among them, he recognized the Northern Alliance, whom he had previously saved.

While they didn’t have the bloodline of the divine clans, they still managed to reach this level. It was a remarkable feat, given that ninety percent of those at this stage hailed from the divine clans.

Nearly all of the Northern Alliance’s experts had made it to this point. What was even more astonishing was the halo of light shimmering above their heads.

“Are they related to the divine clans?” asked Long Chen, startled.

However, he quickly dismissed the idea. Su Yu had already explained that the Four Cardinal Alliance was not a single sect or clan. They had banded together out of necessity to survive in the Heaven Essence World.

Even if some people were related to the divine clans, there was no way there could be this many. Furthermore, the divine light above their heads was odd, and even Long Chen couldn’t tell what it was.

After merging with the Jiuli Divine Stele, Long Chen could sense that the Jiuli Divine Stele seemed to feel slightly impartial toward them.

At that moment, the starry sea in Long Chen’s Dantian quivered. To his delight, a Jiuli divine rune merged with a star entirely on its own.

Long Chen’s jaw dropped. His initial plan had only been to buy time by merging with the Jiuli Divine Stele, hoping that the absorbed runes wouldn’t escape. He hadn’t anticipated this unexpected development.

The divine runes seemed to have discovered a spiritual channel connecting them to Long Chen’s soul. Drawn by curiosity, they followed the channel into his starry sea, seemingly in search of a home.

Feeling this, Long Chen almost wept with joy. Had he known it was this easy, he wouldn’t have had to suffer all that spiritual torture.

One Jiuli rune after another flowed through the spiritual channel. Some wandered around aimlessly for a while, while others passed through the Divine Gate and entered the starry sea. After exploring, they each found a star they resonated with and seamlessly merged with it.

Long Chen watched this process with growing excitement. He didn’t need to intervene at all. The runes moved over on their own accord, and as the first few settled in, the others became increasingly active.

Suddenly, Long Chen felt an intense fluctuation and looked over to see a rune flashing on Long Zaiye’s forehead. That rune then vanished, reappearing on both of his wings.

Long Chen’s heart trembled. There were now over ten runes etched into Long Zaiye’s wings, their glow radiating an aura of immense power.

“Damn it! How is he comprehending them so fast?!” exclaimed Long Chen, his voice filled with frustration and disbelief.

He had always prided himself on his cheating abilities, yet now someone else seemed to be bending the rules just as effectively.

Long Chen had the urge to charge over and slap Long Zaiye, but he was helpless. The two of them were not in the same space, and he couldn’t touch Long Zaiye.

Long Chen’s starry sea constantly shook as one star after another exploded. There were over six hundred Jiuli runes in his body now.

As the influx of runes continued, their pull seemed to grow stronger, accelerating the absorption of the remaining runes.

After two hours, the final star exploded, and its core merged with a Jiuli rune. That was the final divine rune on the Jiuli Divine Stele.

In that instant, the entire three thousand stars blazed with brilliance, and a mysterious energy connected them, forming countless transformations filled with profundities. It was as if they were manifesting all transformations of the universe.

However, just as Long Chen was planning on looking at them more closely, their light faded. All three thousand runes entered a state of slumber.

“It’s done?”

Long Chen was dumbfounded.
