What shocked Long Chen was that this qi wave actually contained pure Heavenly Doyen energy. This energy, which he had scraped together to condense his heaven veins, was now blasting out crazily.
Ripples surged like angry waves, flattening the surrounding mountains and forests in an instant. Smoke and dust billowed into the air, and before this torrential power, even the mightiest seemed insignificant.
At the same time, Long Chen’s dragon blood grew more active. He looked toward the origin of the waves, sensing an ancient and desolate aura.
“It’s there!”
Long Chen’s heart shook. He could sense the aura of the Emperor reverse scale. Its energy was deep and resounding but lacked the destructive will of dragon race experts. It felt as though it were still in a slumber.
Long Chen leaped off the devil bird, his lightning wings spreading once more as he charged into the surging qi waves. Based on his experience, the appearance of the Emperor reverse scale would cause continuous waves for some time. At this moment, the devil bird became a hindrance, and it would be faster for him to move forward himself.
Seeing that Long Chen kept his promise and spared its life, the devil bird turned and fled in the opposite direction.
As Long Chen pushed against the tide, the astral winds were like blades cutting his face.
Suddenly, his vision darkened as an enormous figure smashed into him. The figure appeared so suddenly, without any spatial fluctuations, that Long Chen had no time to react. Instinctively, he unleashed a palm strike.
“AH!”A scream echoed. Only then did Long Chen realize it was a demon race expert. Long Chen’s palm had struck its lower body, blowing it apart. Its sudden appearance startled Long Chen, especially since it was only a six-vein Heaven Saint without any core veins.
“How did it move against the current with its power?” Long Chen wondered.
However, Long Chen quickly realized this creature had likely been near the Emperor reverse scale when it appeared. Unable to withstand the astral winds, it was blown back and had the misfortune of colliding with him.
This fellow was quite unlucky. Long Chen blew up its lower body, and it didn’t even see Long Chen before it was blown away by the astral winds.
“I should hurry up,” Long Chen muttered, immediately quickening his pace.
The Dragon Sovereign had told him the reverse scale had birthed its own spirit and was no longer under its control. To claim it, Long Chen would need to rely on his strength.
Long Chen stamped on the void and shot forward like a bolt of lightning, cutting through the turbulent tide. After rushing for what felt like an incense stick’s time, he suddenly saw countless figures flying around ahead. The stench of demonic qi assaulted him, and their auras matched that of the unfortunate fellow from earlier.
Hundreds of thousands of them were gathered here, holding chains in their hands. They were only able to resist the astral winds thanks to those chains.
“It’s the Heaven Demon Alliance,” muttered Long Chen, recognizing their insignia.
When Long Chen flew by this group of people, one of them directly swung a sword at him.
“Don’t!” a startled shout rang from their leader, an expert who had condensed a core vein.
He recognized Long Chen’s strength and knew they should avoid provoking him. However, before his warning could reach his subordinates, the attacker had already acted.
Long Chen had originally planned on ignoring these ants. After all, dealing with them was entirely a waste of time. However, one of them just had to be so brave.
BOOM!
Evilmoon’s blade tore through the air, its massive saber image slicing through the group. The attack shattered their chains, leaving them at the mercy of the astral winds. The demons were sent flying, their leader’s battle-axe exploding along with him as he attempted to fight back.
“Fools,” Long Chen spat, annoyed at the delay.
Accelerating once more against the current took effort, and these interruptions only wasted his time. They could have survived peacefully but just had to court death.
Just as Long Chen started to accelerate a bit, another group of people appeared in front of him. This time, it was a group of devil experts.
Long Chen tensed but found them smarter; they refrained from provoking him. He passed by without incident and continued accelerating.
Just then, a jade plate on his waist started to flash rapidly. Blood-red runes shook on it.
“Shit! The Dragonblood Legion’s in trouble!”
Long Chen’s expression darkened. This jade plate was no ordinary communication tool. It was a one-time-use talisman, capable only of receiving distress signals and indicating a direction. The Dragonblood Legion would only activate it in the direst circumstances.
BOOM!
The jade plate shattered, and Long Chen’s heart pounded. Without hesitation, he veered off diagonally, pushing through the astral winds with urgency.
“Where did this human brat come from? Scram!” roared an expert ahead of him.
“Get lost! If you dare block me, you’ll regret being born!” Long Chen roared back, his voice laced with killing intent so intense it froze their souls.
The group ahead belonged to a race unfamiliar to Long Chen. They numbered in the millions, led by an expert who had condensed two core veins. Sensing Long Chen’s terrifying aura, the leader shivered and ordered his people to move aside.
These people shot out of his way in fear. Long Chen flew right over them, and they didn’t dare to move.
With lightning wings on his back and astral light beneath his feet, Long Chen raised his speed to its limit. Long Chen flew for two hours before sensing a familiar aura—that of the ten thousand dragon nest. Relief surged through him; he was getting close.
All of a sudden, the astral winds ahead vanished, replaced by the sound of battle and a sinister, high-pitched voice.
“Ladies of the Wind God Sea Pavilion, do you really think you can stop the Heaven Demon Alliance? You must be dreaming. Slaughter them all!”
When Long Chen heard this, his head buzzed. His killing intent exploded like a volcano.
