Chapter 5887: Come

“What do I want?”

Long Chen snickered. “I have been ordered to reclaim the Undying Eye. But honestly? That’s just the surface.”

At the mention of the Undying Eye, the expressions of the Devil Eye Water Lily race’s core experts changed. Even Lian Sanqiang’s pupils contracted.

The Undying Eye had been sealed within their race all this time, and they had always believed it was a tightly held secret. They never imagined the Undying race had known all along.

Long Chen continued, “Truth is, I’m not all that interested in the Undying Eye. What I really want… is for this conflict to escalate. I want the Undying race to go all out and wipe your race off the map. While the two of you are busy tearing each other apart, I, Long Chen, will sneak in and reap all the rewards. Hehe, how’s that sound?”

Even the Undying race’s experts were baffled by what he was saying. Just what was he thinking?

Unlike the senior members of their race, Liu Minghao and the others had been somewhat unwilling to have Long Chen lead them on this mission. But since it was Liu Changtian’s orders, they begrudgingly accepted it. However, Long Chen’s words caused their expressions to change.

“You’re trying to provoke a war between the Undying race and the Devil Eye Water Lily race?” Lian Sanqiang asked coldly.

“Are you stupid? There’s already bad blood between you. What do I need to provoke? I’m just going with the flow,” Long Chen replied disdainfully.

“Liu Xihua, do you hear what this human is saying?!” roared Lian Sanqiang.

Liu Xihua remained silent. She didn’t understand Long Chen’s way of doing things, but she trusted that the Sovereign Lord wouldn’t have misjudged in giving him this task.

Just as Lian Sanqiang turned to her, Long Chen stepped forward and slapped him in the face.

“Hey, I’m the one in charge here. Look at me when I’m talking!” Long Chen exclaimed.

He immediately shot back after slapping Lian Sanqiang.

As expected, Lian Sanqiang reflexively lashed out, tearing through space in front of him. But he was just a fraction too slow.

Long Chen managed to retreat in the blink of an eye, though pain throbbed in his chest. He looked down, stunned to find his robes shredded and his chest bleeding. He had blocked the attack… yet it still pierced through.

Everyone was shocked.

Long Chen had slapped Lian Sanqiang in the face. And even more shocking—Lian Sanqiang missed his counterattack.

It had happened too quickly for anyone to react. Even Liu Xihua hadn’t expected Long Chen to be this brazen. He was goading Lian Sanqiang into madness!

Liu Changtian’s order was to recover the Undying Eye without sparking a war. But Long Chen looked more like he was doing everything in his power to ignite one.

“Die!” Lian Sanqiang roared.

Sovereign qi exploded out of him, causing heaven and earth to change color. The entire world was shuddering madly, as if it would explode.

“Come, come right at me!” taunted Long Chen.

Long Chen suddenly pulled out a command tablet that contained Sovereign might. One name was inscribed on it: Changtian. The moment Lian Sanqiang saw it, his expression changed.

“This tablet contains Sovereign Lord Changtian’s Sovereign might,” Long Chen declared. “You want to kill me? Go ahead! Let’s see whether your Sovereign might can overpower his! Come, why are you hesitating!”

Long Chen looked like a madman as he provoked Lian Sanqiang, turning the latter’s expression exceedingly ugly.

Even Liu Xihua was shocked. She hadn’t expected Liu Changtian to hand Long Chen this tablet—his personal command tablet. Whoever held it could essentially act as the Sovereign Lord himself.

Once activated, the tablet would essentially unleash an attack from Liu Changtian. No wonder Long Chen was so fearless in front of Lian Sanqiang.

“What’s wrong? Come on! I’m young and not afraid of death. You? You’re practically ancient. What are you scared of?” Long Chen jeered.

Lian Sanqiang gritted his teeth so hard it looked like they might shatter. He wasn’t afraid of this attack, as he refused to believe that a command tablet would be stronger than his own attack.

But this wasn’t about strength. If that tablet activated, perhaps only a few elite members of the Devil Eye Water Lily race would survive.

Attack? He didn’t dare

Don’t attack? He was humiliated, unwilling to leave it be.

Lian Sanqiang felt like he might explode.

“What the hell do you want?!” Lian Sanqiang roared.

“Stop yelling. Let’s talk nicely,” Long Chen said calmly.

Long Chen looked completely at ease. Everything was going just as he had planned. The Undying race didn’t want a war here, and it was clear the Devil Eye Water Lily race didn’t want one either—perhaps didn’t even dare.

Long Chen didn’t know the exact reasons. But it didn’t matter. In truth, he wanted the Undying race to launch a full-scale assault and wipe out the Devil Eye Water Lily race.

Why? Several reasons.

First, it would draw out the forces behind them—Lord Brahma and Yan Xu. From their reactions, he could gather valuable intel.

Second, the battle would unite the Undying race’s subordinates. It would silence internal dissent and make them believe in their leaders.

Third, the experts of the Undying race would undergo the baptism of battle. It would be monumental for them, as it would forge real experts.

And finally… for his own selfish goals.

He wanted the corpses of the Devil Eye Water Lily race’s experts. Once he threw them into the primal chaos space, it might trigger another transformation.

The space had clearly hit a bottleneck, and what it needed now was fuel, a lot of powerful corpses.

Thus, Long Chen wasn’t afraid of a war. Even if the Undying race suffered losses, he had the Seven Treasure Space. He could help them raise new experts.

Last time, to train Liu Minghao and the others, the Seven Treasure Colored Glass Tree had exhausted a great deal of its energy. It needed more energy to recover, so Long Chen planned on a mutually beneficial arrangement.

However, Liu Changtian had rejected Long Chen’s suggestion of a full-scale bloodbath. Whether it was to avoid over-relying on Long Chen, or for other reasons, Long Chen couldn’t say.

But even now, Long Chen wasn’t backing down.

“Don’t go too far!” snapped one of the Devil Eye Water Lily race’s experts, fury burning in his eyes.

“Too far?” Long Chen sneered. “Come here. I’ll slap you too. When you ordered the Daluo Azure Lotus race to come to threaten my Undying race, were you worried about going too far then?”

Long Chen waved the command tablet again and taunted, “Even if I’m going too far, what will you do? Bite me?”

Lian Sanqiang inhaled deeply, doing everything in his power to suppress his rage.

“…Let’s talk.”
