Chapter 6180 Heavenly Eye Race
Within the primal chaos space, intense fluctuations erupted from the mysterious vine. Its body twisted and writhed violently.
“Zhi Zhi!”
Long Chen was alarmed to sense Zhi Zhi’s aura rising sharply. It lashed through the air like a whip, and the void trembled with booming echoes.
“Ignore it. It’s fully refined that twelve-winged monster’s corpse. In its impatience, it absorbed all the energy at once. That monster’s energy is nearly equivalent to a peak mid-stage Sovereign Lord. This is only the beginning. It’ll have a few rough days ahead,” said the Earth Cauldron.
“Will Zhi Zhi be alright?” asked Long Chen.
“It’ll be fine. It just has to endure this struggle. Once it gets through it, all that energy will be completely absorbed.”
“Completely? Then doesn’t that mean…?”
“Yes, it will have the power of a mid-stage Sovereign Lord. Not one bit of energy is wasted.”
“Isn’t that rather terrifying? Just where does Zhi Zhi come from?” Long Chen asked.
After all, the ability to fully absorb energy like this was too heaven-defying.
The Earth Cauldron sighed. “This vine comes from beyond the heavens. I have faint memories of it, but they’re unclear. Perhaps I’ll recall more once my power recovers. Or perhaps… I never will.”
“Why is that?” Long Chen raised a brow.
“Because even if I recover to my peak, I’ll only have half my memories. Well, that’s all,” said the Earth Cauldron before falling into silence.
Half its memories? Long Chen was startled, but he understood.
The Earth Cauldron didn’t seem to like mentioning its other half, and Long Chen wasn’t in a position to probe further.
Watching Zhi Zhi struggle in pain, Long Chen could only stand by helplessly. It was like a cocooning butterfly—its struggle was part of its growth. There was no danger, only a tough road ahead it.
Withdrawing his divine sense from the primal chaos space, Long Chen pulled out a transportation formation disc and activated it.
…
Long Chen soon arrived in a city. Though he had many formation discs, he wasn’t a formation master. His teleportations often deviated slightly from their targets.
That minor deviation resulted in a major difference in his destination. It was a hassle. He preferred using the nearest city’s main formations, which were far more accurate. After all, the transportation formations of the major cities were all connected. They wouldn’t suddenly veer off track.
The moment Long Chen walked in, countless gazes turned toward him in shock.
But those gazes quickly shifted to scorn.
“Another faker. There’s one every day. Do they not realize Long Chen has so many enemies that playing him could get them killed?”
Long Chen’s brow furrowed. It seemed Brahma Pill Valley’s schemes hadn’t ended—people were still impersonating him.
What he didn’t know was that this wasn’t entirely due to the Brahma Pill Valley. Some youths simply sought attention and dressed up as him to create a commotion. That feeling of being the center of the world was intoxicating for them.
However, several imitators had already been beaten to death when exposed.
Within the human race, impersonating Long Chen wasn’t a huge deal. At most, people would laugh and give them a light lesson.
But among other races, it was a different story. Long Chen had slaughtered them before, and they viewed him as a sworn enemy. If the real Long Chen appeared, they would flee. But if it was a fake, they’d kill them on the spot.
As such, Long Chen’s arrival drew numerous strange looks. Many imitators had already died, which reduced their numbers for a time.
But after his battle at the mixed beast race, Long Chen’s fame exploded once more, causing the number of imitators to rise again.
Nowadays, anyone bold enough to pretend to be Long Chen usually came with powerful backers and protection.
However, this Long Chen was alone, which caught everyone’s attention. There were only two possibilities: he was either a clueless fool… or the real deal.
Suddenly, the void quivered, and an elder instantly appeared in front of Long Chen.
Startled cries rang out.
“City lord!”
People recognized this old man. He was a fourth Heavenstage Sovereign Lord in command of this city.
“Mister Long Chen, Feather Emperor City welcomes you. Is there anything you require?” the elder said, bowing respectfully.
“Heavens, it’s really Long Chen?!”
The spectators were stunned. If someone could draw out the city lord himself, there was no doubt about his identity.
“City lord, you’re too courteous. I am just passing by and want to use the transportation formation in this city,” Long Chen replied, cupping his fists to the city lord.
He was a bit surprised the city lord would personally greet him. But after glancing around, he spotted several panicked gazes and immediately understood.
Those fearful looks came from non-human cultivators—some were even Sovereign Lords. They had assumed he was another fake and were preparing to kill him.
The city lord had been sharp enough to act first. Though unsure if this was the real Long Chen, he directly greeted Long Chen. After all, he couldn’t see through this Long Chen at all.
Rather than risk his city, he chose to act this way. If anyone provoked the real Long Chen, the city could be razed to dust.
After Long Chen confirmed his identity, the city lord finally exhaled in relief. It was fortunate he’d come out personally. This Long Chen was the real deal.
“Mister Long Chen, I will lead the way for you!” the elder declared loudly, signaling for the guards to make preparations.
This also served as a warning to the others. No one should act recklessly and drag the city into disaster.
Everyone knew Long Chen had the power of a late-stage Sovereign Lord. Hence, it was best to send him off quickly so peace could return.
Just as Long Chen reached the transportation formation, a mocking sneer rang out.
“Long Chen? How brazen! Does using a transportation formation really take such a fuss? Do you really think you’re the human race’s number one expert?”
The city lord instantly turned green, having the urge to crush the speaker with his palm.
Luckily, Long Chen ignored the voice and stepped onto the formation, selecting his destination.
However, that sinister voice rang out again.
“What? Do you feel guilty? Too scared to respond?”
“Who is it?! Get the hell out here!” roared the city lord.
The surrounding people looked at each other, befuddled. The voice seemed close, yet they couldn’t locate its source.
Just then, the formation activated. Long Chen narrowed his eyes and looked at a specific patch of void.
“A coward who only knows how to hide dares to act arrogant in front of me? Get out here!” Long Chen exclaimed.
The void capsized, and a figure was ripped out of that space, coughing up blood.
As the formation completed, Long Chen’s figure faded. However, his final words echoed through the air.
“How did the Heavenly Eye race produce a degenerate like you? You’re a humiliation to your ancestors.”
“What?! The Heavenly Eye race?!”
The crowd erupted. Their eyes snapped toward the man.
Indeed, his pupils were distinctly different from a human’s.
“Long Chen!”
The man gnashed his teeth. Strange runes flickered in his pupils, and he vanished. Not even the city lord could track him.
“Heavens… even the legendary Heavenly Eye race has appeared? They weren’t exterminated?!”
News of the Heavenly Eye race’s reappearance spread like wildfire.
