“Frey!” Levin Cloud stated as only him, the wood elves, and the injured ones behind him are not frozen.

[All beings that are Frozen cannot be killed while they are unable to move. Damaging frozen beings will thaw them or being exposed to extreme heat will also release them.]

Levin Cloud saw the notification and he could see in their party tab that Frey and Peridot are alive. The only reason they cannot actively move is due to the fact that they are frozen in place. Peridot is even frozen in her dragon form which is testament to how powerful the freezing power of the cold.

“Freeze the Forest Guardian so we could be on our way. Kill the remaining ones.” The Frost Elf Leader stated as he once again released a burst of cold energy from his sword.

The sword of the Frost Elf Leader could now be clearly seen as it is no longer covered in a layer of ice. The sword itself is thawed as if it is using up the cold energy stored in it with each time that it is used. Levin Cloud managed to sneak a peak and saw the hilt of the sword which is created using a branch of something.

“It is that sword! It has the branch of the Winter Tree!” Levin Cloud thought but he needed to defend the injured now that he is the only functioning combatant.

“Let the world fall into the cold.” The Frost Elf Mage stated as she went for the cold embrace against the remaining people alive.

The wood elves banded together despite being tired from healing the injured and shivering warriors. All of them combined their magic to control the vines that Levin Cloud already used earlier. They tried to use the vines to stop the gigantic Frost Elf Mage, but the vines are useless. Just touching the body of the Frost Elf instantly froze the vines.

“I have to protect them!” Levin Cloud stated as he forced himself to transform to his true self.

Levin Cloud slammed his vines to create a large dome of vines that covered the wood elves and injured warriors. He tried to create more vines to try and defeat the transformed Frost Elf Mage, but they suffered the same fate as the vines that came in contact with her earlier. The transformed Frost Elf Mage smiled as even a Forest Guardian could not do anything to her in this state.

Levin Cloud did not show fear, but he did send an urgent message to the person that he trusts the most. He also made sure that the vines that protected the wood elves and the injured warriors were protected with the best enhancements he could quickly use. The last thing that Levin Cloud witnessed is white as he got swallowed by the cold embrace of the transformed Frost Elf Mage.

[You have been affected by Permafrost. Unable to move for two hours or when you are damaged or thawed by heat.]

“You have done well. Load the Forest Guardian into the wagon. He is needed to break our curse that has plagued us for a long time. You have also done well. Your sacrifice is for the future of the Frost Elves.” The Frost Elf Leader stated as he looked towards the Frost Elf Mage that returned to her normal form.

The Frost Elf Mage bowed to the Frost Elf Leader but her beautiful face is no longer the same. Half of her face is now covered in a decaying frost that made half her face look like it is dying off. This is the price she paid to use the powerful transformation spell. This did not only affect half her face, but half of her body is now covered in it.

The Frost Elf Mage might not show it, but she is now in constant pain as this decaying frost will continue to affect her for her remaining life. She will not be able to sleep peacefully unless a powerful sleeping agent is used. Her body will also have the inability to perform as before since this is a decaying frost curse.

“Anything for our people.” The Frost Elf Mage stated.

“You have done well and turned this entire place into a frozen paradise. You may rest and let yourself be carried by the wagon.” The Frost Elf Leader stated.

“As your liege commands.” The Frost Elf Mage replied as she squinted due to the constant pain that she is now enduring.

“What are we supposed to do with the other frozen sacrifices, my liege?” One of the Frost Elf warriors asked.

“Leave them be. This will be a warning to those that dare follow us. They might not die from the effects of the spell, but they will die and weaken from the cold. We need to return as there is much preparation to me made. We shall finally be free from the curse of the Winter Tree.” The Frost Elf Leader stated as all the Frost Elves vanished into the frozen forest.

It is not just the fields where the battle occurred that is frozen. The frost itself has crept towards the village which made half of it covered in layers of ice. The other villagers could only hide in their homes for now as they know that they might be in danger should they get out. Still, some of the young warriors that have yet to fully transition to adulthood came out to check.

The sight of all their brave warriors being frozen in ice shocked all of them. The people in the tribe tried cracking the ice as they could feel that their warriors were still alive. Even their village chief was frozen as well, and she was the one that needed to be released first. While the tribal people were trying to create flames to thaw all of them, the sky above them suddenly cracked which sent people into a panic.

“It seems we are too late.” A demon that came from the cracks stated.
