“Greetings, Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss.” Adrian greeted the small child that beckoned him.

Adrian immediately knew that this small child was the Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss or rather contains the soul of the said primordial beast. The soul of the small child before him was far more ancient and terrifying which should be impossible for a body that looks like it is about eight to ten years old. There is a possibility of shapeshifting, but Adrian could detect that the being before him only has the soul of the Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss and not the body age.

“What can you bargain me with when you are no longer the Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss?” Adrian asked as his ears suddenly perked up.

“I want you to promise me to save Elona when she is in danger. I will give you what you are searching for in exchange.” Svalr stated.

“I know it is a bit rude, but do you even know what I want?” Adrian asked.

“I may no longer have the body of a primordial beast, but my soul still resonates with the northern continent. The icy winds carry messages to me from time to time and you talk to yourself sometimes. I listened in because there was actually a being that generates primordial energy despite being mortal.” Svalr stated which made Adrian shudder.

Adrian does tend to talk about his quests that are still on hold and are very difficult to complete. He does not remember if he spilled everything but another being knowing about it is not good for him. He suddenly looked at Svalr and emitted such powerful killing intent that the child actually stumbled to the ground.

“You do not want to kill me as you are not allowed to. I know that you cannot kill beings that do not have a karmic death attached to them. You can defend yourself, but I have never attacked which means you cannot do anything to me. Calm down and listen because I have the reward you really want.” Svalr stated.

What the Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss stated is correct as Adrian cannot freely kill NPCs as he wished. It is one of the secrets that even he does not tell is other guild members. He even kept this a secret to Frey as he knows that others knowing this will never be good for him. He is bound by the laws of the living and the dead when he became the Mediator. He can retaliate when he is attacked but he can never outright kill an NPC.

“Speak of the supposed information that you said that is beneficial to me.” Adrian stated as he reeled in his killing intent.

“You once whispered to the icy winds that you are searching for a soul that carried the power of an Asmodian. I might have only met a few of them at the time as I barely interacted with them, but the Primordial Beast of Frozen Tundra devoured a fragment of one.” Svalr stated which made Adrian’s heart almost burst out from the shock.

“Do I have your attention now?” Svalr added while looking smug.

“Continue.” Adrian replied.

Svalr basically gave a rundown of how he was really the apex primordial beast living in the northern continent back then. The Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss was the ruler of all primordial beasts that live in the northern continent. He was always a fair being that made it so that the primordial beasts do not endanger the life in the continent.

His reign was unchallenged but that ended when the continents fractured for the first time. He saw a blinding starlight show back then when the continents fractured. A few months later, a powerful primordial beast suddenly appeared in the northern continent that actually challenged the power of the Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss.

This primordial beast was none other than the Primordial Beast of Frozen Tundra. It was not called this before as it was mere a primordial beast that was under the Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss. The Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss noticed a suspicious energy source back then that landed on the northern continent but paid it no heed. What he thought was harmless actually became the catalyst of disaster.

A weak primordial beast managed to devour this energy source and had its power amplified to the point that it grew as large as a mountain. The Primordial Beast of Frozen Tundra was born from this anomaly and the Primordial Beast of Icy Abyss knew where that power came from as the two first fought.

The Primordial Beast of Frozen Tundra was able to be beaten back then as it was yet to master the energy it suddenly ate but that is not always the case. The Primordial Beast of Frozen Tundra also became hungry for the energy of other primordial beasts that it started to devour the others. An unstable power due to the absorption of a fragment of an Asmodian’s soul.
