Chapter 333 Trouble! The Forbidden Node! "Holy Son" Brade Morningsong!

The two soldiers, upon seeing this, froze up, unable to hold back a gulp.

One strike had severely injured everyone, including the infamous Lightless from the Eastern Territory. If it hadn’t happened right in front of them, they would never have believed it was real, even in their wildest dreams.

“Considering how many lives you’ve saved, I’ll reluctantly spare your lives this time,” Luca said calmly, glancing at the trembling, terrified Lightless on the ground. “But next time, you won’t be so lucky.”

After saying that, he lost interest in the group of people lying on the ground and turned to get into the off-road vehicle. Donlow and Fuzzsir hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn’t finish them off and quickly followed.

“Luca, why didn’t you kill them just now?” Fuzzsir asked with confusion once they were inside the vehicle. “This doesn’t seem like something you would do.”

Luca’s mouth twitched. So, in this guy’s eyes, he was just a cold-blooded killer. He started the engine and replied, “Because there was no need. We came to Wind City for the high-level node, not to stir up trouble with Drumph.”

“Lightless and those people are from Morning Star, no matter how you look at it. Killing them brings no benefit. This is something Drumph can handle himself.”

Though Luca often killed without hesitation, he only did so when it was absolutely necessary. While Lightless and his group were despicable, they hadn’t yet reached the point where they deserved to die.

Of course, that was assuming they knew how to behave and didn’t cause him any more trouble.

“In my opinion, people like them should just be killed,” Donlow said, cracking her knuckles with murderous intent. She had zero tolerance for Lightless. If Luca hadn’t spoken up, she definitely would have smashed that bastard’s head in with one punch.

Luca just shrugged. Women could be just as ruthless as men when they wanted to be.

After starting the off-road vehicle, they sped toward the 303 Refuge. Only the twitching, electrocuted bodies of the Eastern Territory Morning Star members remained behind.

The high-level node wasn’t far from their current location. It was situated at the center of the secure zone, and they reached their destination in less than ten minutes.

Along the way, they passed many people with expressions marked by sorrow and gloom, their eyes dull, as if they were walking corpses.

These people were refugees from Wind City and the surrounding cities, now part of the 303 Refuge. As soon as Luca got out of the car, he immediately attracted the attention of many eyes.

Upon seeing the Morning Star uniforms on them, many people showed signs of fear in their eyes. Some even positioned themselves in front of their wives and daughters, glaring at them with a vigilant expression.

“Why are they looking at us like that?” Donlow was quite puzzled by this scene. After the virtual descent, Morning Star had saved many people and cities from the monsters, so logically, these people shouldn’t be so hostile toward them, even if they weren’t rolling out the red carpet.

Luca, however, wasn’t surprised. He walked toward the node while speaking, “You should ask Lightless and the others about that.”

In the previous life, during the virtual descent, human civilization collapsed in less than ten years, not only because of the overwhelming, unstoppable monsters, but also because of the many beasts wearing human skins.

Without the restraint of law, some players, having gained powers far beyond their capabilities, allowed their darker sides to grow unchecked. In the chaotic world, they wreaked havoc, often worse than the monsters themselves.

It was easy to see why the people of the 303 Refuge had such hostility toward them. It was almost certain that those bastards had done something to these ordinary people.

“These bastards!” Donlow’s face turned crimson with anger as she thought of this. Although she knew Lightless was no saint, she hadn’t imagined that this guy would be so depraved as to harm ordinary people.

“We’ll deal with them after we’re done with our main task,” Luca said, as they arrived at the high-level node they were looking for.

It was a small garden square. From a distance, they could see a large Spatial Node, about two meters in diameter, in the center of the square.

The node was covered in blood-red markings, with runes flowing through them, forming a forbidden magic array that sealed the node inside. A few soldiers were stationed nearby, guarding it.

“We’re from Morning Star, here to inspect the node under orders,” Luca didn’t waste any time and directly showed his Morning Star credentials. This time, it was much easier— the soldiers guarding the node stepped aside without hesitation.

The three of them approached the node without any trouble, and now that they were close, they could see that it was covered by a layer of forbidden magic.

“High-level sealing magic?” Luca recognized the level of the magic and was somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected that someone from the Eastern Territory would be capable of such advanced magic.

“This is likely a seal set up by Brade Morningsong of Eastern Territory,” Donlow said after observing for a while. “Brade Morningsong is the strongest player in Eastern Territory. There are rumors that he’s already reached the threshold of Superclass.”

Upon hearing this name, Luca paused for a moment, his eyes flickering. After all, this name had been well-known in his previous life.

“Holy Son” Brade Morningsong, one of the top ten S-tier players in Summer Country, was also ranked in the top ten of the global leaderboard, possessing the S-tier talent “Yin-Yang Holy Eyes.”

Additionally, he had a hidden class, “Apostle of Forbidden Magic,” a top-tier class in the magic profession that ranked among the top three. No wonder Eastern Territory had been able to drive the monsters out of Wind City so quickly and successfully seal the high-level node. However, Luca hadn’t expected Brade Morningsong to be this powerful already.

After thinking for a moment, Donlow hesitated before speaking. “I’ve heard before that Lightless and Brade Morningsong are very close. The reason they stayed in the 303 Refuge is probably because they were tasked with guarding this high-level node for Brade Morningsong.”

The resources contained within high-level nodes were extremely rich, and even a player of Brade Morningsong’s caliber wouldn’t simply overlook it. The only reason it hadn’t been explored yet was likely because he didn’t have time at the moment.

Once things settled down, he would surely make a trip here. If they had already dealt with the node by then, Brade Morningsong definitely wouldn’t let it slide.

“Don’t worry about him,” Luca said as he walked toward the sealed high-level node. “By the time that guy realizes we’ve already explored this high-level node, he can go bother Drumph if he wants.”

Donlow, momentarily speechless, couldn’t help but laugh. It seemed her grandfather’s role was to deal with their aftermath. But hearing Luca’s words, she felt reassured.

Fuzzsir, on the other hand, wasn’t thinking about any of this.

“Let’s go, let’s go, hurry up and take a look! I’ve never been inside a node before,” he said excitedly, running ahead of Luca, eager to explore.

However, as he got closer to the node, he couldn’t figure out how to enter it.

“Don’t rush, let me disable the seal first,” Luca reminded him. The magic seals on this high-level node weren’t meant to contain monsters but were there to keep others away.

From this, it was clear that Brade Morningsong treated this high-level node as his personal property.

Since the creation of the Celestial Pearl and the establishment of the Battlefield of the Heavens, all global Spatial Nodes had been sealed, and the rules had changed. All monsters had been exiled to The Extraterritorial Battlefield.

Spatial Nodes served as gateways to The Extraterritorial Battlefield, linking different levels of battlefields, as well as the Abyssal Demon Realm, the real world, and the Eternal World.

Standing in front of the node, Luca’s hands glowed with shifting runes. Strange streams of light appeared in his hands and transformed into golden symbols, which he then infused into the node’s sealing magic array.

Immediately, the seals on the node began to malfunction, as though something had jammed. In just a few breaths, the once orderly magic array began to glitch, becoming chaotic and unstable.

Boom! With a resounding explosion, the magic array shattered into pieces! The previously sealed node was exposed to the air once more, though no monsters emerged from it.

That’s because all the monsters inside had already been directed toward The Extraterritorial Battlefield.

“Let’s go, let’s check it out,” Luca said after a brief inspection, confirming that there was no issue with the node. He took the first step and entered.

Donlow and Fuzzsir didn’t hesitate and followed closely behind.

Three beams of white light flashed, and the three of them simultaneously disappeared from the spot.

Meanwhile, Lightless, Halwind, and the others, who had been twitching on the ground, slowly began to rise. Their charred skin and frizzed hair made the nearby soldiers want to laugh, but they didn’t dare to.

“These damned bastards… I will make them pay!” Lightless had never suffered such a humiliating defeat. He gritted his teeth in fury, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Halwind and the others exchanged glances. Eventually, Halwind spoke up cautiously, “Big Brother, maybe we should report this to the branch. Mr. Brade Morningsong will definitely back us up.” Find exclusive stories on My Virtual Library Empire

It wasn’t that they didn’t want to get revenge on Luca, but the strength of those people was clearly beyond their ability to handle. Trying to confront them would be nothing short of suicidal.

The others nodded in agreement. The image of the thunderbolt still haunted their minds. They clearly understood that their opponents had held back and didn’t kill them. But if they were to provoke them again, who knew what would happen.

Just as Halwind finished speaking, Lightless slapped him across the face with a resounding blow, sending him spinning in place.

“Boss… why… why did you hit me?” Halwind was stunned, not knowing what had just happened.

Before he could recover, Lightless slapped him again, this time shouting angrily, “If you know what to do, then why are you still standing there? Hurry up and contact Mr. Brade Morningsong!”

They had been left behind to guard the high-level node for Brade Morningsong. Now that Luca was heading toward it, if they let him take the treasures inside, all of them would be in trouble. Though Halwind felt wronged, he didn’t dare waste time. He immediately pulled out a satellite phone and dialed Brade Morningsong.

The phone was quickly answered, and a calm male voice came through, “What is it?”
