Playing with other Supernaturals

Chapter 1339 The Right Time part 2

Before Kisuke left to meet his pretty master's mother, he made a final call to confirm things with Yoruichi, [I want to say not to mess things up, but you probably won't be able to hold yourself back when you see something interesting.]

Kisuke smiled wryly, "I doubt she'll give me any leeway to play around though?"

'You're a menace to those who don't know enough about you.' Yoruichi retorted inside her mind. She knew that voicing that out was useless, but she slightly hoped that he'll mess with her for a bit as a form of revenge for hurting her last time, [Anyway, be careful of her [Light]. It's not just some thermal ability.]

"[Light], eh? That's really interesting. I already came across an artifact that uses [Light] to weaken and train a Luxeux but didn't know that a [Shadow] ability could evolve like that." Kisuke muttered, recalling the time he saved and met Stralit for the first time with his real body, "It's the direct opposite of the spectrum, you know? It's like having a fire ability suddenly changing into an ice ability. But strangely enough, it still makes sense."

[From my further investigation, it seems that no one else from the current Luxeux Clan possesses something similar and if we were to convert it to our own ranking system, she's most likely on Super Devil rank.]

Super Devil. A special rank is designated for special individuals of the Devil race due to their innate ability to mutate and break all conventional limits. However, it doesn't designate strength. Claire is a Super Devil in Kisuke's opinion, but even with her special ability, she has no way of winning against actual Super Devils like Sirzechs, Ajuka, Serafall, Issei, and Vali.

Regarding Claire's ability, it was discovered with intensive testing that her [Silver Light] could only nullify the formation of abilities one energy type at a time. It means that when she released her ability to disable Magic, any other system that uses a different type of energy is still free from any restrictions. 'And not even against Sona who could just switch from normal Water Magic to Corrupted Water or Riveria who can quickly adapt depending on the situation.'

Among Kisuke's group, it was actually Riveria who improved the most with her soaking everything up even unique abilities of different lineages and one of the most terrifying and mysterious people in Ouroboros Academy from the outside perspective, 'Though most of her effectiveness will disappear as soon as you find a way to blind her.'

That's why Kisuke wasn't surprised when he saw Riveria conjuring various protective spells on her head that could be considered over the top while sacrificing her body and leaving it mostly defenseless. As long as her head is intact, she can always regenerate her whole body with various Recovery Magic that she learned.

"Anyways, I'm going. If she tries probing me, I'm not going to just stand there quietly." Kisuke ended the call after saying a few goodbyes. Based on how this is going to end up, it might be time for him to return to the surface and he found himself actually a bit excited for it since it has been a while since he properly talked to everyone.

Kisuke went through several gates just like how he does when he occasionally meets with Seraselbes, 'I wonder how her mother will react if she found out that her precious daughter is good friends with one of the overlords among the Evies?' He thought to himself before he stepped into the last one.

This was the main reason why he didn't want to 'burn this bridge'. If he could actually come into an agreement with the Holy Mother, it'll also be a lot easier to work with Seraselbes as the latter's main goal is to have an open dialogue between the two camps and ultimately come into a truce.

'Still, how in the world did those two meet and, impossibly, become friends?' These lingering thoughts immediately left Kisuke as he arrived into complete darkness, 'Yoruichi had to be invited in to reach this place yet she just tossed me in here, huh?'

Kisuke then saw a tiny twinkle of light in the distance, 'Not even a word, huh?' He thought with a chuckle and compared his current experience to what Yoruichi told her, 'Is this for messing with their daughter or a countermeasure to someone like Yoruichi?'

He stared at the tiny light that would disappear intermittently before suddenly grinning and turning around. Those who were watching him wondered what he was doing until he suddenly broke into a sprint, opposite of the direction they wanted him to go, [!? Wait! Stop!]

Just like Yoruichi, Kisuke knew the implications of veering off the right path. And his reaction to the voice? He ignored it.

"So that's Kisuke Urahara... He's more plain than I thought." Corvina's aide, Adrenna, commented while watching Kisuke enter the pitch-black space through the screen. Of course, she's not referring to his appearance. His face, body, and attire, nothing of that matter to her really. What she's looking at is his movement, mannerisms, and aura. Right now, Kisuke only looks like some random guy they could find anywhere.

But when she said 'plain', it's actually a compliment of how well he could hide.

Corvina who's standing beside her was also impressed, "A sign of true master, I see. You said that he isn't even 30 in Draconic Deus years? Can something like this really be learned with that short amount of time?"

"According to my investigation, he's an odd one even in their standard. That also extends to those around him so we don't really know what to expect."

The two of them silently watched him for a bit more to figure him out better but soon enough, they were confused, "Why is he just standing there? Could it be that he doesn't trust that light?" Adrenna asked.

"Might be." Corvina sighed and was about to talk to him when all of a sudden, he turned around and started sprinting "!? Wait! Stop!"

But he didn't listen. Soon, he disappeared from the screen, engulfed by the darkness.

Corvina sighed once again and this time, while rubbing the bridge of her nose, "He fell."

Adrenna was silent for a whole minute out of shock and asked, "I certainly recalled including the instructions on how to navigate that corridor... What is he thinking?"

"I knew you wouldn't make that mistake so don't worry about it. He probably wanted to test this space out of curiosity."

"Should we take it down now?"

"Well, there's no point in waiting. I just don't know where he'll appear. If he's unlucky, he'll be stranded somewhere really isolated that he won't have a chance of reaching anything." Corvina started the procedure for powering down the dark space. She wanted to be done before their guest did something even more stupid.

"Didn't you have safety measures for this?"

"I do... But they are useless if he tried tampering with them. And I have a feeling that he'll do something wrong while poking around. I have to hurry."

"What a well designed trap. That's really good for securing and blocking places but still allowing entry for those invited."

Adrenna was about to instinctively reply but she immediately realized that something was wrong, 'Wait... That's not Corvina's voice?'

Corvina and Adrenna then absentmindedly turned their heads to the source of the voice and found a man with a green and white bucket hat standing in the middle of them, "Is it possible for me to learn how to do this too?" He asked while looking at the screen, full of interest.
