Chapter 1882: Western Front
Two days later.
Sam and Mitra are standing on a cliff as they watched into the horizon.
They are looking at the operating area of their next missions. They are transferred and they weren't even given a proper brief. They could whatever they want as long as they could stop the invasion of the giants even a little bit.
Right now, in this area the activity of the giants is way too much. They are attacking it from the two fronts. The third side is the sea and the fourth side is a wasteland that has yet to be properly explored and developed.
Sam and Mitra are standing in that fourth direction as they looked at the warzone.
One could say that this is the most active warzone when it comes to the giants in this planet.
The five cities might have more influence of giants since they captured and occupied a vast territory. Ut the bloodshed happening there, even now after two factions were destroyed and three factions were thrown in chaos is nowhere near the bloodshed happening here.
And all of this is being caused by three giant tribes that are working perfectly well.
The Lightning Giants, the Metal Giants and finally the Chaos Giants.
They Chaos Giants are not exactly a tribe that has a single elemental affinity and it is not on par with other tribes when it comes to history.
It was more recently established, but still has enough power to stand along with the rest.
And these three giant tribes have this unwavering alliance for some reason and they are getting great results.
They dealt some serious blow to the human territories.
They isolated this territory from the rest. If humans want to send reinforcements, they either have to attack the giants from their rear or use spatial transfer to come to the aid of the humans in the middle.
But it is almost impossible to mobilize large amount of forces to do either of these.
Once they mobilize, other fronts will be weaker. Even the humans at five cities will have a tough time.
Humans made a big mistake when they are managing their forces. Because they didn't take a factor into consideration. Of course, no one can blame them. Because the factor itself is completely unknown to them.
If they knew that this factor existed, they would have made at least some efforts to resist against it.
And that factor is another player.
Sam looked at the terrain in front of him and waved his hand.
Hundreds of puppets left along with more than hundred shadows. Shadow mice are now in charge of everything that is related to gathering information. They are the best in that regard.
"Let's go to our new reporting area and meet our new superior. I would like to know what they are trying to do from their own mouths."
Sam and Mitra went to the camp after that.
The situation of the camp is pretty bad. There are a lot of injured soldiers and the soldiers that are active are being overly used. Their resources are being exhausted. Of course, the main camp is trying to send as much assistance as possible.
But they couldn't do much.
After talking to the commander Sam and Mitra went to the nearest lake for another barbeque.
He waited for the shadow mice to get some basic info.
He finished meal by the time information came. Sam sat on the bank with his feet inside the water. There is a smile on his face as he went through the information.
Mitra looked at him and asked.
"Why do you have that pleasant smile? Is there a good news?"
"Not good news perse. But some of my expectations are real. From the information we got from the camp and the information I gathered, I am sure who is the person that is making the war lean towards the Giants."
"What? You know? Who is it?"
"You could say, it's a friend of mine."
Mitra was shocked. His aura raged as he looked at Sam. Of course, his anger is not directed at him. But he is still pretty angry.
"Why is a friend of yours trying to destroy humans?"
"The same reason that I am trying to help humans. There is nothing much to it and there is definitely nothing personal."
"What…"
"Stop with the useless questions. We need to make a move. Pick a target, east or west? Which side do you want to deal with first?"
"I think the west side would be better. The eastern city was taken over already. The giants are consolidating the new territory. Even though they are active and offensive, it is not as much as the western front.
If we are careless, the western city would be taken down by the Western Front."
"That's true. Let's go then. We will go to the western front."
For the next two days, Sam spent all of his time scouting and whenever he did, he made use of all of his shadow mice to focus on a very small concentrated area. Within these two days he already prepared a plan to move forward.
"Alright, on the western front, the Chaos Giants are most active when fighting with humans. They are acting as a vanguard. The Lightning Giants are second and are acting as the driving force when a decisive battle is emerging.
Finally, the Metal giants are just giving support and are focusing on establishing proper defense.
The human side on the other hand are on complete defensive, they are trying to cope with the constant attacks of the Chaos Giants"
Sam muttered as he created a projection of the western battlefield.
"I already understand all of this. What are we going to do moving forward? Just tell me that. Looking at the state here, I am itching for a battle."
"Don't worry, my friend. As I said, I already have a plan. But for that, we need the help of some human squads."
"Their help?"
"Yeah, I will give you a batch of special trinkets that I made, tell each and every squad to carry them. At least three to four per a regular squad of twenty-four people. And whenever they face with a special situation in the forest that they are working around in.
Whenever their squad encounters a trouble, whether if they are attacked by the beasts or if they fell into an intricate vine trap, or if they are infected by some seriously powerful natural poison or an infectous disease, tell them to take out the pills within the gadget and swallow them before activating it.
That is all they have to do. And I will run the remaining game."
As Sam spoke to Mitra, he sent another batch of shadow mice and puppets within the western forest. This time, they are not investigating, instead they are throwing in some very small seeds that are being merged within the soil and small shoots of grass grew from it.
After that, he gave a few spatial rings to Mitra before sending him to the main human camp.
"Now that we are here, lets reduce the kill count as much as possible. And lets see how well I will do when I am playing in the same field as that person.
Let me see how far you have truly improve in that hell."
He muttered to himself as he waved his hand. Another batch of puppets went. But these are much more smaller than the smallest puppets of Dusk. They are just like bugs that are natural. The biggest one is only as big as an egg.
And these things didn't enter the forest, instead they are headed towards the main camp of the giants.
"Let's play, my dear friend."
Sam muttered as he waited for Mitra to come back. This time, the battle is going to be interesting and in fact it actually started.
