1794 Aftermath

Kumar just kept on staring at the rock Sam sat on.

He couldn’t help but lose himself in a daze. The things that Sam did that day, he couldn’t even wrap his head around it.

He knew that Sam is in a different league than him and the rest of the players. But to think that the difference is this big. Sam didn’t even come face to face with him. He didn’t even hit him once, he didn’t even touch him once, he didn’t even confront him.

But he still managed to make Kumar do what he wanted, think what he wanted, say what he wanted, and play what he wanted.

He couldn’t help but feel the chills running down his pain.

That’s when another reality hit him.

Sam has not just playing with him. He played with a Divine Plane cultivator and with a technique that has never been seen before, he managed to keep the Divine plane cultivator cautious and occupied enough for Sam to just go in and take away the kid.

Right under the nose of that Divine Plane cultivator. This is nothing short of a miracle for him. As far as he knows, none of the players are capable of doing anything similar. Nothing they can accomplish will ever be close to any of the things Sam did in these two days.

He doesn’t know if Sam realizes how much he is growing and what kind of capabilities he holding. But he felt like all the achievements that Sam had all these years, are just barely on the surface. The real depth of what he can do will only be achieved in the future.

.....

Meanwhile, Sam is not thinking as much as Kumar.

He never really bothered to gauge his overall strength, and he also never really compared himself with any other players or peers. All he ever did is learn new things and improve his skill set so that he can be prepared for every scenario he can imagine.

Right now, all he is thinking about is how Maya is kissing her youngest child.

“The kid has been on a weird diet of breast milk over the days. Do you mind if I check the condition a bit?”

“Of course.”

Maya didn’t even hesitate before handing over the kid.

Sam checked her a bit and injected his own spiritual energy to get rid of the residual energy remnants.

“It is not necessary to make the kid go through this horrendous process right now. They have plenty of opportunities to realize their true potential.

Just let them enjoy their childhood a bit.”

Maya nodded and just rocked her child trying to let it sleep.

Sam sat down and meditated for a while. He expended all of his Divine Energy. It is the first time he did that. It will take a bit of time for him to recover all of it back and he figured it is better to keep his distance from direct action a bit.

He decided to take the night off and move the next morning.

Back at Magman city.

Kumar went back to the city in the same daze. He looked at the clan leader and then at the young master before giving the recording to them.

“It is two of your rival clans that did that. Take a look at this.”

The clan leader frowned and took the video. When he was done with it, his face turned red in anger. He looked at Baryn and commanded.

“Ready the forces. We are going to war. Do they really think I am a fucking pushover? I will kill them all if that is what it takes to save the child.”

Kumar didn’t really care about those loud declarations. He turned to the clan leader and spoke.

“I am leaving. My mission failed. I need to get out of here.”

“Where are you going?”

“My friend is a couple of cities away. I will meet her and go back home after she is done with her work.”

He didn’t bother to talk anymore and turned away. He took out a beast from a beast pocket and then took off to meet Noah.

After around half an hour, he reached the city Noah is in.

She also scored a residence within the city and the whole city is currently on a defensive mode.

Her job is also to save the kid and she actually has an easier situation compared to Kumar. When she saw Kumar, she couldn’t help but have a sinking feeling in his heart.

“What happened? Why are you here already?”

“I lost. Sam took the child away?”

“Already? It has only been a couple of days though.”

“Yes, but he managed to take two children away. He is using the war to his maximum advantage.”

“How is this possible?” Noah is stunned, to say the least.

“He picked up some new tricks and this time, it is fitting well with all of his existing tricks, amplifying them to a great extent. Right now, I think he is stronger than ever and he doesn’t even realize how strong he is.”

“How strong is he? Don’t tell me he dueled a Divine Plane cultivator and won. I don’t think I will be able to take it if it’s real.”

“No, Noah. Whatever I experienced. It is far more powerful than that.

I was defeated by Sam and he didn’t even have to look me in the eyes to do that. He made me dance in his palm and almost made me hand over the child for him to take. I couldn’t have been able to stop him no matter how I think about it.

It is almost like all this while, he is holding back.”

“I mean, he is holding back a bit and he is already known to use his tricks first and kicks later. Why are you so shook this time?”

“You don’t understand Noah. You will know when you see it. For some reason, I feel like we are not playing with a peer anymore. He is different now. I never really understood the significance of the things he was learning.

Even if he is strong and powerful and even if all of those tricks he used were resourceful and made things easy for him, this time when I see the effects of all these things combined together.

Today, he just made an energy-gathering formation that explodes and he injected a bit of divine energy into it.

But that is not the key part of it. His formation managed to create an amplified version of the explosion within the city. It bypassed all of the security formations and all kinds of defense established by the city.

What if he can amplify every kind of destruction he created all this while?”

“Don’t overthink it, Kumar. Take some rest. I could use your help right now since you know what Sam is going to do. Let’s go. I am sure we can handle him a bit if we work together.”

Kumar nodded and went to help her.

While Sam and Kumar are resting for the night, the three clans they got involved with have become restless.

Right now, Shijin is on thin ice. He got the news that Sam’s presence has appeared in Magman city.

Karn on the other hand is also in trouble with his clan. But he was forgiven since he had the best interests on clan in his mind. The clan quickly supported him and now they are on their plans to deal with Shijin and his clan.

Shijin’s father though started having doubts since Shijin is not showing any progress.

Sooner or later he is going to be on Shijin’s back.

But the whole thing just lit up when the Magman clan’s leader openly declared that he is coming to deal with Shijin and Karn unless they handover the child back.

Overnight, the war that has been going on behind the scenes has come to light. Particularly the Magman clan’s leader is very much a maniac. He came with his sword and is ready to fight anyone and everyone.

The remaining clans that are focusing on this situation and are involved in the war became cautious.

They understood that the variables are too many and any small trigger could make their clan into the Next Magman clan.

Everyone is speculating. Shijin’s father claimed that their clan’s child disappeared and now Magman clan’s child disappeared.

If both of these claims are true, they know for a fact that some big moves are being done.

Of course, out of all the remaining twenty-two clans, not everyone has the luxury to sit aside and focus on this topic.

Because one of the seven clans that had the child is currently defending against three other clans. These three clans actually teamed up and are now working together, because of their longstanding relationship.

And this place is where two of the players are also clashing against each other. One tries to help one of the three clans to get the child and the other tries to save the child.
