“Xiu, have you finished packing your luggage?” Qin Xue called out to Fang Xiu from outside her room.

Fang Xiu watched her son and Qin Xue leave and smiled. It felt good to have a friend who understood her so well. She couldn’t be greedy. Whatever was meant to be hers would eventually come to her, and what was not meant to be hers was not worth pursuing. This was something she learned from Qin Xue: to let things happen naturally.

When Qin Xue returned to the room with Jingtao, she saw Chu Molin playing tangram with the two kids. Qin Xue had instructed someone to custom-make the tangram set to aid the children’s intellectual development. She had also planned to have a picture turned into a jigsaw puzzle for them to play with.
