Chapter 156: Shen Rushuang Sent For Me

A shadow fell over her heart when the young lady heard those familiar words. “I am sorry,” she said with an ugly expression. “According to our personnel records, Shen Rushuang is no longer an employee here. You should contact him directly.”

“Oh?” Wang Wen thought for a moment and said, “How can that be? He was the one who asked me to come to the Tiansheng Group to get relics from the vault. He said that someone would help me. Does that mean he was fired?”

The woman’s eyes widened in surprise when she heard that. “Who are you?” she asked, her legs trembling beneath her short skirt. “What do you intend to do?”

Wang Wen smiled and said, “Did you forget me? Didn’t I say that Shen Rushuand summoned me here to get some relics? Please get him to bring me to the vault as soon as possible.”

The young lady behind the reception desk was terrified. “But he’s no longer—” She almost sobbed. “Fine, I will help you with your inquiry.”

She picked up the phone and dialed the appropriate department. “Someone in the lobby claims to have been sent by Shen Rushuang to retrieve some relics. Please come to the lobby on the first floor to handle it.”

“I have already reported it,” she said to Wang Wen, her face bitter. “Someone will be here to handle your situation as soon as possible. Please wait a moment.”

Wang Wen nodded gratefully. Then he walked around the lobby structure, memorizing every corner as much as he could in his mind.

He lacked the man in green’s ability.

If a swarm of machine guns and missiles appeared, he would have to flee for his life. As a result, he needed to plan his escape route ahead of time to ensure his safety.

Soon after, a middle-aged woman sweating profusely descended the stairs. She jogged to the front desk and asked, “Where is Shen Rushuang? Wasn’t he already fired? Why did he return to get the relics?”

The lovely receptionist noticed that the other party had misunderstood her meaning and looked as if she was about to cry. Wang Wen walked over just as she was about to open her mouth. She quickly shut her mouth, afraid of being implicated.

The middle-aged woman blinked, perplexed.

Wang Wen gave her a friendly smile. “So Shen Rushuang was fired,” he said politely. “That makes sense, then. He summoned me to the Tiansheng Group to retrieve some relics. He must have intended to exact revenge. I am not certain either. I am just a messenger. Would you please direct me to the treasure vault?”

When she heard that, the middle-aged woman looked at him with suspicion. “Shen Rushuang’s firing was an internal matter,” she said impatiently. “We can’t allow you to do whatever you want. You understand, errand boy? That is the Tiansheng Group, not a place for you to misbehave! ”

Wang Wen approached her with an odd expression on his face. “I said I was an errand boy, and you truly treat me as such.”

The lovely receptionist noticed that the atmosphere had deteriorated. She did not have time to warn the middle-aged woman. She turned around and howled as she ran away. She was so nervous that one of her high heels had broken.

Regardless of how long the middle-aged woman’s reflex was, she could tell something was wrong.

She panicked and asked, “Who are you? What do you want?” Wang Wen laughed.

“Don’t worry; I do not hit women.” Wang Wen pulled a small silver-white pistol from his pocket. The gun’s muzzle was pressed against her brow. “Take me to the vault.”

The middle-aged woman was eager to examine the pistol closely to determine whether it was genuine.

Unfortunately, her legs trembled violently.

Her entire body collapsed to the ground, making it impossible for her to concentrate on the pistol’s structure.

She could only apologize helplessly. “You must believe me. I have no idea where the vault is, but my superior must know about it. I will bring you to him!”

Wang Wen’s expression softened slightly as he observed the woman’s decency. He nodded and motioned for her to take the lead.

The middle-aged woman struggled for a while but was unable to rise. “Hey, can you help me up?” she asked; she seemed sad. “My legs are extremely weak for the first time in my life.”

Wang Wen’s physique had grown, and his strength had skyrocketed. He effortlessly lifted her. He walked forward; gun pointed at the back of the woman’s head.

The moment the gun’s muzzle was pointed at her, her muscles were visibly tense and stiff.

“I have been very cooperative,” she said, sobbing. “You must exercise extreme caution to avoid misfiring.”

“Don’t worry; there are no bullets in the gun,” Wang Wen comforted her.

The middle-aged woman breathed a huge sigh of relief when she heard that. “Amazing! You must be having a good time. Isn’t that terrifying?

She had not finished her thought when several security guards dashed out of the stairwell. They could have gotten the message from the receptionist. They drew their pistols and aimed at Wang Wen and the middle-aged woman as soon as they entered the lobby.

The middle-aged woman was taken aback. “Don’t worry; he has no bullets in his gun,” she yelled to the security guards.

Bang!

A ball of distorted air exploded. A few bodyguards screamed and twitched as they fell to the ground. There was no movement within a few moments.

The middle-aged woman tensed again.

Her throat made a sound, but she could not say anything.

She turned her head and looked at the small silver pistol she thought was empty of bullets.

“I am not lying to you,” Wang Wen patiently explained. “There are no bullets at all. That was poison. Tower climbers use traps; how can we use guns?”

The road behind them was smooth.

The middle-aged woman said nothing as she led Wang Wen to the second-floor office hall.

Wang Wen’s gun-wielding appearance startled the staff at the door when they walked in.

A few of them pretended to be brave and shouted, “What are you doing?”

The middle-aged woman did not dare to speak. She continued walking toward the supervisor’s office.

“Everyone, continue working,” Wang Wen said after a brief moment of thought. “Don’t worry about us.”

Wang Wen’s expression changed when he realized his voice was calm and did not sound fierce.

The man closest to him raised his hand and took the small silver pistol from his grasp.

Wang Wen did not even have to shut his eyes. He turned around and stared at the man. The man slammed his chair against the wall and landed on his back.

Everyone in the office hall was startled by the loud noise.

The situation quickly devolved into chaos.

Everyone stood up.

When the first person cried out, it was as if a chain reaction had occurred. Everyone in the hall screamed. Some hid beneath the table, others pressed against the wall, and others dashed for the door. Some people yelled for help through the open windows. Some trembled as they dialed their cell phones.

Wang Wen frowned as he observed the tumultuous scene. He turned around and picked up the warrior who had snatched the pistol. He closed his eyes for two seconds before opening them again.

Boom!

The man and half of the wall he was leaning against flew away, leaving a hole half a person’s height.

Wang Wen reasoned that it would keep things quiet.

In reality, it got even louder.

Everyone started screaming and fleeing.

Some even threw themselves out the window.

Wang Wen was utterly helpless.

He shook his head and decided to let them go.

The middle-aged woman was already trembling. Wang Wen’s gun pushed against her. She was so terrified that her entire body tensed. She pointed to the office door with a trembling finger and said, “He’s—”

Wang Wen’s eyes followed her finger.

He noticed that the figure who had peered out the office door to assess the situation had quickly retreated and shut the door tightly.

Wang Wen led the middle-aged woman to the door, which shattered instantly.
