Tee pulled out the sword from his chest and staggered even further back away from Hal who was now smiling at him with wicked intentions.
Tee's first instinctual thought at that moment was to get as far away from Hal and give himself enough space to swallow a mending pill and at least heal himself enough to not be so easily done in as his partner in battle had been.
Even as he moved back, he was stricken with fear, especially from how ineffective his attack seemed to have been to Hal despite how much impact it had obviously had.
He never got the chance to use a mending pill though as Hal vanished and rematerialized in front of him before he could retrieve it from his spatial ring.
What followed was a quick killing that, just like Vee's, seemed like it had cost Hal nothing.
Two Dystopians down, their blood essence that was filled with demon beast energy absorbed to further improve his bloodline, and Hal now had a taste.
He was (For want of a better word) bloodthirsty and quickly set his sights on everyone present in the hall aside from his ladies before going on what could best be described as a rampage.
Engaging in combat with as many as he could reach and without holding anything back to kill as many as he could.
As he moved, his ladies were not idle with Rita already on her third kill who she just punctured in the chest with her sharp and wickedly strong tail... With him down, she struck her next victim with her tail as though it were a whip before quickly following up by shooting a lust flame arrow into his chest.
Marla was using her physique and her Armament in her attacks with a certain level of bloodthirst that should be expected of her judging by her disposition towards battle and murder and Sassy was constantly shifting between serpent form and human form to win against as many opponents as she could.
Even getting quite a number of those around her affected by her poisonous mist which made them even easier pickings.
Valerie was still holding her own but had been pushed to use her inheritance further to the point where she was now using abilities that should only belong to peak cosmic Pagoda realm experts and further amplified the abilities with her Armaments.
All in all, things were going well for Hal's group and as had been proclaimed before, they did not stop with the killing of the Dystopians.
Anyone who was not a member of their group was killed without remorse or mercy.
As Hal fought, he felt a headache setting in and it was a type that he could not ignore as his head started getting filled with images of battles happening in other halls.
Battles either involving some of his women or none of them at all.
He was connected to the Monument somehow and the easiest explanation he could give for that connection was that it was because of his connection to the Primordial Principle of Order...
As the images flooded his head, Hal felt as though he could reach out to them and use them as gateways into those sections of the Monument.
In fact, this feeling was becoming more predominant to the point where Hal was already starting to consider it (The ability to travel to other sections of the monument) to be fact.
That said, Hal suffered in silence and did not let the images impact how he fought which would have been hard to do if he was actually facing powerful experts of the Dystopian continent but he was not.
Everyone who was in this hall, while impressive, had no powerful abilities or clan-unique powers that would truly put them at the height of power on the Dystopian continent.
Even the two Semi-Transcendent experts that Hal had killed should not be used as a yardstick of power to be compared with the actual top echelons of the Dystopian.
Hal would put Reyna (The Dystopian Lieutenant he had met while he fought in the war between Haron and Dystopia) above any of them even though she was not even in the Semi-Transcendent beast realm... At least she had not been in that realm when Hal met her last.
This was not to say they were not good as their cultivation was more than enough to express that they were capable but they were just not as capable as some fellows Hal could have and should have met if this arrangement was truly random.
"It's not random" Hal mumbled as the final enemy in the hall was killed by Valerie.
There was nothing random about all this (in regards to power levels), and he could tell that with certainty.
The more images he got in his head about other sections(Halls) of the monument, the more he learned about the varying power levels, with them all grouped into sections in accordance to how much of a threat they could pose and how difficult they could be for him to overcome.
He saw Melinda in one of the sections and she was with Emily and they were with a few members of the Haron imperial family with the most predominantly noticeable and notable one being the Eldest prince, Creten Haron.
The group was having a stand-off against a bunch of Dystopians who evidently had Dragonlike and Phoenix-like features to point out that they were a part of two of the strongest clans in the Dystopian continent.
In another section, Hal saw Karmen with Olivia, Lillian, and Amelia and they were there with a couple of Doxon scions, most notable mentions of them being the previously tight-knit Doxon trio; Ivan, Artyom, and Elora, and they were facing off against Dystopians belonging to another of the greatest clans of the Dystopian Continent.
"Someone is screwing with me," Hal said and that statement was further backed up by the voice of the monument speaking into his ear,
'Which shall you visit first?'
Maybe it was the fact that he heard it this time so close to his ear and so personal, but Hal finally remembered where he had heard that voice before and it only cause his eyes to narrow further.
Before he could truly delve into the remembrance though, multiple colored glows shrouded everyone remaining in the hall (which was only Hal and his small group of ladies) and drew them all into separate and private sections of the Monument where they were flooded with the Ordinance that best suited them.
Hal, still capable of sensing them all was practically able to see the look of joy and accomplishment on their faces as all three of them (Rita, Marla, and Valerie) quickly crossed their legs to begin the long and Arduous process of the comprehending an Ordinance.
Hal was in his own separate section as well but he was in the section with his familiar, Sassy who, on account of being a Familiar was cursed to share in all of her Master's success and all of his failures, could not comprehend an Ordinance of her own.
She would be sharing whatever Ordinance Hal was able to comprehend... The only thing that Sassy had to focus on was the evolution of the strength of her serpent bloodline whose evolution currently relied on her feeding on Hal's blood.
Anyway, Hal did not cross his legs in his section of the Monument and he was not flooded with an ordinance that was fit for him.
The situation confused him and the sudden addition of someone else into what should have been a private Ordinance comprehending room should have made it worse but when he could more clearly see who the addition was, he only cocked his head in annoyance.
"You!" he said with a frown and the bald monk spread his arms with the same benign smile he had on his face the first time Hal met him at the bridge connecting the Mortal realm to the Nether Realm.
"We meet again," the monk said with such a benign tone, that it was hard to imagine that he could ever have wicked thoughts or intentions.
(This is the Monk that Hal met in Chapter 2 at the bridge between the mortal realm and the Nether realm)
The fact that the monk said 'we meet again' confirmed Hal's suspicion that he know exactly who he was talking to.
Since he had not yet taken over this body, Hal had looked different- he had looked the way he looked when he was still human when they met. (At least this is what Hal believed, seeing as he never actually saw his own face while being in a soul form)
However, that did not seem to be stopping the monk from recognizing him.
Hal said nothing and only stared at the monk as though he were prompting him to speak and the monk picked up on that,
"You have done quite well for yourself," he said while casting a quick look at Sassy who was standing not too far away from Hal and was shifting subtly into a defensive stance as she could sense her Master's disinterest in this monk despite the fact there was a bit of familiarity.
Meanwhile, Hal was not exactly sure what to say... He had only had a few minutes to think after he recognized that the voice of the monument was the same as the voice of the monk he met before he even started his cultivation journey...
He had not yet come to terms with the reveal and he really hated being speechless...
