Chapter 925: Kaizen versus Thor (part 3)

Thor growled in frustration as he was pushed back by the wave of energy. His expression, a mixture of admiration and fury, reflected the intensity of the battle. Kaizen's psychic blades sliced through the air, blazing like fiery meteors towards the god of thunder.

Thor masterfully spun Mjölnir, blocking some of the blades, while others found their targets, leaving shallow cuts in his divine skin.

"You're starting to piss me off, mortal," Thor roared, his voice echoing through the celestial hall.

Kaizen didn't respond, maintaining his concentration. He knew that words would be useless against such a powerful and determined god. Instead, he focused all his psychic energy on keeping the pressure on Thor, preparing for the next series of attacks. His hands trembled slightly with the effort, but he couldn't afford to falter now.

Thor advanced again, his imposing figure illuminated by the lightning that snaked across the sky. His every step seemed to make the ground tremble, and Kaizen felt a wave of apprehension as he realized that Thor was getting closer. The god of thunder raised Mjölnir, ready to strike a devastating blow.

Kaizen reacted instinctively, erecting another psychic barrier and reinforcing it with all his strength.

The impact was deafening. The psychic barrier glowed brightly, absorbing the force of Mjölnir's blow, but Kaizen felt the shock reverberate throughout his body. His muscles burned, and a thin line of blood ran from his nose. He knew he couldn't sustain that defense for long.

"You're resilient, I'll give you that," Thor said with a slight smile. "However, that's nowhere near enough to defeat me."

Kaizen narrowed his eyes, feeling determination growing inside him. He had to think of something fast, a strategy that could turn the tide in his favor. Closing his eyes for a brief moment, he visualized the battlefield in his mind, calculating every move, every possible outcome.

When he opened his eyes again, Kaizen's mind was made up. With one fluid movement, he dispelled the psychic barrier and leapt backwards, creating a crucial distance between himself and Thor. The god of thunder hesitated for a moment, surprised by the sudden change of tactics.

"Are you running away, mortal?" Thor teased, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

"I'm not running away," Kaizen replied, his voice firm. "I'm just getting ready."

Before Thor could react, Kaizen concentrated all his psychic energy on a single point, his hands shaking with the intensity of the power. The psychic flames around him increased in intensity, turning into a blazing inferno. He launched himself forward with superhuman speed, his spear shining like a beacon of psychic light.

Thor tried to block with Mjölnir, but Kaizen was ready. He dodged at the last second, changing the trajectory of his attack and striking Thor in the flank. The god of thunder cried out in pain, staggering to the side. Kaizen took advantage of the opening, unleashing a series of quick, precise blows, each imbued with his psychic energy.

The battle became a hurricane of strength and agility. Thor counterattacked with raw power, each blow from Mjölnir shaking the celestial hall. Kaizen responded with speed and precision, his psychic blades slicing through the air with a deadly glare. The hall was now in chaos, with columns crumbling and marble fragments flying in all directions.

"You fight well, mortal. Who trained you?" Thor shouted, blocking a particularly fierce blow.

"Life. Life trained me."

Kaizen wasn't shaken by Thor's words. He knew he needed something more, one last card that could guarantee his victory. With a final effort, he concentrated all his remaining energy into a devastating attack. His psychic flames intensified, turning into a tornado of fire that enveloped his body.

"Psychokinesis... maximum level!" Kaizen muttered, his voice almost inaudible in the midst of the chaos.

Thor advanced, determined to end the battle once and for all. Mjölnir glowed with lightning energy, ready to strike the final blow. But Kaizen was ready. With a battle cry, he launched his psychic spear with all the force he possessed.

The impact was catastrophic. The psychic spear collided with Mjölnir in a spectacle of light and energy, creating a shockwave that swept through the hall.

Thor was thrown backwards, his body colliding with one of the remaining columns, which collapsed under the impact.

Kaizen fell to his knees, exhausted. His vision was blurred, and he could feel the psychic energy draining from his body. He knew he couldn't go on much longer. Breathing heavily, he looked at Thor, who was slowly rising from the rubble.

"You... you're still standing?" Kaizen muttered, incredulous.

Thor stood up, an expression of pure determination on his face. "You are strong, mortal, but I am a god."

With a final effort, Thor raised Mjölnir, his eyes blazing with the fury of thunder. Kaizen tried to get up, but his strength deserted him. He knew it was over.

Thor stepped forward, his hammer ready to strike the final blow. Kaizen closed his eyes, accepting his fate. The sound of thunder filled the hall, followed by a deafening silence.

When Kaizen opened his eyes again, he was lying on the floor, his body sore and exhausted. Thor was standing beside him, Mjölnir in hand, but he hadn't struck the final blow. Instead, he held out his hand to Kaizen, a sign of respect.

"You fought bravely, mortal." Thor said, his voice soft.

Kaizen accepted Thor's hand. He had lost the battle fairly, that was undeniable.

"What will happen to me now?"

"You deserve to live to fight another day with me, but I'm not the one to decide that."

Thor then took a step back, allowing me to stand on my own. Feeling every muscle protest, I straightened up as best I could and faced the gods.

Baldur, with his golden hair and serene gaze, was the first to speak. "He has proved himself capable of fighting a god. The sentence is clear now... Kaizen you are condemned to..."

Before he could finish, Odin raised his hand, interrupting him.
