Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy
Chapter 764: 690: Earth-shattering SensationChapter 764: Chapter 690: Earth-shattering Sensation
Before the expedition here, Ivan had been told that upon death, the creatures of the Ash Plane would turn to ashes, leaving no corpses, which was quite bizarre.
At this moment, however, he had a different feeling; the enemies were evidently not killed.
This was not a true death. With his ability, he could easily discern this, which meant the situation was not that simple, and the enemies were very likely to have a backup plan.
“Let’s take it step by step; I believe I’m not the only one who feels this way.”
The surrounding chaotic energy gradually calmed down. Ivan noticed that others had similar encounters, all having to face enemies who suddenly chose mutual destruction.
He did not step forward to help, believing that everyone could handle it.
“Victory!”
“Follow me into the Ash Domain, a tooth for a tooth, blood for blood.”
Not long after, the Dusk Battlefield was completely breached, and Danaila’s group seized the opportunity to enter the Ash Plane’s homeland, expecting to reach that mysterious Ash Domain.
After Ivan and others crossed the Dusk Battlefield at their fastest pace, they found something amiss; the scene seemed very familiar.
This was actually another Dusk Battlefield, facing twice the enemies. As before, these people concealed their true appearances, making it impossible to see their real faces.
“Things are indeed not that simple,” Ivan murmured, his expression somewhat grave.
“Why fear them? For every pair, we kill a pair, all the way down. I just don’t believe these sneaky guys can keep coming endlessly,” Barbaric Hammer said boisterously.
Though he appeared carefree, he was actually a bit perplexed inside.
Many turned their eyes to the Sea Mother, as the Inner Earth faction had sent scouts into the Ash Plane before, bringing back a lot of information, and they were involved in confirming some key information.
“Let’s find a way to suppress them, and probe~ their depths,” the Sea Mother suggested.
“Alright.”
Upon hearing this, others did not waste words.
Changes in the situation are normal; a major plane has never remained constant. Wartime and peacetime should not be discussed as one, and what the previous sentries saw was undoubtedly the peacetime Ash Plane.
At present, however, it was the wartime Ash Plane.
Compared with the Dusk Battlefield just now, the overall environment and topography were similar, yet there was a thread of restless aura high above, with occasional flashes of thunderfire, and the ground vaguely revealed subterranean fire.
“Kill!”
The enemies didn’t give them respite, directly attacking from the other side of the battlefield, still preparing to face them two to one.
Seeing this, Ivan and others did not hesitate, once more charging against these enemies clad in dark red armor, this time keeping closer distances among teammates for better cooperation.
While the battle below erupted, the fight above was also ongoing.
The Ancient Ancestor of Dark Mountain was still pitted against the Shadow of Annihilation.
“Surprised, old Dark Mountain scoundrel? Hahaha, just teasing you earlier.”
“So what? Just a few more beatings for you; if once doesn’t work, then twice, and if twice doesn’t suffice, thrice—I’d be happy to oblige.”
Regarding the reappearance of Annihilation’s Shadow, the Ancient Ancestor of Dark Mountain was not surprised.
If a progenitor-level creature could be killed so easily, it would not be worthy of standing atop the Star Realm, let alone the fact that the Shadow of Annihilation is the guardian of the Ash Plane, and the Ash Plane is his absolute domain.
Had it not been for Annihilation’s Shadow suffering major injuries beforehand, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say he could fight many on his own.
“Arrogant! At any cost, I shall keep you here today,” the ancestor declared.
“Feel free to try.”
Both were Level 8 creatures, and in terms of scale, they equaled massive planes. Naturally, their battles made heaven and earth change color, like two vast planes clashing fiercely.
The battle’s outcome was evident; the far-traveling Ancient Ancestor of Dark Mountain still held the upper hand, just as he claimed, suppressing the Shadow of Annihilation with intense blows.
…
“Hold them back for a moment, I’ll probe their details.”
“Sea Mother, do your thing at will; we’ll handle the periphery.”
Elsewhere, the battle had new developments, and with the thrones’ mutual cooperation, the Sea Mother seized an opportune moment to trap an enemy on the spot, making it a caged beast.
On the outer circle were Ivan and others.
Together, they blocked other enemies outside, no matter how madly those enemies attacked.
“It isn’t a real person, indeed,” the Sea Mother quickly concluded.
“Blai Bu, what is that, actually?” War Fire couldn’t help but ask.
“True Witch Throne, could you take a look?”
The Sea Mother was unsure. She scanned those on the outskirts and finally set her gaze on a certain sorcerer.
Ivan complied readily. Behind his enormous figure, his white hair transformed into longer, thicker tendrils, crossing the distance to probe into where the trapped enemy lay.
No soul presence.
No life presence.
Non-fleshy creature.
Non-element creature.
“How is it?”
“A shadow that couldn’t be more fake.”
“Indeed, precisely as you described,” the Sea Mother concurred, highly agreeing with Ivan’s awkward conclusion. Her perception aligned with his; it was something quite uncanny, never seen before.
“What do you mean? What kind of riddle are you two playing?” War Fire voiced the thoughts of many.
“Consider them as shadows of living beings,” the Sea Mother didn’t elaborate further. Seeing Ivan withdraw the tendrils, she promptly dispatched the trapped enemy.
Subsequently, she joined the peripheral battle group.
However, the speculation regarding the enemy’s nature did not end there.
