SSS RANKED REINCARNATION: DARK DRAGON LEGACY
Chapter 366 Vermilion KingdomSilva’s army had headed into all the cities and towns, and they had massacred everyone—a bloody war with no survivors. The nobles and the commoners alike, Dukes, Counts, everyone that came into their sight was killed.
But this atrocity couldn’t go unnoticed, as word of it reached the empire and other kingdoms in just hours.
And this could not go unpunished. The empire had already spread word of war, but no kingdom expected that the demons would make their move right inside the human kingdom and start obliterating their own kingdoms.
It was a low blow, but all is fair in war, and now was not the time for ethics. Experience tales at My Virtual Library Empire
The closest kingdom to Ronan was the Vermilion Kingdom. They were certain that they would be the best after Ronan.
The King of Vermilion called for a meeting with his highest officials, men of timber and caliber. He ordered all to the castle as fast as possible.
Vermilion was a mighty kingdom, one of the largest in humanity. They were known for their immense magic and their technology that could rival the empire and the holy kingdom.
They possessed immense strength and resources, so much so that the empire and the holy kingdom had decided to keep the peace with them and see them as an ally.
They were the reason that Ronan was the way it was. Their immense development made it hard for Ronan to make a breakthrough in any regard. Their presence absorbed all the attention and resources, and as such, Ronan was left to take the bare minimum.
The Castle of Vermilion was a mighty one, towering in the capital as the largest and biggest building. It stood out in its magnificence.
It was isolated at the center of the kingdom, and a huge man-made river surrounded it, the current so fierce it could rip a body to shreds.
There were only two ways into the castle: through the bridges that were built, leading right to the two gates of the castle.
The castle was surrounded by so many royal guards and knights, stretching as far as the bridge and even the edges of the river. Not even a fly could get past without notice.
The guards and knights moved in a specific formation and pattern that allowed for no gaps at all in their security.
Beside the ground guards, an intricate system of mages was situated throughout the entire castle, communicating and watching everything within a large radius around the castle. They could tell if someone moved against the king in an instant.
Inside this grand structure, the king sat in the throne room, covered in a regal robe of red and black. His long dark red hair flowed down his back as he leaped forward on the Phoenix Throne.
It was ironic that humans hated other races yet used their names and appearances for their personal things. The throne was made of gold and red metal.
The king looked like a young man in his early thirties, but his sharp eyes showed a history of battles and experience that he had gathered.
Inside this throne room, several nobles, mages, knights, and warriors of different calibers and statuses stood, waiting for their king to speak.
The king looked at all of them, his eyes cold, and after a long wait, he opened his mouth. “A hero candidate has died,” he said. His words, though already known by some, still sparked a commotion among the people there.
The king raised one hand slightly, and everyone shut up, not uttering another word.
“The demon king candidate that invaded the human world is the one to blame. I spoke to the emperor and the pope about this, but they didn’t think he would be an issue worth the rush.
But now we are faced with a war that no one expected, all thanks to him. That demon king candidate is a virus that has spread, and his actions have led to the inevitable great war,” the king said. He looked at the people again and then bowed his head before continuing.
“Now that same demon king is on the move, and he is waging war against kingdoms. Our neighbors from Ronan have been hit, and from my informants, he has already taken Ronan to the ground.
They said he brought with him an army of creatures never seen before—over two thousand of them, each one stronger than the average evolved warrior.
And that is very disturbing, for one demon king candidate to have an army of such strength. Still, he is not stronger than us with just that army.
The empire and the holy kingdom will be preoccupied with the issues of the great war, and we are the ones closest to this demon king candidate.
There is a high chance that we will be the next he comes for, so I have decided that we will make the first move against them, using the surrounding kingdoms.
I want to encircle them in a pincer attack from the sky and from below, forcing them into a corner and taking them all out at once.
I have already sent out word to the other kingdoms as fast as I could, and I hope to get their response immediately. But before we carry out my plan, I called you all here because you are the smartest and strongest people of this kingdom.
Your input is valued. This is war, and as such, we must do all we can to make sure that the enemy doesn’t defeat us.
We cannot allow a small army under a demon king candidate to defeat us,” the king finished talking. He stood up from his throne.
“We all should know that this demon king candidate has killed children, mothers, fathers, and brothers—people that we might have met at some point in our lives have died in Ronan.
So when you tell me your ideas, ensure that there is no talk of mercy because there is no mercy for those that have murdered children,” the king said.
