The emperor agreed to what this person said, and then he led them out of the balcony and into a hallway.

“Master, if I may ask, where have you been all this while?” Julius asked.

“Trying to find more ways to end this war. Humans have suffered enough at the hands of devils; it is time we fix that,” the man said.

“Indeed, thank you for giving us the freedom,” Julius said. The more he spoke to this person, the more he trusted him. It was like some sort of hypnotic effect.

Julius led the man through a series of hallways and stairs until they made it to a teleportation circle inside a room guarded by over twenty guards.

All the guards bowed when they saw the emperor and allowed him into the room without a second thought.

At the center of the room was the teleportation circle. Julius walked to the center of the circle, and the man followed him. The teleportation circle lit up, and they vanished from there in an instant.

They arrived inside a dim underground space. It was extremely large, stretching for several hundred meters.

The entire floor was covered with a magical circle dug deeper into the ground to create a pathway, and in this pathway, demon blood flowed through.

“This is the place. We have studied the blood and history books, and we finally came up with a way to summon the demon,” Julius said.

“Good. Now begin the process, and I’ll take down your entire capital,” the man said. Julius felt that the way the man said it felt off. He looked at the man and asked,

“Is this the only way it can work? Must we take all the lives?”

“No. There are a million ways to do this, many that didn’t require all this preparation, but you were a fool. Believing that I would give you a key to save humanity was the worst move you ever made.

I am not here to help you, sadly, but to bring you and your world to the end of it all—your Armageddon,” the man said.

Julius stood, looking at the man with a confused look on his face. “What are you saying? Is this some sort of joke?” Julius asked.

“No, no, no, no, this is no joke. It is just the opening of the world—the change that has been inevitable. Your world has been trapped inside this bubble of reality that you all feel is true, but you have no idea what exists.

And do you know why you have no idea? Because the goddess has limited the scope of your lives. She has made you all live inside a bubble and believe that your world was all that there is.

My job is to free you all from that prison, to show you the reality that exists, to show you that this world is not what you know,” he said.

“What? What do you plan to do? What did you bring me here for?” Julius asked. Your adventure continues at My Virtual Library Empire

“I brought you here for one reason. I want to use you to break the veil—the wall that separates the demons from you.

The demons will come, and they will rid this continent of all races. Then, they will go for the celestials and free them to continue the war they once had.

I have been weakening the veil daily and giving some toys to you humans, building my plan to end it all.”

By now, Julius understood that he had made a mistake that would most likely destroy them. He wanted a way to stop this, but he also wanted to hear more from this man. He wanted to know the truth.

“You called this place a continent. What is the meaning of that?” Julius mustered his courage and asked.

“Hmm? By now, I thought you would have had a mental breakdown and collapsed from the regret of what you did, yet you are still talking.”

“There is no point in that. How will I be able to stop you if I am on the ground crying?” Julius asked.

“You have plans to stop me? You don’t get it yet, do you? There is no stopping me,” he said, and a sudden pressure slammed against Julius and threw him to the ground.

Julius, who was hailed as one of the strongest beings after the heroes, now could not even move at all.

The man walked over to him and picked him up from the ground. “I’m going to end this pitiful excuse of a world that you all have here,” he said, his face full of spite.

“I will not activate the spell. You will not take their lives,” Julius said.

“You really don’t get it yet, do you? I don’t need you at all,” the man said and threw Julius aside so hard he smashed into the wall.

The man walked to the center of the circle and raised his hands, ready to destroy the veil. Suddenly, a figure appeared—the black figure, the one who stays with the goddess.

“Oh, you came?” the man said.

“You can’t do this. You will destroy what’s left of this world if you do,” the figure said.

“Bold talk coming from you. After all, you and the goddess are the ones that ripped my world apart—my continent, my home.

Eight continents, and you used all eight as toys, doing whatever you wanted, and one by one, they all fell. And now you paint me as the bad guy?” the man asked.

“You are not the bad person, but if you do this, you will be throwing all the weight on his shoulders. And do you really want that?” the figure asked.

“Hahahaha, so like the rest of us, you refused to tell him the truth? You hid it from him. How long will you keep hiding it? How long do you think he will stay until he finally snaps and becomes like me?

I am only speeding up the process. There is no stopping now. This is the end.”
