Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 1029: The Real CulpritChapter 1029: The Real Culprit
The alien confirmed her suspicion by continuing, “I manage to resist it to a certain extent, but I won’t last much longer. My mission as a messenger is almost over.
“That’s why no matter what happens, I have to meet that special human.”
Bella fell silent before asking, “Why… No, how do you even turn a human into an alien?”
“Turning a human into our kin? It never happens. After all, it’s never about turning the human into us.”
“!!!” Bella widened his eyes in shock. “What do you mean?”
“What I have been doing is to split my body, little by little. I’ve noticed that your eyes looked at a part of my body earlier… specifically the part on the corner of this tank.”
Bella didn’t deny it. She had definitely seen the tentacle in the corner.
“That’s how my race reproduces. I release a part of my body and it will grow into my race.
“However, their growth is halted by the people here through their own method. Once that method is broken, the growth that has been halted for so long will cause a massive boost that causes the growth to speed up tremendously.
“In the process, it will definitely kill the human. I have the ability to take over a living being by killing them, using their body as a host, and controlling them.
“That’s why when my children are freed, they will kill the host from the inside, use the nutrients from their body to accelerate their growth, and control them. It’s never been about turning them into an alien.”
Bella could see it. In fact, the humans that had turned into aliens would die if they crushed the alien.
It turned out the human itself died because the alien killed it.
However, it looked like the Divine Hand believed that this was turning humans into aliens. And one day, they would succeed in coexistence.
What if the Divine Hand had been deceived by this alien the whole time? This was the first time she had heard an alien could do such a thing, but it all started making sense.
’Now that I think about it, Nathan has mentioned the elite class alien hiding in the sea. And that elite class alien has brought an alien that can take over a human’s mind. We haven’t seen this in the past, but what if the aliens indeed have had this kind of ability from the beginning?
’From the way he explained it, it looks like the alien has been weakened after getting taken over by this black cell. It won’t be as weak as we hope it to be, but still weaker than their true strength. Most likely, the black cell itself doesn’t know how to utilize the alien’s true power.
’Still, the black cell, huh? If it’s the normal alien, once they kill the host, the alien might stop or do something else. But because of the black cell, it attacks humans nearby, which explains the behavior of the aliens.
’But from all this, it’s clear that the aliens are not entirely clear. They’re still considered evil in this situation. After all, they are the culprits of all this mess.’
If Nathan were here, he would have agreed with Bella. Aliens treated humans like humans treated animals.
Humans liked to see animals fight each other, and the aliens loved to see humans fight with each other. It was the same because they thought they were above humans, the same way humans thought they were above aliens.
On Earth, a minority of humans condemned the act of torturing animals, such as fighting among animals, racehorses, or even the zoo.
The majority of them wouldn’t think much about it or even be amused by it. The same might happen with aliens.
In the end, the humans were useful for them to fight against this invader. Nathan would think of them as similar to a dog who had helped humans as their companions.
That was why Bella was a bit skeptical about this alien, even though she didn’t know the extent of the alien’s existence.
Nevertheless, Bella had one thing she wanted to know the most. She couldn’t help but think about this from the beginning.
She could probably overlook other evil deeds that this alien had done, but she certainly couldn’t overlook one deed.
While clenching her hands into fists, Bella asked, “Have you done anything in that banquet?”
“Banquet?”
“I’m talking about the Bloody Banquet or the Rising Star Banquet!”
“I know nothing about such a thing.”
“…” Bella frowned. “You’re not lying?”
“I haven’t lied to you, not even once, human. I don’t see any reason for me to lie to you.”
Bella looked down, falling into deep thought. She ultimately changed her question. “When did you infect yourself? When did you cooperate with them?”
“Five years ago. Those who are as strong as me can resist the invader for four to five years. Our gods can last longer than that. But beyond that… Our consciousness is probably already gone.”
Bella closed her eyes. She didn’t know whether to feel relieved or not. But since the alien didn’t participate in that banquet, she could probably tell Nathan about all this.
She thought she had asked all the questions she wanted, but Nathan could ask something from the dead. There might be a chance for them to extend the interrogation later. Hence, she asked one last question. “I have one more thing to ask… Suppose we ask your soul…”
“Consciousness and soul are side by side. As long as you have no way to remove this invader from my body, I won’t be able to answer your question even when I’m dead.
“No. Even if you can remove it, I won’t be able to say much because this invader has been destroying my consciousness. If not because I keep all the important information and protect it closely, that information would have been lost already.”
Bella bit her lip, disappointed. It didn’t seem they could get more information from this alien. Fortunately, the alien mentioned four more aliens like him, so they might be able to figure out more.
Nevertheless, everything was connected to Nathan. As long as Nathan was here, the truth would come out sooner or later… That was what she believed.
