The Pope smiled. “I know you’re going to ask that.”

Nathan didn’t say anything after that, wondering if this meant he would agree to give it to him.

Unfortunately, the Pope could only shake his head. “Sadly, I can’t afford to give this clue to you. It will remain there forever and no one, even you, can read it.”

Nathan’s expression turned solemn. “If that’s the case, then there’s no need to say anything more.” He stood up while adding, “I believe our talk here is done.”

Nathan didn’t show any disappointment in his face. After all, he had confirmed one thing. If it was just a clue about the sea, the Pope shouldn’t really mind giving it to him.

However, that note must contain any clue related to the intelligent alien. In other words, if he got this information, he would get a weapon that could slit the throat of the Holy Kingdom.

The Holy Kingdom needed to remain standing so that they could fight against the aliens, so other than the pope, no one was supposed to know this.

That was why there was nothing to say between them anymore. The Pope merely wanted to protect this information.

Even if he was the son-in-law, he still couldn’t get the information. But he might not necessarily need that information.

The Pope looked at Nathan calmly, as though he was observing his reaction. Before Nathan left, the Pope raised his voice. “If you want to go to the sea, go to the land filled with ice. You might find your answer there.”

“!!!” Nathan looked surprised. He never thought that the Pope would tell him about it, but he was wrong.

The Pope must have realized that Nathan had already known about the alien. While he couldn’t give him the clue directly, he could give him a hint.

Nathan halted his step for a moment, while the Pope waved his hand. “The dowry will be sent accordingly. This is unprecedented for the Holy Kingdom, so we will need more time to prepare it. You may leave, child.”

Nathan looked at the Pope for a few seconds before giving a little nod.

When he came out of the room, he brought Sera back with him. On the way, he kept thinking about this one hint.

If what he learned on Earth was correct, the land covered in ice was basically the North Pole.

They were in the northwest of the world, while Erendntall was in the northeast. They had to choose whether they wanted to loop around the North Pole or go through it.

After hearing this clue, he might have to choose the latter.

And after seeing the origin of the ash cloud, he suspected the mountain was on either Myrall or Qion. Nevertheless, Erendntall would definitely be impacted like them, so once they reached that continent, the situation might not be as good as they originally thought.

Nathan had just gotten a new objective. It seemed he had to find the alien hidden under the ice.

“Are you done with the talk?” Sera asked as they strode into the city.

“Yeah.” Nathan nodded.

“That’s great then…” Sera held Nathan’s hand tightly, her eyes shifting to the sky. “Do you know how surreal this is? Back then, I did my best to do good things so that I could show them I’m not a corrupt saintess just because I summoned a fallen angel. And now… here I am… The only saintess who can stand beside a man.”

“Well…” Nathan realized he was so deep in his thoughts about the aliens that he forgot this was the original purpose he came here for. “This is just the beginning.”

“Beginning, huh?” Sera smiled. “I like that sound. If it’s just the beginning, it means there will be a long way to the end.”

“Yes.” Nathan nodded in agreement.

Sera paused for a moment. She shouldn’t ask about this, but she couldn’t restrain herself from asking. “Nathan… Do you really need to go?”

Nathan glanced at Sera.

Sera’s grip tightened as she continued, “Do you need to go to the alien territory by yourself? Do you need to go to another continent? Can’t you just stay here and find everything?”

Nathan shook his head helplessly. “I have to go. I have to go if I want to fulfill my ambition. If I don’t have enough strength, I won’t be able to face what comes next.

“And to know what’s going to come next, I have to cross the sea. No matter how dangerous it is, I have to go… not just for myself, but for you, for others…”

Sera closed her eyes. She didn’t want him to go, but she knew Nathan would go no matter how hard she told him not to go.

Instead, her wish would just increase the burden on his shoulders. That was why, no matter how hard it was, she couldn’t tell him not to leave.

“I will become stronger. I will become more beautiful. I will improve everything I have right now so that in the future, you don’t have to look another way. You can just look at me, Selena, or anyone beside you.

“I’m not Selena. I’m indecisive and gullible, but I know I have one role. I’ll support you whether we’re on the battlefield or back home.

“Just like how you’re going to support me, I’ll also support your dream. I’m not someone who can light up your way, but I can be the person standing behind you, trying to give you that little push.

“As long as you don’t push me away, you can always look back and find me there. That’s why… Nathan, please come back safely.”

Nathan’s heart melted. He promised, “I will return even if I have to kill the ruler of the underworld to drag me back to the realm of the living.

“You will be there. Everyone will be there. That’s why, Sera, will you accompany me for the rest of your life?”

Sera’s smile became brighter. “Why are you asking such an obvious question? Of course, I will.”
