THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
The Universe trembled, and a certain being with long blackish-white hair, sitting at the very edge of the Universe with his eyes closed, slowly opened his crimson eyes and tilted his head in confusion.
“Hmm? Am I not dead yet?”
He questioned out loud, completely ignoring all the chaos around him.
THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
The Universe trembled even further, almost as if it was affected by the man’s words.
Again, the man ignored it and stared at his own arms that had wrinkles all around them.
“Ah, there are still a few years left.”
The being nodded. He, who had already accepted his weak fate, closed his eyes again. He seemed like he was done with his life and was prepared to die, leaving everything behind.
He had suffered enough; it was now time to return to the two women he loved.
THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
At his actions, the Universe trembled again, and suddenly, a huge meteor that was hovering around the man’s body flew next to him, gently touching him.
Yes, the very Universe was trying to call him.
The man frowned, the wrinkles on his handsome face gave him a certain charm. Once again, he opened his dull, weary eyes and,
THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
The Universe trembled again, almost as if trying to say something.
“Hmm?”
The being finally caught on.
“The Anomaly is back?”
THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
The Universe reacted, as if nodding to those words.
“Oh…”
The being nodded.
But then,
“So what?”
He questioned out loud, and before the Universe could react again, a wry, weak smile appeared on the man’s face as he stared at his arms that once had endless power coursing through them but now looked frail.
“Look at me, I failed.
In hopelessness, I killed myself before. You gave me a second chance at life and I failed you. I couldn’t even break through the Divine Stage and have been stuck at the Saint Stage for thousands of years now.
The Anomaly is here?
What is a failure like me supposed to do anyway? Am I not just a disappointment who cannot even cultivate anymore?
I am a weak, broken man who is nothing more than a former shell of himself; there is nothing I can do.
I’d say you choose another Hero.”
Azriel spoke as he closed his eyes in hopelessness again.
THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE
The Universe trembled, trying to say something again.
“What am I supposed to do even if I went there? It is useless.”
Azriel shook his head again.
“Hmm? Be your eyes? And what then? The moment he realizes I am there, he will disappear. I am too weak to even be your eyes.
Again, just choose another Hero.”
Azriel answered as he then smiled ever so lightly. A smile that even the Universe couldn’t catch.
Nux was back; it was finally his turn to get what he wanted.
Since the Universe dared to throw him away, he would do the same.
Azriel, who was connected to the Universe all this while but couldn’t cultivate, had decided to understand the very Universe itself, and by now, he had gotten quite a good understanding of it.
The Universe cannot choose another Hero.
It was bound to one, so unless Azriel dies, which itself would take a few more decades, the Second Hero cannot be chosen.
Another reason was that it wasn’t exactly easy to choose a Hero.
The Universe couldn’t just choose anyone at random; not only did the being need to have an absurd potential that should at least be enough for him to reach the Infinity Stage without the Universe’s help, the being should also be somewhat trustworthy.
This was the reason the Infinities from the Supreme Worlds weren’t chosen.
Azriel was the best and only choice.
And Azriel was going to use that to take every possible advantage he could.
In the end, the Universe forcibly moved Azriel to where the Anomaly was; Azriel, however, kept his eyes closed, not giving the Universe anything to work with.
Just like that, the Anomaly was done devouring the World and went to another. By now, Amaya, Felberta, Astaria, and Vyriana had divided the task. They all went to different worlds, killed their World Leaders, and waited for Nux to come and devour the World. After a while, Aeliana, who wanted to help her father, joined in as well. Because of that, the Anomaly’s speed in devouring worlds had gotten even more absurd.
Even when the Universe constantly sent Azriel after the Anomaly, before Azriel could come to his senses, the Anomaly would disappear and devour another world.
12 Worlds were devoured.
Azriel, who was now left alone, shrugged as he closed his eyes again, almost as if he didn’t care what happened.
The Universe was obviously angry; it constantly tried to converse with Azriel, but the Vampire was just too depressed to say anything.
And this didn’t stop with just this.
It continued.
The next day, the Anomaly returned.
10 more worlds were devoured.
Then 11 more.
12, 10, 9, 11…
Day after day, the Anomaly continued to appear at a specific time and devour different worlds.
The Universe was losing its mind.
It was completely helpless since the Anomaly didn’t stop at anything. Nux, the Anomaly, had absolutely no weaknesses; even the Universe couldn’t do anything against it.
The only option it had was…
Azriel.
In the end, under the Anomaly’s constant assault, even the mighty Universe had to give in.
The Universal Energy around Azriel, which he couldn’t control and absorb for thousands of years, suddenly started moving on its own before it entered Azriel’s body, making him stronger.
‘Hmm?’
Azriel frowned, unable to believe what was happening.
Soon, however, he met another restriction,
A Law.
He had to form a Law.
The moment Azriel got the chance, he smiled lightly, then, he formed a Law.
A newer, stronger Law.
Law of Independent Absoluteness.
An advanced version of the Law of Absolute, just that this time, Azriel no longer needed to rely on the Universe or the Universal Energy to get stronger, but was very much capable of absorbing any form of energy from any source and turning it into Universal Energy.
A Law the Universe would normally never let him form, since it was simply too strong,
But in its desperation, it had no other choice.
BOOOOOOOOM
And just like that,
Azriel Ruinous broke through.
