Chapter 2042: Get stronger.
“Send men to Ravenhelm, Sevenruin, and Zarenal,
Wipe those traitors off the Universe’s face.”
Sharnoth ordered with a cold look on her face, and Varys… his eyes widened in horror.
“…what?”
He couldn’t help but question, thinking that he was mistaken. Sharnoth may be cruel, but she had never once taken her anger out on her subordinates. Even when the Lowest and Low-Level Worlds declared neutrality, she did not do anything against them and simply abandoned those worlds as they wanted her to.
“Declaring neutrality because they felt threatened was one thing, but to act when the enemy offered them asylum—
That is a betrayal.
And Khaemorr does not forgive traitors.”
Sharnoth declared, her crimson eyes shining coldly.
“…yes, My Queen.”
Varys muttered as he bowed his head, ready to carry out the order given.
He didn’t particularly care about some Middle-Level Worlds but…
The problem was far above that.
Once this happens, the matter will blow up even more than it has now. Panic will surge even further. Sure, the Worlds under them won’t declare neutrality after knowing what happened to the three who did, but the unity and support they previously had will die down.
Cracks will now appear in their Faction.
Cracks wide enough for other Factions to bear their fangs. The Aurendor Faction will use this to weaken them even further.
Their fall will appear closer, and others will sense an opportunity. It wouldn’t be surprising if another High World Faction joined in the fray and allied themselves with Aurendor as well.
With two High-Level World Factions as their enemies, it will only be a matter of time that…
“Varys.”
While Varys was thinking all this, Sharnoth called with a solemn look on her face.
“Yes, Your Majesty?”
Varys quickly suppressed his thoughts and tilted his head, waiting to see how he could assist the Queen.
“Maeve, what world was she assigned to? And which Portal was her world connected to?”
“A Low-Level World, Raguel, Portal ACR53.”
“What about Portal ZRZ89? What world is that connected to?”
“Lowest-Level World, Dars.”
“What’s special about Dars?”
Sharnoth questioned, and at that question, Varys frowned in confusion.
“Nothing in particular, it is merely a Lowest-Level World…”
Despite his confusion, he answered what came to his mind. Soon, however, as if he recalled something, he glanced at his Queen and,
“It is not of much significance since we now have Portals connected to every world in our Faction, but Dars is the world furthest away from Khaemorr.
Even with our fastest Travellers, it would take about 38 days to get there.”
Just as he said those words, Sharnoth clenched her fists in anger. Her cold expression turned even colder.
As Khaemorr’s only leader, Khaemorr’s Will told her everything happening in it. With one wish, Sharnoth could tell where whoever was.
And Maeve…
Maeve went through Portal ZRZ89.
She went to Dars.
And if Sharnoth had any more doubts, suddenly, the Portal ZRZ89 lost its light.
It meant that the Portal was destroyed from the other side, making it impossible for them to access Dars.
Maeve…
She had escaped.
“Your Majesty?”
Varys called out because of Sharnoth’s long silence.
Sharnoth glanced at him in silence.
She knew she couldn’t reveal it. Maeve was one of the most influential Council Members. If it was revealed that someone like her had escaped, her people would start to panic, and more would try to escape.
“Gather all the Council Members for the Council Meeting.”
Sharnoth ordered.
“Huh…?”
Varys frowned.
“You just dismissed them.”
“And I am telling you to gather them again. Summon those who have gone to their assigned worlds back.”
“As you command, my Queen.”
Varys bowed his head as he walked out of the room.
“What happened?”
After Varys left, Zylarith, who could sense the change in Sharnoth’s expression, questioned as he floated around her.
“Maeve left.”
“The Nocthari?”
Zylarith raised his eyebrow; he didn’t seem particularly surprised.
“It is just like them.”
He snickered.
“Fools who do not possess emotions, of course they will be the first ones to betray their masters.”
“The strongest Nocthari under me leaving my side isn’t a good sign. Nocthari does not feel fear, they do not panic, they only think with logic no matter the situation. If she left, it means that she already thinks the war is lost.
Logic is not on my side.”
Sharnoth spoke with a solemn look on her face.
“And?”
Zylarith, however, just laughed.
“When you escaped Aurendor, survived, and became as strong as you are now, was logic on your side?
Would any Nocthari have supported you just after you escaped Aurendor?”
“…”
Sharnoth stared at her master in silence.
“Logic is not absolute. If it was, the Noctharis wouldn’t be a fallen race clinging to you for their revival.
Logic only forms according to what one knows, and what one knows amounts to nothing compared to millions of other different, incomprehensible factors.
Logic merely limits you.
So stop hanging onto the thoughts of a traitor. Just remember her face, and once you come out victorious,
Show her the price of betraying you.”
Zylarith spoke as a cruel light shined in his eyes.
Sharnoth was momentarily taken aback. Soon, however, another question appeared in her mind,
“What should I do?”
Everything they had done so far was all for nought. With how things are progressing, in about a month, another High-Level Faction will join in. And while taking on two Eternal-Level Beings wouldn’t be difficult for her,
It would be the end for her weakened Faction.
She will be left alone and isolated from the Universe. She would lose everything she had built this far. As for her revenge…
Her enemy would have too much power by then.
It would be impossible for her to get her revenge.
At least… that was how she thought it would play out.
But,
“Get stronger.”
Zylarith spoke up with a big grin on his face as suddenly, a black-purple football-sized crystal appeared in the air,
“Absorb this, get stronger, and destroy the enemy you have hated all your life.”
“What is it?”
“Crystallization of all the Chaos I have gathered ever since I raised you. I intended to give it to you once I was sure it would help you break through to Infinity Stage.
But since things have come this far,
I have no other choice.
If not Infinity, then be Pseudo-Infinity instead.
We will figure out the rest later.”
