Chapter 1240 1104 The Creature That Escaped the Seal

Chapter 1240: Chapter 1104: The Creature That Escaped the Seal Tower Chapter 1240: Chapter 1104: The Creature That Escaped the Seal Tower Wanxiang City

Before the war fully erupted, the Neutral Faction had already evacuated from the city.

Those residents also migrated to other cities under the jurisdiction of Wanxiang City, so the people unrelated to the war were not much affected.

The entire north and south districts of Wanxiang City were still relatively intact, most of the damage was due to the residual waves of power from Dominator-level creatures, and the more sturdy buildings remained undamaged, while most of the collapsed ones were simple houses of the common residents.

These houses could be restored in less than a day by a qualified architect; in fact, some builders with a great many Earth attribute soul pets and Plant Spirit Beasts could construct a whole street in a day.

The extent of the destruction in the east and west cities goes without saying, apart from ruins there were only ruins, and when the wild winds swept through, the air was filled with dust, leaving behind a desolate and forlorn mess.

The majority of builders were concentrated here, and Wanxiang City itself was immensely large; to restore the entire city to its original state would take at least a year or two even for 10,000 master builders.

Fortunately, the Three Great Palaces have always been financially robust and after achieving victory in the war, they would certainly prioritize city reconstruction, employing master builders at high costs to ensure the city regains its vitality in the shortest time possible.

The restoration of Wanxiang City is not difficult, but the construction of the Wanxiang Altar is a significantly grand project.

The Wanxiang Altar was turned into ruins by a sweep of the Nine Tails of the Netherworld Fox Monarch Zi Di; whether rocks or buildings, expensive palace decorations, and sturdy beautiful glazed tiles were shattered.

The existence of the Wanxiang Altar itself had special significance, and the people who built it had already passed away, so achieving that miraculous craftsmanship and even restoring it to its original state was almost impossible, therefore the Wanxiang Altar might well disappear forever.

The construction of the Wanxiang Altar represented the authority of the Mu Clan, including the peak palace at the very top of the altar, which was precisely the gateway to the Space Gate inside the Seal Tower.

This Space Gate would not disappear just because of the destruction of the Wanxiang Altar; it continued to float above Wanxiang City.

At this moment, Mu Qingyi rode the Crowned Phoenix King and hovered outside this Space Gate.

As for what kind of destruction Empress Yu Suo caused inside the Seal Tower, Mu Qingyi still had no idea until now; she planned to tidy up the Seal Tower to prevent any hidden dangers in the future.

Chanting the spell, Mu Qingyi opened the Space Gate of the Seal Tower and stepped into that unique space with her disciple Guan Guan.

“Your Highness, since that woman has stolen so much energy from the Seal Tower, would that cause many Sealed Creatures to die? Also, why are some Sealed Creatures still alive while others have died? Where do those Sealed Creatures get the energy to live without dying?” Guan Guan asked.

“There are several special seals within the Seal Tower. The first type of seal is the most common one, which locks Soul Pets inside the seal, much like a prison, preventing them from gaining freedom. This type of seal doesn’t affect the life of Soul Pets, and they can survive indefinitely on the energy present in the space. The second type of seal is what’s known as the refining seal. This seal continuously refines the blood, body, soul, bones, and so on of the creatures into energy, which is similar to Spiritual Energy and can be used to nurture Soul Pets. Some of this energy remains in the Seal Tower, while some disperses into Wanxiang City,” Mu Qingyi explained.

“No wonder Border Cities are established in similar locations to these gigantic space prisons, which are Seal Towers for Soul Pets; it turns out these huge space prisons can refine Spiritual Energy to nurture the entire city,” Guan Guan said in sudden realization.

“Refinement is a slow process. The Soul Covenant, with their Thirty-Two Traces, Sixteen Extremes, Eight Desolates, and Four Heroes, have refined the soul pets for different crimes. The entire city needs more than just construction to fully recover its vitality—it also requires an ample supplement of spiritual rhythm. Many are guilty in the Soul Covenant’s recent defeat, and a large number of these culpable pets will be thrown into the Seal Tower to be refined. These guilty pets should be able to replenish the energy stolen by the Empress. However, the Seal Tower seems to have sustained some damage and is somewhat unstable. If it’s not sturdy enough and that batch of soul pets is sent into the Seal Tower, it will only overload the tower, leading to a chaotic outbreak,” explained Mu Qingyi earnestly to Guan Guan.

Mu Qingyi needed a group of people to continue guarding the Seal Tower, and Guan Guan was the one she intended to train as a guardian of the Seal Tower. Therefore, she explained the significance of the tower’s existence to Guan Guan.

As the master and disciple were talking, they had already traversed the chains that span the heavens and the earth and appeared at the base of the Seal Tower standing silently in the vast space.

“Swoosh!!!!!”

Suddenly, a gust of wind swept by, messing up the hair of Mu Qingyi and Guan Guan, and then shot toward the location of the Space Gate at an extremely fast speed.

“Your Highness, that… what is that!” exclaimed Guan Guan in surprise!

All the creatures in the Seal Tower should have been sealed, so how could something alive suddenly dart out? Could it be that one of the top twenty creatures had escaped!

The creatures ranked in the top twenty of the Seal Tower were even more dreadful than those in World City; they often could not be refined to death, only permanently sealed. If even one escaped, Wanxiang City would suffer again!

Mu Qingyi was also stunned, never expecting that a creature could escape from the sealing. She immediately mounted the Crowned Phoenix King and chased after the creature.

The creature was incredibly fast, and Mu Qingyi couldn’t see its form clearly. A creature capable of such speed was definitely a Dominator-level organism!

The escape of a Dominator-level creature would be a disaster for those cities without Dominator-level creatures to govern them. There were only a few Dominator-level creatures in the whole Wanxiang Realm, and with the vast land of the realm, it would be truly frightful if this prisoner, a Dominator-level creature, were to escape.

“Rip!!!!!!”

The sound of space tearing was heard when the prisoner Dominator raced to the Space Gate. Taking advantage of the gate being half-closed, it forcibly ripped through the space!

Mu Qingyi was even more shocked to see that the creature could tear through space itself; this was a Different Race Dominator. If it were allowed to escape, with the Different Race’s control over space, recapturing it would be even more difficult!

The prisoner Dominator acted very quickly; even though Mu Qingyi was pursuing at full speed, she was one step too late, and the half-closed gate of space was finally shut.

“Go and see if Bai Yu is still in Wanxiang City and tell him what just happened,” Mu Qingyi said urgently to Guan Guan as she saw the prisoner Dominator escaping to the normal space, her expression changing immediately.

Guan Guan also understood the seriousness of the situation and, without any hesitation, summoned her soul pet and flew towards Wanxiang City.

(This chapter is a bit short; the rest will be made up in the next one. There will be four chapters today—with another two coming this evening!)

(Because I wrote one less chapter yesterday, the monthly tickets are so few; it seems Little Fish has been updating three chapters daily since the 19th, except for that one evening off. Please don’t let Little Fish revert back to its original form, alright? Send over a few monthly votes for Little Fish!!) (.)
