Chapter 1603: Chapter 1462: An Urgent Letter
“Is it because of your father this time?” Ye Qingzi tentatively asked.
Chu Mu opened his mouth and looked at Ye Qingzi with a face full of surprise, “Are you a worm in my stomach?”
“How can you say that!” Ye Qingzi glared fiercely at him and explained, “Haven’t you always said that you walked this path solely because of your father? He outlined the blueprint of a Soul Pet for you, instilling a persistent love for all this in you. I guess he must hold a tremendously high place in your heart, almost like a belief. I believe only he could make you suddenly lose your sense of direction.”
Chu Mu nodded. When on Nightmare Demon Island, Chu Mu hadn’t given up his weak and humble life, knowing that if he died on a desolate island, his father, who had immense hopes for him, would be devastated. Just seeing the look on his father’s face when Chu Mu lost his First Spirit Soul and couldn’t become a Soul Pet Master showed how much hope he had placed in him.
After walking out of Prison Island, despite the manifold dangers, Chu Mu’s heart still surged with emotions because he could imagine how overjoyed Chu Tianmang would be to see him become a Soul Pet Master again.
From the small Gangluo City, to the battles in Jia City, the struggles with Xia Guanghan, to the Great Chu Noble Family, and then stepping out of West Region, from Li City to The World City, Wanxiang City, East Madness Forest, moving out from New Moon Land, and stepping into the vast Struggle Land, countless cities and territories…
Chu Mu kept moving eastward, unknowingly traversing such a great distance, even experiencing transformations and awakenings like demonization and revival, Chu Mu still carried the sentiment from his escape from Prison Island, longing to see tears of extreme joy on his father’s face.
However, the moment he saw that silhouette getting buried alongside the collapsing Yin Valley, Chu Mu felt as if the faith he steadfastly held onto had instantly collapsed.
Chu Mu was no longer a child, yet the feeling when the belief he held since his childhood vanished was indescribable, even the air he breathed seemed cold enough to freeze his internal organs.
The feeling was really unbearable.
It was difficult for Chu Mu to speak about this to Princess Jinrou and to Liu Binglan, only in front of Ye Qingzi did Chu Mu suddenly feel a warmth within him.
Chu Mu held onto the hope as Princess Jinrou said, that he used the Abnormal-Maned Monster to escape from Yin Valley.
But what if he hadn’t escaped?
What Chu Mu feared was that he didn’t escape.
Chu Mu knew worrying was useless, but this was a person so vital to him, most importantly, he fell into the Space Storm while trying to save him, the collapse of Yin Valley, and the pressing threat from the Naval Chief posed extreme danger!
Chu Tianmang was the person who established the faith in Chu Mu’s heart, the family member he revered and cared about the most. If this time he dies because he was trying to save him…
Every time Chu Mu thought of this, he felt a panic about the future, which explained why Ye Qingzi said he seemed somewhat distraught.
Fortunately, Chu Mu had another pillar of support, that was Ye Qingzi. This wedding was really important to Chu Mu.
Ye Qingzi didn’t offer too much comfort. Chu Mu was a strong person, and he would recover quickly because Chu Mu knew there were many around him who cared about him and whom he cared about, and the collapse of Yin Valley wasn’t the end of the world…
…
…
After the wedding, Wanxiang City still emanated a bit of festivity, and the entire city was still filled with the fragrance of flowers.
Early Morning, a ray of sunlight fell from the east, perfectly smoothing out along the straight main road of Wanxiang City…
The road led all the way to the Palace staircase, and on the other end to the city gate and out to the plain, then slowly disappeared below the horizon.
Not many past travelers, a thinly spread caravan slowly made its way into Wanxiang City, and occasionally some Soul Pet Masters leisurely advanced with their Soul Pets.
Suddenly, a fast-moving figure appeared at the end of the road.
This was a group of Demon Horses, their feet barely touching the ground, giving the impression they were racing across the road, kicking up clouds of dust wherever they passed!
The Demon Horse was very fast, and after passing through the massive city gate, it headed straight for the palace, finally stopping where Holy Guards were stationed.
A man in military attire jumped down from atop the Demon Horse and quickly walked up to the leading Holy Guard.
“Please deliver this urgent message to King Chu immediately,” the man said with a serious and anxious face.
“We don’t have the authority for that. This urgent message must first be sent to the Elders, or perhaps the Elder Council, before it can be relayed to King Chu,” replied the Holy Guard.
“Then please hurry, there is an imminent matter; make sure the Elder handling it and the Elder Council take it seriously,” the man in military attire said.
“Alright,” said the Holy Guard.
The Holy Guard took the urgent message and went toward the palace.
When the Holy Guard entered the Elders’ Hall, not many people were present because, due to a wedding ceremony and its effects, most Elders regarded it as a holiday and rarely took the opportunity to relax and engage in their preferred activities.
“Is something the matter?” asked a Guest Elder sitting in the Elders’ Hall.
Guest Elders are a position established later in the New Moon Land for individuals with great strength who are willing to collaborate with New Moon Land but dislike constraints. They possess most of the powers of the Elders but can come and go as they please based on their preferences.
The Guest Elder in the Elders’ Hall was named Xue Bin, a traveling Soul Pet Master and an immortal level expert.
“It’s like this, an officer brought an urgent message hoping it would be reviewed by King Chu, saying that it’s a matter of great importance,” the Holy Guard said earnestly.
“Let me see it,” Xue Bin said.
The Guest Elder Xue Bin carefully read the urgent message, his expression unchanging.
After a moment, Guest Elder Xue Bin put away the urgent message and said, “Alright, I will relay it to King Chu. Let the officer go back with peace of mind.”
“Yes,” the Holy Guard nodded and returned to his post.
After the Holy Guard left, Guest Elder Xue Bin snorted coldly and said, “Just when I thought the chance to make him lose favor was not going to come so quickly.”
Having said that, Guest Elder Xue Bin called over a Palace Master and said, “Give this to King Chu.”
The Palace Master nodded, and just as he was about to leave, Guest Elder Xue Bin added, “King Chu is newly married and everyone needs rest. Not everything should be done by King Chu in person, you understand?”
The Palace Master, being astute, understood the implications of Guest Elder’s words and seriously nodded, “Indeed, I will present it to King Chu in a few days.”
“Handle it as you see fit,” Guest Elder Xue Bin said.
With things said to this extent, the Palace Master would understand how to proceed. (.)
