Chapter 1621: 1481: Invitation Letter from the Two Great Royal FamiliesChapter 1621: Chapter 1481: Invitation Letter from the Two Great Royal Families
“By the way, how is the situation within the Hidden-Pupil Royal Family?” the Old Man of Cloud Gate changed the subject.
“How good can it be? Those who should be assigned are still assigned, those who should be engaged in internal strife are still at it. If one day they understand the importance of unity, how could the human domain be ruled by those sects? A bunch of stubborn people.” Yu Bo said with a sigh, shaking his head.
“Speaking of which, it has been twenty years. Why haven’t the Two Great Royal Families called for a meeting yet? Has it been calm in these past two decades?” the Old Man of Cloud Gate said.
The Old Man of Cloud Gate hadn’t left New Moon Land for a long time, but he was well-informed about the outside world.
“It’s coming up; I reckon I’ll have to accompany the Madame to Liangkun Mountain shortly. Presumably, all the heroes from various places will show their faces then,” Yu Bo said.
“She’s going? That doesn’t seem appropriate!” the Old Man of Cloud Gate immediately spoke up.
“With that kid Chu Mu not handling these matters, naturally it’s her who goes. Moreover, the lady’s intention is to meet her.” Yu Bo said.
“Ah, your clan’s affairs are truly complicated. Why make it so? What was once a ruling Imperial Clan commanding over humans has now become such a strange state,” the Old Man of Cloud Gate said.
“Who would want it to be this way? This one wants to be the Master, so does that one, yet they dare not start a major conflict. They just keep dragging on like this, fighting each other, scheming against each other, strangling promising offspring, closing off their bloodlines…” A hint of desolation flickered in Yu Bo’s eyes.
As the two elders spoke, the entirety of Wanxiang City gradually returned to its original state. The lights illuminated the cities’ buildings, adding to the grandeur and solemnity of the city.
The two elders looked simultaneously in the direction from which a dark aura emanated, silent for a long time, until the Old Man of Cloud Gate spoke: “I actually think quite highly of that kid.”
“Heh, who doesn’t?”
…
Chu Mu was quite direct in his actions. Having decided to go to North Ice for cultivation, he planned to set off early the next morning.
“Ah? Leaving now?” Ning Man’er’s eyes widened as she looked at Chu Mu, who was already prepared for departure.
“Until when do you want to wait?” Chu Mu said irritably. Ning Man’er was still in her pajamas, her hair messy, and her eyes bleary with sleep.
However, she also looked quite cute in this state, especially with her tangled curly hair. Chu Mu wondered how she slept at night to wake up with such a hairstyle.
“I need to pack my things. I have a lot of stuff!” Ning Man’er said.
Ning Man’er knew that Chu Mu’s cultivations always took months, even years, so she had to take everything necessary, including food, playthings, snacks, clothes, utilities, pastime items, and cuddle items for sleep…
Ning Man’er loved shopping, piling her room with all sorts of small trinkets, shining, beautiful jewelry, and headwear.
“Forget it, let’s leave at noon then. You pack up,” said Chu Mu with a wry smile as he guessed she would probably move everything in the room into her Space Ring.
“Okay!” Ning Man’er nodded hurriedly.
After leaving Ning Man’er’s room, Chu Mu headed towards the Female Venerate Hall.
Since he was embarking on a long journey once again, naturally, he had to give Liu Binglan a call.
Upon arriving at the Female Venerate Hall, Chu Mu went straight to the bedroom.
Chu Mu was the only male allowed to enter the bedroom directly. The servant girls didn’t stop him or announce him, as it was forbidden to see Liu Binglan during her usual grooming time.
Inside the bedroom, Chu Mu saw two female attendants helping Liu Binglan comb her hair, while another two were seemingly packing clothes.
Chu Mu noticed the attendants were organizing garments and items for travel, and he curiously wondered whether Liu Binglan was also planning to accompany him on her own training journey.
Liu Binglan smiled as she saw Chu Mu through the dressing mirror, a flash of warmth crossing her ice beauty face.
“Mom, where are you going?” Chu Mu asked, puzzled.
“Liangkun Mountain,” Liu Binglan answered.
“What place is that?”
“Take a look at this invitation letter,” Liu Binglan had one of the servant girls hand Chu Mu the invitation from the table.
Chu Mu opened the distinguished-looking invitation and quickly read its content.
The content was straightforward; it mentioned that the King of New Moon Land was invited to attend a meeting at Liangkun Mountain. The wording was very courteous, no different from the invitations received from various other territories on the usual occasion.
The only difference was that the inviting party was two elusive forces – the Divine Dragons.
The Hidden-Pupil Royal Family and the Wupan Royal Family!
Chu Mu knew some information about the Hidden-Pupil Royal Family from his time in Struggle Capital, and he remembered that the previous assassination attempt on Liu Binglan seemed somewhat related to the Hidden-Pupil Royal Family.
The Wupan Royal Family is a clan from the Wupan Continent, and they are the true rulers of that land.
Like the Hidden-Pupil Royal Family, the Wupan Royal Family is also a semi-hidden lineage. They do not involve themselves in the management of the human domain, but when it comes to matters that concern significant human affairs, they step in.
From the respect that the Divine Sect and other powers show to the royal families, it is clear that both of them hold a very special existence in the human domain. However, Chu Mu still couldn’t figure out exactly what standing they have in the human world.
“Yu Bo told me that this is the highest human conference and every invited force or individual must attend. Our New Moon Land conceals the great threat of the ancient Jiao people. Although we have informed the Divine Sect, we have not received any concrete response from them. Yu Bo suggested that I use this meeting to present the situation of the ancient Jiao people, and see if we can find a resolution during this conference,” said Liu Binglan.
If beings like the ancient Jiao people awakened, it wouldn’t just affect New Moon Land. The emergence of the Ten Thousand Years of Undying Dark Sorrow King proved how much of a terrifying disaster creatures of that level could bring upon humans.
It would be fantastic if this type of disaster could be predicted and resolved in advance. Presumably, those human leaders of various forces wouldn’t overlook such a hidden danger.
“It is certainly good news if human experts can solve this problem,” Chu Mu nodded. Attending this conference was necessary.
“The conference is one year from now. I will first visit some territories and forces that are friendly to us, spend some time in Struggle Capital, and then head to Liangkun Mountain. Don’t spend too long training in the North Ice Forbidden Zone. If you can make it back on time, then do so. It’s better if you attend this conference in person,” Liu Binglan said.
“Okay, I’ll try my best,” Chu Mu nodded.
Chu Mu had no clear idea of how long his training might take. If he could rapidly increase his Soul Pet’s strength, Chu Mu could return with ease; but if his advancement was incomplete, certainly, he would have to linger in the North Ice Forbidden Zone a while longer.
Fortunately, North Ice Forbidden Zone was not too far from New Moon Land. The round trip wouldn’t take Chu Mu much time, and he would be able to rush back should anything happen in New Moon Land.
“What happened last night?” Liu Binglan recalled the issue with the overly dense dark element and asked.
“My Night has advanced,” Chu Mu revealed with a smile.
“Low-grade Immortal?” Liu Binglan asked in surprise.
“Yeah!” Chu Mu nodded.
Now, aside from his demonized self, Night was the strongest. Naturally, there was a gap between Quasi Immortal and Low-grade Immortal. Just a little more improvement in strength, and if he encountered those from Yin Valley again, even without Martial Cloud Dragon, Chu Mu, without demonization, would be able to handle them.
Of course, what concerned Chu Mu most was the arrogant and imperious Naval Chief!
That grudge, Chu Mu definitely had to avenge. The day his strength was sufficient, Chu Mu wouldn’t hesitate to claim that Emperor’s head!!
Thus, Low-grade Immortal was far from enough for Chu Mu!
…
To ensure the efficiency of his training, Chu Mu didn’t bring along anyone else this time, only he and Ning Man’er went to the North Ice Forbidden Zone for their trials.
The speed of post-advancement Night was incredibly fast. Now, estimating the round trip from New Moon Land, it would only take an hour or two.
After passing through the northern forbidden territory of New Moon Land and heading towards the far north end of the Heavenly Mountains, the entire world was shrouded in snow and ice.
White lines were either straight, undulating, or sharp. The magnificent snow and ice scenery excited Ning Man’er immensely.
Ning Man’er usually liked to hold Dream of Oblivion, which was in a dormant state. To accelerate its Nirvana Rebirth, Chu Mu specially summoned it, having Ning Man’er hold it frequently, allowing it to absorb more Immortal Qi…
The duration of Dream of Oblivion’s current slumber was rather long; absorbing and digesting such an overwhelming amount of energy was hard to estimate in terms of time. Moreover, the Nirvana Rebirth of the Phoenix Clan wasn’t something that could be achieved in one or two days. Chu Mu remembered that the first time Dream of Oblivion underwent Nirvana, it stayed in his Wooden Box for a very long time.
“After completing Nirvana Rebirth, I wonder how much its strength will reach,” Chu Mu thought with faint anticipation.
A figure in elegant black, swift as a phantom, raced across the White Glacier at the speed of the Dark Star Polar Light. Chu Mu, holding the somewhat sleepy Ning Man’er in his arms, enjoyed the liberating sensation as the cold air battered against them.
Racing through a glacier made it easy to forget some inexplicable worries, making one’s spirit broad and open.
Of course, the unique and enticing fragrance of a young girl wafting from Ning Man’er’s hair beneath Chu Mu’s nose was especially refreshing.
Beautiful, far-reaching vistas, a swift creature racing through, and a beauty in one’s embrace—the kind of carefree life many true men yearn for.
When Chu Mu first picked up Ning Man’er in Wanxiang Realm, Chu Mu was fighting most of the time, with Ning Man’er drifting far away, constantly munching on something and swinging her pretty little legs.
Chu Mu’s battles were often gory, and considering Ning Man’er’s dislike for killing, Chu Mu usually avoided taking the lives of those wild creatures during his cultivation. After all, Soul Crystals became rarer at higher levels, and the Soul Cores that appeared were of little use to Chu Mu.
Ning Man’er’s cultivation was quite simple; she just needed to watch Chu Mu fight.
And to find a suitable Guardian.
Currently, Ning Man’er only has two Guardians, one being Chu Mu, and the other the ever-present Dark Emperor.
