Chapter 1623: Chapter 1483: Space Refugees
“`
The Land of Order is one of the most bizarre territories.
This piece of land actually shares some origins with the Southern Forbidden Region of the New Moon Land.
It can be said that the farthest southwest edge of the Land of Order is the Southern Forbidden Region that Chu Mu is very familiar with.
In this area, the majority of the inhabitants are Dark Creatures; among them are various Abnormal Species, with the Nightmare Demon Clan being the rulers of this territory.
The Land of Order stretches out in a narrow strip, extending from the southwestern end of the New Moon Land along the dividing line of the World of Heavenly Spine. The reason why the Heavenly Spine has become a barrier between the Wupan Continent and the New Moon Land is largely related to the ferocious and frightful Nightmare Demon Clan that dwells there.
For the most part, the Land of Order is devoid of humans, and mysterious flames always emerge from the barren grey land, which is somewhat similar to the Nightmare Demon Sacred Realm of the Nightmare Demon Palace.
The air is saturated with a dense dark element, and occasionally some eerie figures drift by, their identities completely unknown.
Suddenly, a streak of silver magic light grazes the ground, speeding from one end to the other in an instant, its speed incredibly fast as if slicing through the land.
The figure is flying away from the Land of Order, towards the direction of Struggle City. His body is aflame with Silver Flame, and his body seems to be cast from mercury, his pupils shining with a silver-white radiance, fierce yet with a hint of icy coldness.
Gradually, he flies away from the Land of Order, leaving countless mountains and plains behind him.
There are no human cities for a great distance from the Land of Order to the Struggle Land. The Silver Demon doesn’t stop until reaching the farthest city, where he dispels his astonishing flames and finds a place to rest and recuperate.
However, upon entering the city, two strangely dressed Soul Pet Masters block his way.
“Mr. Bai Yu?” One of the men, looking resplendent in a jade hat, asks.
Bai Yu gives the two men a cold look, his heart filling with caution.
In the Struggle Land, not many people know him, Bai Yu, and the fact that they knew to find him here is quite peculiar.
“What is it?” Bai Yu asks, his gaze frosty.
“We are members of the Hidden-Pupil Royal Family. Here is an invitation letter; our Master has instructed us to hand it over to you personally,” said the man in the jade hat, smiling.
As he speaks, the man maintains his elegant smile and hands over the invitation letter to Bai Yu.
“I am not interested in these things,” Bai Yu replies, not even bothering to receive it.
“Perhaps you might be?” the man with the jade hat says, “Our Master knows what you want. There is only one person in this world who possesses the Naihe Flower, and the old man from the Xuan Immortal Sect has deceived you; he has no ability to revive the dead. However, our Master can make your wish come true.”
Bai Yu frowns, wondering how these people came to know his secrets.
He has heard of the Hidden-Pupil Royal Family, but he is unaware of the stance they take within the Human Domain.
In the end, Bai Yu accepts the invitation letter.
“We hope you will attend on time. With that, we will take our leave,” the man says with a sense of decorum.
The two men turn to leave, each controlling their own Immortal Soul Pet, flying away at a tremendous speed, disappearing into the horizon, their destination unknown.
Holding the invitation letter, Bai Yu feels somewhat perplexed. But if the other party is confident in reviving his daughter, Bai Yu has no reason not to go.
…
“It’s strange, our Master rarely sends us to deliver invitations personally. Who exactly is this Bai Yu, that he should receive such treatment? You know, those at Sect Leader Level receive their invitations indirectly, and it’s up to them whether they choose to come or not,” murmurs another member of the Hidden-Pupil Royal Family.
“You don’t know the half of it. Bai Yu is an Abnormal Human – didn’t you see that he didn’t use any Soul Pet to fly into the city?” says the man with the jade hat.
“An Abnormal Human? But why is our Master interested in an Abnormal Human?”
“You wouldn’t understand. When one’s strength reaches a certain level and can no longer be improved, entities such as the strange creatures that appear in this world, the transcendent power of Race Mutations, the fusion with the spirit of Abnormal Humans, the scattered relics of ancient rituals, and those unique items, naturally draw our Master’s attention. Because if one can find some sort of pattern within these anomalies, one might glimpse the path to immortality,” the man explains.
“I see. But that Bai Yu seems quite powerful himself. The chill he emitted just now made me quite uncomfortable,” the other remarks.
“Abnormal Humans are generally very strong,” the man with the jade hat acknowledges.
“How do they compare with us?”
“How many times must I tell you, there’s no need to compare ourselves to others. The bloodline we carry in our bones is different. Even if it’s a special Abnormal Human, they are not qualified to be compared with us. Even if he is stronger than us now, it’s only a temporary issue,” the man says assuredly.
…
Bai Yu’s trip to the Land of Order this time was primarily for cultivation. He had some dealings with the Xuan Immortal Sect, but he hadn’t found the old Immortal Master who possesses the Naihe Flower.
He thought that the trail would end there, yet unexpectedly, the true owner of the Naihe Flower, knowing he was searching for it, took the initiative to send an invitation letter.
Bai Yu is a cautious man; he knows that nobody would help him for no reason, but what if the conditions put forth by the other party are acceptable to him?
After resting for a day at the border city, Bai Yu continues his journey towards the Struggle Main City.
When he gets close to Struggle Main City, Bai Yu suddenly stops flying, hovering in mid-air, his attention focused on the ground beneath his feet.
“`
“Strange, why is the space here somewhat disordered?” Bai Yu slightly furrowed his brows.
Bai Yu himself possesses attributes of a different race; he was able to detect anomalies in space.
It is now quite evident that the space below him is very peculiar, seemingly thinner than normal space.
“Buzz~~~~~~~~~~”
“Buzz~~~~~~~~~~~~~”
Suddenly, ripples of space emanated from another dimension, and this time Bai Yu clearly felt as if something was trying to emerge from that space.
Only beings of an Abnormal Race can traverse within space. Bai Yu was curious—could it be that a creature from an Independent Space of the Abnormal Race intended to forcefully break through the spatial barrier and reach this world?
After quietly waiting for a moment, Bai Yu suddenly felt as if he heard a cry for help from within that space. It seemed that the creature in the space could not break through the last layer.
Bai Yu hesitated for a while but eventually recited a spell, tearing the space apart.
The fissure deepened and finally, a conspicuous gap was made.
“Whoosh~~~~~~~~”
From the gap, a figure with a mane-covered neck leaped out, appearing right in front of Bai Yu.
“An Abnormal-Maned Monster?” Bai Yu was stunned, having not expected that it would be such a rare creature among the Abnormal Race.
Bai Yu could sense that the Abnormal-Maned Monster was extremely powerful, but it seemed to have been devastated by various space storms, now appearing very weak, riddled with dense wounds all over its body.
And even more surprising to Bai Yu was that the Abnormal-Maned Monster was carrying a man on its back.
The man was likewise covered in wounds and had already fainted there.
Well-versed in the structure of space, Bai Yu knew that it was quite dangerous for the Abnormal-Maned Monster to have burst through a weak space to appear in another dimension. Clearly, this man and the Abnormal-Maned Monster had wandered in Chaotic Space for an unknown duration before finally returning to normal space.
Bai Yu stood there, looking at the Abnormal-Maned Monster.
The Abnormal-Maned Monster was also looking at him. Although it did not make a sound, it was evident that it was seeking Bai Yu’s assistance.
Bai Yu took out some Food and Healing Medicine from his Space Ring.
This master and servant pair had wandered in Chaotic Space for who knows how long, and they were extremely weakened physically and mentally. If they were not treated in time, they would definitely not survive for a few days.
Immediately, Bai Yu picked up the injured man and carried him and the Abnormal-Maned Monster towards the New Moon Palace in Struggle City.
Bai Yu was not a healer himself, so such matters had to be handed over to the Support Soul Pet Masters of New Moon Palace. He just didn’t know the identity of this man who possessed the Abnormal-Maned Monster, nor how he had the strength to rove through chaos.
…
Upon returning to New Moon Palace, Shen Mo saw Bai Yu carrying an unconscious person back and asked with a puzzled face: “Uncle Bai Yu, who is this?”
“A Space Refugee I encountered on my way. Find a few capable Support Soul Pet Masters to treat him; his injuries are very serious,” Bai Yu said, as he carried the man to the healing hall, leaving the rest to Shen Mo.
Shen Mo was unaware of what a Space Refugee was, but since Bai Yu had brought this person back, he naturally had to be taken care of properly.
“Madame is also inside the hall. Should I inform her?” Shen Mo asked Bai Yu.
“I’ll go over myself.” Bai Yu hadn’t seen Liu Binglan for a while, and he had some things to consult with her as well.
Inside the hall, Liu Binglan was conversing with an Elder.
The Elder thought someone rude and young was disturbing their discussion with the Female Superior and was about to scold them, only to find out it was Bai Yu and hesitated before putting on a smile.
Bai Yu had always been the most powerful figure in New Moon Land, second only to Chu Mu, and although he also held a title, he was even more unruly than Chu Mu, completely unconcerned with the affairs of New Moon Land.
“I have an Invitation Letter, given to me by two young people of the Hidden-Pupil Imperial Clan,” Bai Yu said, skipping any pleasantries and getting straight to the point.
Liu Binglan was not fond of pleasantries either. She took the Invitation Letter handed over by Bai Yu and compared it with the one she had received before.
“This one is personally addressed to you by the Hidden-Pupil Imperial Clan—how did they come to notice you?” Liu Binglan asked with curiosity.
“Perhaps I have been using Demonization too frequently. Since you are also attending the conference, let’s depart together when the time comes,” Bai Yu stated.
“Hmm,” Liu Binglan nodded.
Having Bai Yu join her for the trip made Liu Binglan feel more confident.
“I rescued a person in trouble on the way here. He seems to be very strong. Recruiting him into our New Moon Palace would also be a good thing,” Bai Yu remarked.
“Alright, I will take a look.” (.)
