Chapter 1626: Chapter 1486: She is Nature’s Darling
Underfoot lay a blue vast ocean, tranquil without a single ripple, reflecting the white clouds above.
Chu Mu, flying between the Shadow Cloud and Empty Cloud, between ocean and blue sky, was gradually approaching the Demon Tomb, following the direction given by Elder Li.
The Demon Tomb, located in the midst of the Henghai, was elusive and hard to find without the guidance of professionals.
Since Elder Li hailed from the Demon Tomb, it naturally knew the way back.
With Chu Mu’s current strength, his flying speed was much faster than when he was at the Dominator Level. It took him roughly ten days to cover what once was months of travel by boat.
The mysterious Demon Tomb should be right ahead; Chu Mu had already seen wisps of Purple Immortal Fog clustering over a certain area of the ocean like clouds.
Entering the purple mist, Chu Mu saw the islands of the Demon Tomb.
Flight was prohibited above the islands, a prohibition naturally absolute. Chu Mu, now engulfed in Double Evil Demon Flames and radiating a massive Immortal-level aura, could make Winged Creatures of the Demon Tomb steer clear by leagues, and thus flying directly into the Demon Tomb met no resistance.
“Brother, the Immortal Qi here is so dense,” said Ning Man’er.
Ning Man’er liked the aura of this place, which reminded her of the Silent Forest where she started.
Unfortunately, the hidden cruelty and competition within the Demon Tomb didn’t appeal to her; she preferred tranquil places without strife, without battles.
“Ah? So many powerful Demon Spirits,” Ning Man’er looked down at the island and instantly spotted numerous high-level Demon Spirits wandering around; Emperors filled the Outer Island, while a step further in, Dominator-Level Demon Spirits seemed to be everywhere.
This was not even halfway into the island; such a dense distribution of high-level creatures suggested an even more formidable presence deeper within.
The second Demon Tomb Wall gradually came into view, its towering cliff rising majestically into the clouds, and even while flying, one had to tilt their heads up just to barely see the top.
The Demon Tomb cliff was perfectly vertical with an extremely high altitude, and the top was not a mountain peak but a tableland that rose sharply from the ground!
This time, Chu Mu didn’t need to take the Road of Huangquan; he carried Ning Man’er and flew directly up the Second Demon Tomb Wall.
Numerous caves pocked the sheer cliff, creating myriad craggy nests. Swarms of the Demon Tomb’s guardians resided on this vertical surface, far too many to count.
Green vines dangled down; peculiar pines grew on the sheer cliffside; lichens covered the face of the cliff. On top of the Winged Creatures in the caves, Vine Family, Wood Type, and Grass-type organisms also grew and dwelt on this precipice, forming a densely interconnected and complete ecosystem.
The Second Demon Tomb Wall was incredibly tall; only after soaring above the clouds did Chu Mu realize there was still a great portion of the cliff left, making him wonder if it could reach as high as the Second Layer of Heaven!
This was also Ning Man’er’s second time seeing such a spectacular cliff. Her beautific eyes shone with excitement, eager to see what lay atop the wall.
Finally, Chu Mu saw the top of the cliff.
Atop the cliff was a vast tract of land, where standing upon it one could see nothing but the azure sky, no clouds, no rain; all clouds and rain lay below this plateau-like Heavenly Realm.
“Brother, look, it’s a Sky-Swallowing Condor, it’s so huge!” Ning Man’er exclaimed, pointing at a massive grey Condor not far away.
The Sky-Swallowing Condor, whose very passage over the land could shroud the heavens, was likely the largest of the Winged Creatures.
Its shadow fell upon a vast portion of the Heavenly Territory, darkening the land as it fluttered its wings at ease. Sensing the intrusion of strangers into the Heavenly Realm, the Sky-Swallowing Condor turned and slowly flew toward Chu Mu.
With a mere flap of its wings, the entire sky filled with howling winds. As the Sky-Swallowing Condor approached Chu Mu, he and Ning Man’er seemed no larger than one of its feathers in comparison.
“Yeeee~~~~~~~~~~~~~~” The Sky-Swallowing Condor stared at Chu Mu and Ning Man’er, issuing a questioning cry.
“Brother, it’s asking who we are and what we’re doing here. It seems like it’s the aerial guardian of this Heavenly Realm,” Ning Man’er, who could understand the language of all Soul Pets, explained.
“Tell it we’re looking for an Elder Li,” said Chu Mu.
Ning Man’er relayed Chu Mu’s words to the Sky-Swallowing Condor.
“Brother, it’s telling us to follow it,” Ning Man’er said.
The Sky-Swallowing Condor led the way in flight, massive in size but utterly indifferent to Chu Mu and Ning Man’er, the featherlike humans, showing no willingness to carry them on its flight.
The Sky-Swallowing Condor did not fly with full force; its wingbeats were unhurried, making it rather easy for Chu Mu to keep up.
During the flight, Chu Mu observed many powerful creatures in the Heavenly Domain of the Demon Tomb. Similar to other regions of the Demon Tomb, each had its own territory and airspace. Apart from guardians like the Sky-Swallowing Condor, free to fly above their domains, other creatures would likely draw hostility by doing so.
At first, Chu Mu had doubted if all the creatures in the Heavenly Domain of the Demon Tomb were truly of Immortal Level?
After flying and observing, Chu Mu was informed by reality that indeed all creatures in the Heavenly Domain of the Demon Tomb were of Immortal Level. The average strength of creatures in Yin Valley had already surprised Chu Mu, but the realization that those in the Heavenly Domain had achieved Immortal status left him profoundly astonished.
“How powerful is the ruler of the Demon Tomb Heavenly Domain?” Chu Mu couldn’t help but wonder.
Any creature that commands an immortal territory must possess supremely powerful strength, able to look down on the ten thousand spirits and clans!
As they ventured deeper, more powerful immortal-level creatures began to appear, among them one or two whose strength was probably no less than that of the Martial Cloud Dragon.
If not for seeing with his own eyes, Chu Mu would have found it hard to believe that these immortal-level creatures, which demand vast resources for their cultivation, could actually coexist on the same piece of land.
On the flat land, there rose a Sky Stone that seemed to have fallen from the cosmos into the Mortal World, creating a colossal basin upon impact in the Heavenly Domain’s ground.
To the north of the basin lay an unfathomably deep ravine, now filled with various kinds of plants. The area surrounding the Sky Stone had formed different ecosystems. If not for the traces visible from the sky, Chu Mu wouldn’t dare to confirm why the Sky Stone appeared so abruptly on the flat ground of the Heavenly Domain.
Chu Mu knew that the Sky Stone must be the one he had seen in the images within the Heavenly Boundary Monument, and the thing he was searching for was beneath this Sky Stone.
The Sky-Swallowing Condor did not bring Chu Mu and Ning Man’er to the Sky Stone; instead, it flew towards a nearby dense forest.
In the forest, giant trees towered into the sky. Their lush canopies formed layers of verdant green platforms in the sky, where occasionally one could spot agile creatures leaping among these tree crown platforms, tracing exquisite arcs. However, when he tried to focus, Chu Mu could never quite catch sight of these agile creatures.
“Yo~~~~~~~~~~~~~” The Sky-Swallowing Condor let out a cry.
“Brother, it told us to go down ourselves, someone will take us to meet Elder Li,” Ning Man’er said.
Chu Mu nodded, holding Ning Man’er as they flew into this unique forest.
Chu Mu landed on a tree crown, which was so dense it was entirely possible to walk on it.
At this moment, Chu Mu saw the swift-moving figures from before rushing towards him. They stood on several other tree crowns, observing Chu Mu and Ning Man’er with curious eyes.
“They are Crowned Demons, they look so cute,” Ning Man’er said with a smile that brightened her face, and she ran towards the three Crowned Demons.
Initially, the Crowned Demons remained vigilant towards the two, but for some reason, as Ning Man’er approached and gently stroked their fluffy ears and heads, they seemed to enjoy it, affectionately licking Ning Man’er’s cheeks with their tongues.
Chu Mu had also been on guard, for these three Crowned Demons were very strong. An attack from them would bring trouble. Unexpectedly, with just a few words from Ning Man’er, the three Crowned Demons became as docile as little kittens, allowing her to pet them at will.
It seems that not even immortal-level creatures could resist Ning Man’er’s unique charm.
“Brother, they are willing to carry us,” Ning Man’er announced.
As she spoke, Ning Man’er had already hopped onto the back of one of the Crowned Demons.
“I’ll fly on my own,” Chu Mu sensed that the Crowned Demons’ friendliness to Ning Man’er didn’t necessarily extend to him.
“Then, brother, you’ll have to keep up; they’re really fast!” Ning Man’er said with a laugh.
“Don’t worry, you won’t lose me.”
“Swoosh swoosh swoosh~~~~~~~~~~~”
No sooner had Chu Mu spoken, the three Crowned Demons turned into a gust of wind, whisking Ning Man’er out of sight in an instant.
Chu Mu was stunned by their speed. Noticing the ripples that arose from the tree canopies, he confirmed their direction and hurriedly executed the Displacement Demon Shadow to pursue them.
After chasing for some distance, Chu Mu could hear Ning Man’er’s joyful laughter.
The laughter spread delightfully throughout the Crown Forest, like a silver bell—soothing and easily making one forget all worries.
The creatures dwelling in the forest, hearing this celestial laughter, all popped their heads out, curious to see which fairy was visiting…
Observing Ning Man’er’s flowing long hair fluttering ahead, her laughter constant, a sense of contentment rose in Chu Mu’s heart.
Indeed, the Demon Tomb Heavenly Domain seemed the only place akin to the Silent Forest. Here, Ning Man’er rediscovered that purest sensation, so her smile was as pure, as genuine.
She is joyful and beautiful, a natural-born fairy dancing with nature; wherever her laughter spread, it seemed to sprinkle the rain of peace and tranquility…
The protection afforded by the Wind Falcon Clan was worthwhile, and He Cang’s unswerving loyalty was also worthwhile. Any creature with a noble nature would never want to see such a girl come to the slightest harm.
She is the purest and unblemished child of nature.
