Chapter 1687: Chapter 1544: The Blood Rose in the Enemy Army
The battle between intermediates of the Immortal levels still occupied a vast expanse of space in the center of the battlefield.
The ferocious and frightful twelve demon faces had now turned into seven, each with charred traces attached to the main vines.
And Mo Ye, who was battling against them, was covered with even denser and more numerous scars, with fresh blood unceasingly flowing from the festering wounds.
Ultimately, the level of the twelve demon faces was higher than Mo Ye, and although Mo Ye inflicted heavy damage on them, it also paid a terrible price.
“Mo Ye, come back.” Chu Mu no longer let Mo Ye continue to fight.
Its wounds were full of poison, which would constantly sap its vitality, and continuing to fight would only lead it step by step to death.
Moreover, besides the twelve demon faces, Gu Xinshui had also summoned several other low-grade immortal Soul Pets, and if Mo Ye was besieged, it would really be in mortal peril.
Mo Ye did not act tough, as the poison indeed made it weaker and weaker.
Chanting the spell, Chu Mu retracted Mo Ye into the Soul Pet Space and then opened another portal to the Soul Pet Space!
A chill emanated from this Space Gate, causing the air’s temperature to suddenly plummet.
Specks of cold stars fell, condensing in front of Chu Mu into the Ice-Feathered Spirit’s pure and noble icy body, surrounded by rings of cold, which spread wantonly under the Spirit’s control, fully solidifying even the air wherever they passed!
Absolute Zero!
The seven main vines of the twelve demon faces, which had just been enduring the burning of Mo Ye’s nether flames, now immediately endured the freeze and cold slaughter of bitter ice!
Gu Xinshui wore a gloomy expression, his eyes were fixed unblinkingly on the Soul Pet summoned by Chu Mu.
The Ice-Feathered Spirit, a Soul Pet with Species Ranking at the War General level, yet why did the aura it emitted belong to the mid-grade Immortal level!
And besides, facing the siege of many Sect Leader level strong ones, he still possessed a mid-grade Immortal Soul Pet!
The lethality of the Ice-Feathered Spirit had always been terrifying. One ice spell after another was chanted, coldness spreading and sweeping madly, with the twelve demon faces and Gu Xinshui’s other Soul Pets enduring one wave after another of severe ice storms!
“Hoooosh~~~~~~~” The chill swept onto the battlefield of the Little Hiding Dragon with Pangying Flame Beast, and the Furious Flame Armored Beast.
The Little Hiding Dragon was significantly more powerful than the Pangying Flame Beast, and even after the Fire Lady summoned three additional low-grade immortal Soul Pets to besiege it, it still devoured two of them.
Unable to withstand the Little Hiding Dragon on her own, the Fire Lady’s lover, Mu Tian, joined the battle with the Furious Flame Armored Beast.
Little Hiding Dragon faced the most enemies, both the Pangying Flame Beast and the Furious Flame Armored Beast were mid-grade immortals, plus five more low-grade immortals summoned by the two.
Even so, with its powerful attributes and unparalleled combat power, the Little Hiding Dragon continued to break through the Soul Pets of these two people.
On the other side was Zhan Ye’s battle with the Golden Snake Dragon.
Apart from the Golden Snake Dragon, Zeng Long had also summoned 4 serpent dragons with different colors and attributes. The 5 serpent dragons darted around Zhan Ye, continuously leaving scars on its body.
If there was only the Golden Snake Dragon, it wouldn’t take long for Zhan Ye to counterattack.
But the constant entanglement by the other four serpent dragons had brought quite some trouble to Zhan Ye.
However, Zhan Ye had only used Limb Regeneration twice up to now. After the third Limb Regeneration, the situation of the battle was bound to change!
Chu Mu didn’t need to pay much attention to Ye’s battle, as Dan Pavilion’s strength was somewhat weaker compared to the others, and defeating her was just a matter of time.
Chu Mu lowered his head, and beneath his feet was a densely packed crowd, teeming with members of the New Moon Palace Army and the Freedom Corps, as well as the crusading forces of different factions from the alliance, a smoke and fire of battle that made Chu Mu increasingly unable to distinguish who were his own people and who were the enemies, as both sides were gradually wearing the same color of battle clothes, blood-red, blood-red!
Suddenly, Chu Mu noticed a slight figure flying up from the midst of the chaotic army and heading towards this area of the battlefield with mid-grade immortals.
The figure grew closer, and Chu Mu saw that it was a Seven-Colored Luan, and the person riding it was familiar to him; it was Mu Qingyi’s subordinate, Guan Guan.
Guan Guan’s power was not at the immortal level, and flying this way with the Seven-Colored Luan right into this area would mean that the energy storm caused by the collision between the Little Hiding Dragon and Pangying Flame Beast was enough to tear her and her Soul Pet to shreds!
Guan Guan did not stop, flying straight toward the battlefield, Chu Mu even saw her get overturned by energy ripples several times but then continue to fly.
Naturally, Chu Mu couldn’t watch her being shredded by the energy. He performed Displacement Demon Shadow, leaving the immortal-level battlefield, and quickly appeared in front of Guan Guan.
“King Chu, King Chu!!” Guan Guan, seeing Chu Mu coming towards her, called out to him with an overjoyed expression.
“What are you doing?” It wasn’t easy for Chu Mu to face several Sect Leaders right now.
“Her Highness Mu Qingyi, she… she has entered deep into Mu Tian’s Army, we have lost contact with her, we can’t rescue her, now more and more enemies are gathering towards her,” Guan Guan said anxiously.
“Where is she approximately?” Chu Mu immediately asked.
“Right there.” Guan Guan pointed in a direction.
Chu Mu looked in the direction that Guan Guan pointed, and he saw a scene that shocked him.
In the midst of a sea of beasts, a small figure entwined with ice and fire was charging and battling through the vast army, whereever she went, blood surely blossomed, and corpses strewn the ground!
But from Chu Mu’s vantage point, she was completely surrounded on all sides by massive armies; the speed of her slaughter couldn’t compare to the torrent of enemies that swarmed towards her like a tidal wave.
The dark, pressing wings formed a cloud that obscured her view, and Chu Mu only glimpsed her blood-red valiant figure for a moment before a vast flock of black strange birds took over the sky above, and Chu Mu could no longer see her.
Chu Mu was stunned by this scene.
Was that really Mu Qingyi?
Didn’t she know that venturing alone into the heart of the army, even an immortal would perish without a trace?
“King Chu, the Mu Tian lineage has captured Old Master Mu and demanded ransom from Princess Mu before the battle. She forbade us from telling anyone…” Guan Guan said through tears.
Chu Mu glanced at the tearful Guan Guan and then at the figure of Mu Qingyi completely engulfed by the enemy army.
Chu Mu did not wait for Guan Guan to finish speaking; his body was already engulfed in raging fury!
The black flames burned all over Chu Mu’s body, reducing his flesh to ashes, which were then whisked away by the rushing wind, disappearing from the spot entirely.
Guan Guan stood in a daze, looking at the place where Chu Mu had stood, then suddenly peered into the midst of the enemy army, spotting a black figure of fury transforming into a devastating meteor that shot through layers of the sky army and plummeted towards the center of those massive armies!!!
The black furious flames were wickedly dominant, incinerating all enemies in their path into black dust!
Chu Mu, unstoppable, flew from the intermediate immortal battlefield directly towards the deepest part of the enemy forces, chasing after that blood-like vivid figure.
…
The golden flames and white snow were stacked heavily upon each other, having already annihilated countless enemies.
Standing between this ice and fire, Mu Qingyi’s black hair spilled down from where it had been pinned up, now covered in layer upon layer of blood so red it seemed aflame!
Ever since stepping into the enemy camp, there had not been a moment when her radiance wasn’t highlighted by fresh spurts of the most vivid blood.
Green feathers, like ribbons, circled above Mu Qingyi’s head; thousands of giant green birds formed an enormous Winged Restraint, trapping Mu Qingyi where she stood.
This restraint was incredibly strong, and Mu Qingyi, lost in her frenzied killing, only felt her heart of combat slow its frenetic pace after being trapped.
Standing at the center of the green restraint, surrounded by innumerable corpses underfoot and ceaseless enemy ranks on every side, it seemed endless!
Mu Qingyi had become numb from the slaughter.
Her Crowned Phoenix King and White Tiger were exhausted.
But the enemy gave her no chance to breathe; layers of elemental energy from all directions bombarded the restraint where Mu Qingyi was held!
Mu Qingyi was in so much pain she could barely keep her eyes open, but she felt the wounded Crowned Phoenix King spread its wings, sheltering her beneath its feathers.
Mu Qingyi clenched her eyes shut; she didn’t know whether, when she opened them again, the Crowned Phoenix King, which had grown up with her, would still be alive.
…
After an unbearable stinging, Mu Qingyi opened her eyes.
The Crowned Phoenix King was still beside her; it hadn’t died, but its pair of gorgeous wings had vanished.
The sight of the Crowned Phoenix King without wings brought an overwhelming desire to weep to Mu Qingyi.
Uttering a Spell, Mu Qingyi summoned the Crowned Phoenix King back into her Soul Pet Space and climbed onto the back of the White Tiger.
The White Tiger’s Sharp Claws tore through the Restraint, charging once again towards the enemy ranks.
Mu Qingyi also wanted to escape, but she had no idea which direction led to the New Moon Land; all around her were colossal beasts, and above was a sky completely filled with green-winged strange birds.
She could only choose a direction and, with the White Tiger, continue to carve a bloody path.
The Fresh Blood sprayed like a fountain, and like a torrential downpour, it crazily struck Mu Qingyi’s face.
Mu Qingyi was utterly lost in thought as she rode the Bloodthirsty White Tiger, brushing past a swirl of black flames, her eyes still fixed on the monstrous enemies standing in her path…
This swirl of black flames was Chu Mu, who was now standing beside her, but Mu Qingyi did not see him.
Chu Mu blankly watched the blood-drenched Mu Qingyi speed past him, and in that instant, Chu Mu saw her eyes.
Those eyes were filled with bloodshot veins, becoming desensitively hollow and dull. And it seemed that even deeper within was an accumulation of overwhelmingly suppressed emotions, ready to burst through her pupils at any moment…
Those eyes, they were heartbreakingly painful to look at.
