Chapter 160 Immortal Form
"Arise," the man uttered, his tone akin to a dagger slicing through the silence.
In the next moment, darkness enveloped the entire floor, and figures of various forms emerged, their number reaching into the hundreds.
His expression turned as cold as ice as he spoke, "You have exceptional potential to stand by my side. Yet, you made a fatal mistake by challenging me," he said, his voice dripping with frigidity.
The dark creatures fixed their deadly gaze upon Long Tian, exuding an aura of sheer horror.
Meanwhile, Long Tian remained resolute. There was no denying it; these hundreds of dark entities were undeniably dark souls. It appeared he now grasped the origin of these dark souls, none other than from the enigmatic man himself.
The man's voice reverberated once more, his finger pointing directly at Long Tian. "I want him alive," he declared.
Upon hearing this, the eyes of the dark souls glowed with an eerie blue light as they immediately surged toward Long Tian.
Long Tian grew vigilant, his body shrouded in a sinister dark armor, his Darkblade unsheathed. The darkness on the blade resonated with his ominous armor.
In that instant, four dark souls in the shape of ferocious beasts lunged at him.
"GRAAAAWR!" Their roars echoed, sending shivers down the spine.
Yet, Long Tian remained composed, meeting their onslaught with swift strikes, causing the dark souls to disintegrate into the shadows.
He couldn't revel in his triumph; there were still hundreds of dark souls remaining. This time, a sword hurtled toward him. He prepared to deflect it casually, but as the sword approached, it morphed into an armored figure brandishing a sword.
His eyes widened in astonishment, yet he didn't have time to react, and the armored figure successfully drove the sword into his body.
The clang of metal piercing metal reverberated, breaking through his dark armor and piercing his chest, drawing blood.
Long Tian's eyes widened in disbelief; he hadn't anticipated this. His dragon skin had truly been breached.
Rage contorted his face. "Bastard!" he bellowed and seized the armored figure's head.
In the next moment, the shadowy figure seemed to dissolve into him. Long Tian absorbed the darkness until it faded away entirely.
Strangely, he didn't experience any sudden surge in strength.
The middle-aged man, now seated on his throne, stroked his chin, thoroughly impressed by Long Tian's abilities.
"Overwhelm him, no mercy!" he commanded.
His dark souls promptly complied, charging at Long Tian in a relentless horde of various shapes and forms.
On the opposing side, Long Tian remained undeterred, meeting their onslaught head-on. His Darkblade hummed with dark resonance as he cleaved through the dark souls.
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Clank!!
Clank!
The room reverberated with the sounds of sword strikes and clashes. Guided by the power of Zeus's lightning and bolstered by Shen Long's enduring strength, Long Tian moved with unparalleled speed, ruthlessly exterminating each dark soul, one after another.
The dark souls took on diverse forms, ranging from standard sizes to monstrous creatures resembling the giant orc he had encountered before.
In this moment, an armored figure pulled his right arm, making him unable to move Darkblade. He tried to attack with his left hand, only to find a massive gorilla materialize and clamp down on his arm, leaving him completely immobile.
Dark souls descended upon him one by one, then in groups of five, ten, twenty, and more, enveloping him entirely within their malevolent swarm.
From his throne, the man grinned sadistically, relishing Long Tian's helplessness. "No matter how deep your connection with darkness runs, you are utterly alone. Eventually, you will be mine," he declared, his voice dripping with malice.
With a triumphant air, he rose, ready to draw nearer. But his advance ceased abruptly as he noticed something alarming.
Lightning crackled menacingly from the dark souls assailing Long Tian. In the blink of an eye, thunder roared, lightning exploded, and dozens of dark souls were sent hurtling in all directions.
The floor cleared once more, leaving only Long Tian standing amidst the chaos, his body enveloped in crackling lightning, a testament to his martial spirit of Zeus.
Yet, because it wasn't a power of darkness, the dark souls affected by the lightning attack swiftly recuperated as if the assault had never occurred.
The smug smile on the middle-aged man's face faded. He intended to return to his throne, but in a sudden, swift movement, Long Tian darted toward him with the speed of lightning, materializing right before him.
His countenance remained composed, but Long Tian's eyes glinted with a brutal ferocity.
A dragon claw, pulsating with the power of darkness, materialized in Long Tian's grip, plunging it deep into the man's form.
There was no sound of metal meeting metal, just a sensation of attacking mere mist. His expression contorted with disbelief.
The man, however, sneered with condescension, "My moniker, Ghost, isn't just a title," he taunted.
Before Long Tian could react, a colossal mace descended from above, smashing into him with a deafening crash, shattering the floor beneath.
The man was also hit, but as his body was entirely composed of darkness, he wasn't harmed at all. In stark contrast, Long Tian lay sprawled on the ground, his once-formidable dark armor now reduced to shards, exposing only his ordinary clothes.
Hundreds of dark souls encircled Long Tian, presenting a spectacular yet terrifying sight.
Meanwhile, the middle-aged man crouched, his voice piercing through the silence, "You could simply accept my offer and attain immense power. Well, even though I was lying about it," he taunted, his grin stretching wider with mockery.
Then he straightened up, locking his gaze on one of the dark souls, an armored entity. "Bring him forth," he commanded.
The armored figure complied, advancing toward Long Tian. Its hand extended to touch Long Tian, but suddenly, lightning burst forth from Long Tian's body, producing a deafening crackle and forcing the armored figure to retreat, its form dissolving into nothingness.
Long Tian floated in mid-air, enveloped in a surge of lightning. Gradually, a white armor adorned with black lightning patterns enshrouded his figure.
In the ensuing moment, his eyes flickered open, revealing irises of vibrant blue. It was the perfected form of Zeus, the Immortal form!
