The Azothrall’s attack on the northern fortresses of the Wanderers had also reached the Jinn Factions.
Thirteen decided it was in their best interest to let the Jinns know that the Azothralls were spotted in the human territories, which would make them hesitate in attacking them.
He asked the Church of Destruction to pass this message to Princess Aracelle, allowing him to gain merits for the information.
The teenage boy planned to share all his information to only her, elevating her standing in the Jinn Army.
He also passed the information to Prince Zorren and told him what to do next.
On that same day, another conference was held between the Jinns, so they could discuss the best course of action to take.
“Isn’t this the perfect opportunity to attack the Wanderers?” Prince Zepharion, who was very eager to take advantage of the situation, said. “Let’s attack them now and capture their territories, bringing a swift end to this war!”
His faction completely agreed with him, and he also gained support from the two other factions, who wished nothing more than to have a quick resolution to the war.
“What you propose is good, but we should also look at the bigger picture,” Prince Zorren said. “Think about it this way—once the Wanderers are defeated, we will become the owners of this continent. That is all well and good.
“However, there’s one big issue with this outcome. Since our goal has been reached, our armies will then split apart. Each of us will then take over a territory. That is a peaceful resolution after the war ends.
“But are you all forgetting something? The Wanderers might be no more, but the Azothralls will remain. What stops them from eliminating us one by one? Or are you going to say that all of us should continue to stick together like scared Martens who only know how to turtle up in their territories?”
“Hey, you’re taking things too far, you rat!” Prince Orryn, who was the Prince of the Martens, cried foul.
However, Prince Zorren only chuckled because he had already made his point.
“Let’s all face it,” Prince Zorren stated. “This war was supposed to be a war between us and the Wanderers. With a third party joining and taking advantage of both sides, the only ones who will be on the losing end will either be us or the Wanderers.
“Wouldn’t it be better if both sides compromised and eliminated this third party first before resuming the war? I know this sounds crazy, but I think the Azothralls pose a greater threat to us than the Wanderers.
“Their numbers might be few, but they still have twenty Rank 8 Sovereign and one Rank 9 Sovereign. That kind of force… do you guys understand how threatening they truly are? Or am I the only one who truly understands the danger we are in?”
Prince Zorren’s words struck a nerve. They might be reluctant to admit it, but twenty Rank 8 Sovereigns and a Rank 9 Sovereign posed a significant threat to them.
Only the truly powerful factions, like House Pavereth, the Garuda Empire, the Azrakith Court, and the Skavari, had two Rank 9 Sovereigns each.
Aside from them, each faction only had one.
The Rank 8 Sovereigns also numbered around four to seven per faction, which was nothing compared to the forces that the Azothralls have at their disposal.
Just like Prince Zorren said—so what if the Wanderers were defeated?
It was not like they could split their armies apart and claim their own territories.
That would be an extremely foolish thing to do.
Such a move would only lead to their destruction, which would also make their enemies stronger.
Perhaps knowing that the perfect time was ripe, Princess Aracelle joined the discussion.
“Let us not forget that these Azothralls can evolve,” Princess Aracelle stated. “Once they gain one more Rank 9 Sovereign, or their Rank 9 Sovereign breaks through to become an Archon, forget about the Wanderers.
“All of us will become sitting ducks on this land, and we won’t even be able to leave due to the laws of this world. Did it ever occur to any of you that the Wanderers could evacuate and leave us to deal with the Azothralls?
“They can just come back after a few years to deal with whoever is the victor of this war. Believe me when I say that our chances of winning against the Azothralls might be lower compared to our chances of winning against the Wanderers.
“Simply put, we just need to choose the lesser evil. As long as we do that, then we will have a higher chance of success.”
“Finally, someone with brains!” Prince Zorren clapped happily. “I’ve always heard about Princess Aracelle’s beauty, but now, I am assured she also has the brains to back it up.”
“You’re too kind, Prince Zorren,” Princess Aracelle replied. “I never thought much about the Skavari, but knowing that someone like you is taking command, I believe there is still a future for your race.”
Princess Aracelle and Prince Zorren were Thirteen’s people.
He had already briefed the two to cooperate with each other and make the Jinns also target the Azothralls, forming a united front with the Wanderers.
Although it would be difficult to convince the other leaders, Thirteen gave them tricks how to do it.
And he was right.
The Jinns were now starting to waver.
So, Prince Zorren once again gave everyone a slight push.
“You know what they say, an enemy of our enemy is our friend,” Prince Zorren said. “Wouldn’t it be best if we cooperate with Zion Leventis and deal with those Azothralls once and for all?
“I mean, all of you know how much I hate that bastard. But after suffering from his hands, I still have to admit that he is one of the most brilliant minds on the side of the Wanderers. Also, isn’t this the best opportunity to eliminate him?
“We just need to put our people in his group. Once the threat of the Azothralls ends, we can just assassinate him before we can even break our temporary alliance. Isn’t this a win-win situation for everyone?”
Prince Zepharion, who had also been bested by Zion, couldn’t help but agree with Prince Zorren’s proposal.
“While I also hate to admit it, Prince Zorren is right,” Prince Zepharion commented. “An enemy of our enemy is our friend. We should consider this temporary alliance. Once the Azothralls are dealt with, we can just assassinate Zion and take over the continent in one fell swoop!”
Prince Zorren smirked before glancing at Princess Aracelle, Prince Xylen, Prince Orryn, and Princess Laventia.
“Then, to show our sincerity, how about we send Princess Aracelle and Princess Laventia to negotiate with Zion Leventis?” Prince Zorren asked.
“I heard that humans are weak to beautiful ladies, so this might be a good opportunity to seduce him. Also, we should send Prince Orryn and Prince Xylen as an added measure to show our goodwill.
“Even the Wanderers wouldn’t want to fight on two fronts, no? They have no choice on the matter aside from cooperating with us to deal with the Azothralls. This is the best time to extend an olive branch, while they are still in a state of shock and panic.”
Princess Aracelle also joined the conversation, and soon, the Jinns were all in agreement to form a temporary alliance with the humans.
With their mission accomplished, Princess Aracelle and Prince Zorren made contact with Zion and proposed the details of the temporary alliance between them and the Jinns, who thought that they now had the upper hand in the negotiations.
What they didn’t know was that they had been “enlisted” by Thirteen to become part of his temporary army to fight against the Azothralls, who were currently the greatest threats on the battlefield.
