Chapter 1072 - 1072: A Destined Meeting

“Your Highness, we have come here to discuss the temporary alliance between our factions,” Lucan said. “However, because of the disappearance of the succubus princess, we are unable to iron out the details of our alliance.

“I know that this is not a good time to discuss it, so let’s schedule our next meeting. We have already stayed here for two days, and it’s now time for us to return to our headquarters.”

Princess Aurelion hadn’t been able to sleep for the past two days, and it showed—his complexion had gone a bit dull, and he looked a little more haggard than usual.

The trackers who had followed the path deep underground had reached a dead end, unable to find any trails indicating where the kidnappers might have gone.

The Azothralls made sure the decoy path would head toward the west, which was the former territory of the Wanderers.

This would prevent any suspicion that the kidnappers had headed east, to where the Artemian Army was located.

“Let me just ask you one thing, Commander Lucan,” Prince Aurelion stated. “Were you in any way involved in Princess Zia’s disappearance?”

“Of course not, Your Highness,” Lucan answered without hesitation. “I am also very worried about her safety. I wish to return as soon as possible so I can send my own forces to look for her.”

The Dragonkin Prince sighed. “Very well. You may go. We will discuss the details of our alliance in a few days.”

“Thank you, Your Highness.” Lucan bowed respectfully before leaving the room.

Two minutes later, Prince Aurelion raised his hand, and a Dragonkin appeared from his shadow.

“Well?” Prince Aurelion asked.

“He is lying, Your Highness,” the Dragonkin replied. “I believe he played a part in the Princess’s disappearance.”

“I knew it!” Prince Aurelion gripped the armrest of his chair, shattering it into pieces. “How dare that bastard take my woman from me?! Call the Commander and the Slayer. Tell the leaders of the other Jinn Factions to prepare their armies. We are going to war!”

“But Your Highness, this might be unwise,” the Dragonkin pointed out in a deferential tone.

“Shut up!” Prince Aurelion roared. “Do as I say, and mobilize everyone!”

The Dragonkin sighed internally before turning into a black mist that flew outside of the window of the room.

Since his Master had given the order, he could only obey.

‘She is indeed a beauty who can cause the downfall of a nation,’ the Dragonkin thought as he headed to the residence of the Commander of the Dragonkin Army. ‘I just hope the Artemians will choose wisely and return Princess Zia, or else both sides will suffer mutual destruction.’

The Dragonkin Commander, Commander Dravon, soon received Prince Aurelion’s order from a shadow guard. A frown then appeared on his face.

He was also there when the party had started, and he had seen Princess Zia.

However, since he was already a family man, he wasn’t as infatuated to her as much as the Prince and the other men in the party.

Still, he was certain that Prince Aurelion had already set his sights on the princess.

‘If he backs down now, he will never forget it for the rest of his life,’ Commander Dravon realized. ‘Still, an all-out war with the Artemians when we still haven’t defeated the Wanderers is a gamble we cannot take.’

After the display of power that had crushed Prince Aurelion’s army, Commander Dravon was now more wary of the Wanderers than the Artemians.

However, he didn’t deny the fact that Lucan and his ministers had done something they shouldn’t have.

At the end of the day, Princess Zia belonged to the Jinn Faction, and she was taken away by force by the Artemians.

Not only would it make them look weak in the eyes of others, but it would also cause a permanent scar in Prince Aurelion’s heart if he didn’t manage to retrieve the young lady who had become the apple of his eye.

“Understood. I will give the order for the army to mobilize,” Commander Dravon stated.

The shadow guard bowed respectfully before leaving to inform the other Jinn Factions to prepare for war.

They would not need to mobilize their entire armies.

Bringing their Rank 8 and Rank 9 subordinates would be enough.

While this was happening, Lucan and his entourage were already traveling as fast as they could so that they could return to Cressmont City as soon as possible.

He had been feeling impatient for the past two days, always thinking of the succubus princess who had the Chandrean Royal Bloodline in her veins.

The Artemian Commander no longer cared if Zia was Zion or not.

The only thing that mattered to him was that she had what he wanted, and that was the only thing that mattered to him right now.

Meanwhile, back in the Research Facility…

Zia, who was still inside the healing pod, had already been informed that Lucan had left the City of Velmusa and was now heading back to Cressmont City.

During the past two days, the young lady had secretly absorbed confidential information about the research the Artemians were working on.

Also, she could feel changes in her body as the Chandrean Bloodline started to awaken.

However, since Lucan would be arriving in a few hours, she determined that she had to leave soon or she would overstay her welcome.

Just as she was about to summon Rocky to take her out of the research facility, she suddenly felt her body burning up and her heart racing.

A moment later, Zia’s world turned white, making her blank out for a few seconds.

When she regained her senses, she found herself in what seemed to be a mountain top, with countless stars shining above the heavens.

“We finally meet, Endymion.”

Zia turned around to look in the direction where she heard the voice and saw a breathtaking beauty with long black hair and golden eyes.

She was like the adult version of Zia, which made the young lady wonder who she was.

“You are?” Zia asked.

The more she looked at the woman, the more her heart rate increased and the more her body heated up.

Instead of replying to his question, the woman sighed faintly.

“The Chandrean Bloodline inside you is finally awakening,” the woman stated. “Still, I didn’t expect that the man who saved my daughter, Callie, would appear before me as a lady. Fate sure knows how to play pranks on people.”

The moment the word Fate was mentioned, Zia immediately frowned, making the beautiful woman smile faintly.

“We don’t have much time, Endymion,” the woman continued. “I might get caught talking to you, so I will explain about the power that resides in the Chandrean Bloodline.

“Our power is special in a way that it allows us to break past our limits. Unfortunately, this power is only limited to the women of the Royal Family of Chandrea. When you were still a boy, this power remained dormant, for the right conditions were not met.

“However, when you turned into a lady, you met all the conditions. Now, the power of our bloodline is starting to manifest. Listen closely, and I will teach you how to use it well.”

The woman then pressed her finger over Zia’s head and used bloodline transmission to pass down all the information the young lady needed to know about the power currently stirring from its slumber.

“I don’t know how long you will be able to stay in that form, but as long as you are a lady, the power will bypass all the restrictions that you currently possess due to its divine origin.

“As for whether you use it for good or for bad, the decision lies completely up to you. But I wish that you will use that power to help others, for absolute power corrupts absolutely.”

A moment later, the world where they were currently in shattered, and Zia’s surroundings changed back to the research facility where she was being held captive.

The Head Researcher and his helpers were looking at the data that was being displayed on their monitor screens. Excitement was written all over their faces.

“Yes! She’s awakening!” the Head Researcher shouted. “The power of the Chandrean Bloodline is finally manifesting!”

The Head Researcher had seen this happen once when the Artemian King fought against the Chandrean Princess, who was the Saintess of her people.

If not for the fact that the King used her people and family as hostages against her, she wouldn’t have agreed to surrender and give birth to his child.

She had wept many times after seeing her daughter suffer over and over again, but she couldn’t do anything because she was sealed at the inner palace, helpless.

But the Gods weren’t blind.

Someone came to rescue her daughter, Callie, from her eternal suffering.

And that was none other than Endymion, who was now starting to understand the power that the Artemian King had wanted for himself.
