Chapter 1108: Magical Madness

Moving on, the three Sorcerers gave Vicente the maps and information they had about the forces that could have acquired Larissa, Rex, and Lyra in their market. Soon after, they escorted him and the group of undead out of the city and towards the vicinity of the Glorious Buddha Sect, the place near the location of the Polaris Realm Dragon.

At the beginning and middle of the three-hour journey, the group was mostly silent. But toward the end of their flight, the locals spoke again as they felt they were getting closer to the Dragon’s domain.

“Senior Fuller, the guy we’re telling you about is quite unique. The Glorious Buddha Sect is his friend, almost his subordinate, so I would advise you to be calm when dealing with this situation with your friends,” said the person who originally started the conversation with Vicente about the Polaris Realm.

“Is that so? What do you mean by unique?” Vicente asked, narrowing his eyes.

Another peak Sorcerer looked up at the starry sky. It was already night on this part of the planet. With a sigh he said, “It’s complicated… He’s a Sorcerer as strong and old as we are… You can imagine that he’s been through everything in his life. Coming from the Polaris Realm, then traveling across the Sea of Stars to reach the Inviting Isles… It can’t have been a peaceful journey.”

“Senior Kong is quite dangerous. His personality quickly changes from friendly to extremely aggressive,” said the most direct of the three, looking into Vicente’s eyes as he seemed to remember old wounds. “Take care. I imagine you can handle yourself, but he’s dangerous.”

“He once hunted down and wiped out a family because of a slight mistake by a prominent local magician…”

“And that wasn’t an isolated incident… He’s really complicated.” The man who knew the Kong best sighed. “Anyway, Senior Kong is an interesting creature, with a lot of knowledge about both Anicane and the art of living for hundreds of thousands of years. If you’re lucky enough to catch him at a good moment, you’ll be able to hear many hard-to-reach truths.”

“I see.” Vicente looked ahead, understanding the situation.

Although he hadn’t met many beings who had been traumatized by cultivation, it was common for beings with serious problems to exist in the world of magic. Reaching the top sometimes required sacrifices that went far beyond the individual, taking away families, friends, allies, and loved ones.

Some simply died. Others were tortured, had their auras erased and their bodies used by others, enslaved physically or spiritually. There was everything in this vast universe, terrible things that many couldn’t even imagine.

Massacres were just one sign of the madness of the magical world, sometimes caused by beings on the psychological edge, completely unbalanced after their losses.

“I don’t wish evil on him, but if this dragon tests my patience, he will learn from the pain,” Vicente said quietly, making the three mages shiver. “The Hell needs great powers on its side. This universe is full of corruption that needs to be washed away. If I have to wash this world with the blood of the mongrels in my path, so be it.”

The shadows of the night vibrated with Vicente’s words, while the three men felt their hearts beat faster. None of them knew for sure who this figure was, but they weren’t sure if they were risking more by standing next to him or taking him to Kong.

There was a hatred and bloodlust in Vicente’s last words that frightened these men and made them reconsider the situation they were in.

“This… I think it’s good here, no?” One of them asked hesitantly.

“Yes, I think we’re close enough.” One other immediately agreed. “Senior Fuller can easily reach his destination from here.”

“Senior, just keep going straight. You’ll come to a mountainous region with peaks that reach heights that put them above the clouds in no more than a ten minute flight.” He pointed to the last of them as he stopped to say goodbye to Vicente. “If you follow for 20 minutes after entering this region, you will see the headquarters of the Glorious Buddha Sect, which is 15 minutes away from Senior Kong’s territory.”

Vicente thanked the three of them and promised, “I will say goodbye to you for now. I’ll see you again before I leave this island. I’ll pay my debt then.”

“Don’t worry about us, Senior. Do what’s best for you,” the three said almost simultaneously.

Vicente looked at them one last time before moving on with his group of undead, adding nothing more.

The three mages stood still for a few moments, until Vicente disappeared over the horizon.

“What do you think?” one of them asked, his voice shaking.

“I don’t know. He looks like a monster. Maybe some legendary figures from our island will meet their end on his journey here?”

“Who knows…” the last of them said as he looked up at the starry sky. “I feel the winds are changing. Those behind the Nine Paths will be moving soon.”

The two Sorcerers looked at the older and more sensitive of them and felt even more uncomfortable.

“Someone like him,” the old man pointed in the direction Vicente had disappeared. “They don’t just appear for nothing. There’s a war coming. I can feel it now.” The hairs on this being’s body stood up, his whole body shivering. “I feel the Transcendentals are going to fight again.”

“Is that possible?”

“The last time they disagreed, the Nine Paths were almost destroyed.”

“Sigh! That’s bad for us. But what do the quasi-immortals lose? Nothing!” the eldest of them said in a long lament before taking the lead to return. “We must prepare ourselves, my friends!”

The three of them set off without further hesitation, leaving this border region much faster than they had arrived.

Meanwhile, Vicente crossed a long way ahead of them, arriving even earlier than his guides had predicted in a region of gigantic mountains that blended with the clouds in the sky.

Following the instructions and information he had received from the guides who had stayed behind, Vicente compared the areas he was passing through with the map of the region, thus improving his understanding of his position.

The Glorious Buddha Sect is immediately ahead.’ His eyes scanned the terrain ahead, taking just over 30 seconds to find a spot amidst the region’s vegetation, ice, and clouds of such a guild.

After locating his target, he flew straight into the heart of this organization, streaking across the sky like a bullet fired at the sect.
