Talent Awakening: Draconic Overlord Of The Apocalypse
Chapter 422 422: Summoning Another HordeAlister regarded Draven with a faint nod, his golden eyes gleaming under the moonlight. “It is good to see your dedication remains unwavering.”
Draven lifted his head slightly, his sharp violet eyes filled with determination. “There is no greater purpose than ensuring our kin are strong, my lord. I will see to it that they become warriors worthy of standing in your presence.”
Alister’s lips curled into the barest hint of approval. “You have done well, but there is still much to be done.” He turned his gaze toward the glowing summoning Gates. “Tonight, we will call forth more of our kin. Those who will stand beside you, Alzuring, and Silvyr—warriors, scholars, and tacticians who will shape the future of dragonkind.”
Draven’s eyes flickered with anticipation. “Then allow me to bear witness, my lord.”
Alister nodded.
Alister’s thoughts read as he addressed the system.
‘System, I wish to summon a horde of dragons from the royal clans—Valor, Azure, Archi, and Nata. No… perhaps it would be wiser to include the Abkis and Abyss-Voids as well. I must bolster our forces.’
A brief pause followed before the system’s voice resonated in his mind.
⫷『Because the player had summoned these dragon types before, they no longer require a conduit cost to be summoned. However, due to the player’s current level limitation, the maximum number of summons you may call forth at once is 594. This will bring your total summoned creatures to 1,000.』⫸
Alister’s lips curled into a sharp grin.
‘Splendid. Proceed with the summoning.’
The moment his command was issued, the hollow eye sockets of the dragon skulls embedded within the summon gates ignited with an intense golden brilliance.
The surrounding air crackled with raw energy, and instead of the Gates of Summoning opening as usual, the sky itself responded to his call.
Above the dragon city, a massive golden portal materialized, its radiance eclipsing even the stars. It shimmered like a second sun, casting a golden glow upon the entire cityscape.
The ground trembled beneath the sheer magnitude of its presence, and below, the dragon kin halted their training and gazed up in awe. Some instinctively fell to their knees, feeling the overwhelming presence emanating from the portal. Even the young wyverns screeched, flapping their wings as if welcoming their incoming kin.
Draven’s eyes widened slightly before narrowing with intrigue. “A grand display of magic…” he murmured.
Cinder, standing beside Alister, crossed her arms as she watched the phenomenon unfold. “You’ve grown more proficient with your summoning, Ali dear. To call forth this many at once—it’s proof of your ascension.”
Alister stood tall, his golden gaze fixed on the portal as it began to ripple like liquid gold. Then, without warning, a deafening set of roars tore through the skies.
From the glowing rift, dragons began their descent, their massive scaled bodies blotting out sections of the sky. Their scales shimmered like gemstones under the celestial glow—
Hundreds of them poured forth from the sky, their powerful wings beating against the wind as they found places to land within the vast dragon city. The ground shook with their arrival, their mighty roars echoing through the night, declaring their loyalty to the Overlord who had summoned them.
Alister gazed up at the sight. His tail swayed slightly as a deep, satisfied chuckle rumbled from his throat.
“A magnificent sight indeed,” he thought, watching as his newly summoned kin took their places among the growing ranks of his kingdom.
Behind him, Cinder watched, hereyes tracking the descending dragons with silent admiration, while Terra adjusted her glasses, a small smile gracing her lips.
Draven, still kneeling, finally rose to his feet, his purple eyes filled with resolve. “With this, our forces have become an army worthy of your name, my lord.”
Alister turned his gaze to him. “An army, yes. But we must ensure they are all put to good use. They will be trained, disciplined, and strengthened until they surpass all limitations.”
Draven’s lips curled into a sharp grin. “Then I shall see to it personally. I will ensure not a single one of them falls short of our expectations.”
Alister turned his gaze to Cinder, his golden eyes gleaming. “With an army this vast, I believe it is only fitting that the Overlord and his Queen address them properly.”
Cinder’s lips curled into a smirk. “I understand,” she replied smoothly, spreading her wings. She assumed he meant for them to approach their kin in their current form, but the moment she prepared to take flight, something unexpected happened.
A surge of power erupted from Alister. The air around him vibrated with raw energy, and the Dragon skull Crest in his eyes flared with a blinding radiance. His body began to expand, growing larger and larger, his draconic form pushing past its previous limits.
A deep rumble filled the air as an additional set of wings erupted from his back, bringing the total to six. His tail extended further, the tip sharpening into a golden sword-like edge that gleamed under the portal’s celestial glow. His black and gold horns twisted upward in an elegant curve until a radiant, golden spiked ring materialized behind his massive head, floating like a crown of divine power.
Gasps of awe and shock filled the dragon city. The assembled dragons instinctively bowed lower as Alister’s transformation reached completion. Then, with a slow inhale, he unleashed a deafening, earth-shaking roar.
The sheer force of his voice sent shockwaves through the air, rattling stone structures and making even the mightiest of dragons tremble. Without hesitation, every dragon present fell to their knees, their heads bowed in submission to their Overlord.
Cinder’s red eyes gleamed as she, too, embraced her true form. Flames erupted around her as she shifted, her scales shimmering. Majestic and fearsome, she took to the skies alongside Alister, their combined presence exuding a pressure so immense that even the most battle-hardened dragons dared not look up.
The two descended gracefully before the gathered horde, landing with a resounding thud that echoed across the city. The silence that followed was deafening.
Hundreds of dragons remained in reverence, their heads lowered, awaiting the words of their rulers.
Alister stood before the massive gathering, his colossal form towering over the kneeling dragons.
His six wings stretched wide, casting an imposing shadow over the city. The golden ring behind his head pulsed with power, radiating an aura of absolute dominance. His gaze swept over the hundreds before him—warriors, scholars, tacticians, and guardians of dragonkind—all awaiting his words.
He took a slow breath, his deep voice resonating like thunder across the city.
“I have called you forth not as mere soldiers, but as the future of our kind.”
His words carried weight, pressing into the souls of all present.
“Long ago, your lives ended—some in battle, others through time’s cruel passage. But death did not claim you completely. I have called you forth, not merely to exist, but to reclaim the honor that was taken from us.”
His gaze swept over the gathering, the weight of centuries pressing into each word.
“The dragon race was once unmatched—mighty, revered, unshaken. But this world is not the one you once knew, ours was destroyed, and in our absence, something festers in the shadows.”
Golden ether crackled through the air as his voice hardened.
“An ancient darkness encroaches upon these lands. It seeks to corrupt, to consume, to erase everything in its path. It is relentless. It is merciless. And it is coming.”
His wings unfurled further, the air thick with power as his presence alone made the earth tremble beneath him.
“I did not summon you to idly witness the passing of an era. I summoned you to forge a new one. To unite dragonkind not just in strength, but in purpose.”
Golden flames ignited in his palm, flickering as if reflecting the very essence of his will.
“This is your second life, a second war, and a second chance. Stand with me, and together, we will make the dragon race whole once more. Stand with me, and together, we will burn away the darkness that dares to challenge us!”
For a moment, the only sound was the wind howling through the cliffs.
Then—
A thunderous roar erupted from the horde, shaking the very heavens. Flames and energy surged into the sky, a unified declaration of loyalty.
Alister let the moment linger before slowly returning to his humanoid form. His wings folded behind him, the golden ring fading from sight—but the power in his gaze remained.
Turning to Draven and Terra, he issued his next command.
“Organize them. Assign them responsibilities, but do not neglect the drwgin kin.”
Draven’s sharp nod was immediate. “As you command, my lord.”
Terra adjusted her glasses, her eyes glinting. “They’ll be ready.”
As Alister turned to leave, the presence of Alzuring flickered into the space. The sky dragon bowed deeply, reporting on the training of their forces.
Alzuring kneeled immediately. “Forgive my delay, my lord. I was training the others in striking moving targets outside the city.”
Alister regarded him with a sharp nod. “Good. Precision is as vital as strength. Continue their training.”
Alzuring bowed lower. “It will be done.”
With that, Alister made his way through the castle halls—his next destination.
Mar’Garet’s quarters.
