Chapter 774: The Ploy
ChaosBringer felt a fuming sense of anger bubble within him once the Arc Ship Operators left.
If they could approach him with such a bullshit offer, they could certainly approach other Uprising members too, corrupting the organisation from the within and trying to make it hollow from the inside out.
‘I need to beware of my own members in the future….. there’s no need to report this incident to Lord Boss, but I need to be wary of everyone under me from here on out. There could be snakes everywhere’ ChaosBringer concluded, as although he did not utter a word, knowing full well that the ankle monitor on him was always listening, he resolved to be wary of everyone in the future, even if they were old friends.
While he did not understand why the ship operators would stoop so low and try to bring down the uprising using such shallow means, he did not need to understand the bigger picture to decide that he did not wish to betray Lord Boss.
For good or bad, ChaosBringer had decided to wholeheartedly serve that man till he died, and that loyalty was unlikely to change.
For him, Lord Boss was a worthy master to serve who was both ruthless and generous at the same time, and hence for ChaosBringer, the greatest joy in life was to make his master proud.
The promise of unlimited money or power could excite other gamers, but for him, only the approval of his master mattered.

(Meanwhile, Raven, Raya and Captain Kid)The trio walked back to their quarters in utter disbelief after ChaosBringer kicked them out, as this was one outcome they never saw coming.
“Motherfucker baited us….” Raven complained towards the end, as when he retrospected how ChaosBringer acted, he realized that ChaosBringer did not need to indulge them as much as he did if he only wished to reject them towards the end.
But he purposefully baited them into thinking that he was considering their offer, although he had long made up his mind to turn them down.
It was a brutal bait and switch, and the three of them had fallen face first into the trap.
“His loyalty is admirable, but it’s going to create a hell lot of headache for the rest of us, as the Unity Government is not going to be happy with ChaosBringer rejecting their offer” Kid said as he massaged his temples, already envisioning the headache that awaited them in the future.
“What I don’t understand is why can’t the Unity Government take the loss and let the matter be? It’s just a game, the Empire toppling within it means nothing much–” Raya complained, as both Kid and Raven sighed at her words.
The three of them already knew the answer to this question, and although Raya complained about it, she knew she was just being dramatic, as in her heart she understood the game as well as the other operators.
Legally, the Unity Government could not prevent the landing migrants on planet Terra Nova to work for any organization that they wanted.
The humans from Earth could hence choose to work for the Unity Government, they could choose to work for their enemies the Demons, or a third party entirely and nobody could prevent the humans from making that choice.
However, out of the 250 million humans that were being transported, less than a million were likely to be actively recruited, while the rest were sure to become low-skilled labor for the Unity Government, bolstering their population numbers.
While in the game Terra Nova Online, the demons were depicted as an evil race and the main opponents of the humans, in reality the demons were not a backward race, consisting only of brain dead warriors, but were a genuine force to be reckoned with, that were both smart and welcoming to strangers.
The Unity Government needed this batch of humans to mostly serve as cannon fodder against the demons in the great ongoing war, which was why they paid the universal government a pretty buck to design the game Terra Nova Online as they did.
The game not only allowed the unskilled humans to evolve into low levelled warriors capable of casting spells and fighting for survival, but also imprinted the image of demons being evil in their minds, which was precisely what the government wanted.
However, what they did not want was for the players to believe that they could topple the Unity Government if they rebelled, or have any hopes of considering rebellion, incase they ever grew unhappy with the government in the future.
While it was still likely that over 90% of all humans landing on Terra Nova, went-on to serve the Unity Government, with all players having witnessed a successful uprising within the game, there was a high chance that they tried to replicate something similar, if they became dissatisfied with the government and their policies, which was exactly why the government was trying to crush the current rebel movement as hard as they did. ℞άꞐỖBËš
The unity government did not want the humans from Earth to believe that ‘One Man’ could change the outcome of a war, or that a rebel movement could actually topple the status quo someday, and hence they tried to undermine ‘TheBoss’ and his rebel movement at every turn.
As employees in-charge of the Arc Ship, Captain Kid and his staff had no other choice but to indulge the clients that had hired them to transport and train this batch of migrants, which was why, although they did not approve of their methods on a personal level, they were still forced to carry out their orders regardless.
“Well alright, time to report ChaosBringer’s decision to the Unity Government officials and hear them scream profane insults over the headset.
I’ll see you both later” Captain Kid said with a heavy smile, as the trio reached the staff area.
“All the best Captain, hold strong” Raven replied, as both him and Raya gave the Captain a proper salute.
