Chapter 471: Rank Up!
The ship fragment was hidden deep within the facility. However, with 0541 instant location detection as well as Phoenix’s instant teleportation, Jiang Fei reached the factory immediately and effortlessly.
“Have you obtained the factory’s control authority?” asked Jiang Fei.
“Yes. I have indeed connected to the factory,” said 0541.
“If you don’t mind, I’ll be taking this now,” said Jiang Fei to Phoenix.
She nodded and stared into nothingness. She had no interest at the ship fragment that was treated as precious cargo by the other nations. From the perspective of this Level 5 god-like entity, anything alien to her was nothing but trash. She could not understand why did Jiang Fei would want something like that.
With a flash of light, the large factory was quantized into light particles and absorb into the ring. The factory was not huge, just the size of a two-story house. It was not much when compared to the two previous ship fragments that Jiang Fei had taken in.
“If you’re done, I shall send you home,” said Phoenix.
“So… From now on, what do you plan to do?” asked Jiang Fei.
“I will continue my hunt for those who had hurt me!” said Phoenix with a tiny surge of power.
“Alright. I’ll leave you to it then. Please send me home,” said Jiang Fei. Even though she looked motivated, what filled Phoenix with motivation was nothing but vengeance. The previous conscience that was in that body, Jenny, was gone. The current conscience, Phoenix. had nothing to do but kill. Jiang Fei almost felt sorry for her. What would she do after she had found and killed everyone who had hurt her?
Phoenix snapped her fingers and the both of them re-appeared at the place where she had killed all of Ye Zhangfa’s men. Phoenix immediately left without saying anything, leaving Jiang Fei alone.
Jiang Fei realized immediately that there was no way he could go back via a cab. The only way left for him to go back home was via foot. Along the way, he recalled about the bodies of the men whom Phoenix had killed.
“0541, what has become of the bodies?” asked Jiang Fei.
“I have processed them and used their gene samples to produce a potion that resembles that Ant Milk.”
“What does it do?” asked Jiang Fei excitedly.
“The gene sample of the martial artist is not suitable to be used. Most of their abilities are obtained via years of training. Hence, their genes do not contain anything worthy. However, the Level 4 Vampire’s blood sample was powerful,” 0541 explained as he materialized a bottle yellow liquid.
“What does this do to me?” asked Jiang Fei. Somehow, he understood what 0541 was trying to convey. If he wanted more of this kind of potion, he would need to start finding ability users instead of fighters.
“This potion will raise your power level to Intermediate Level 3,” said 0541.
“That’s awesome!” cried Jiang Fei. Jiang Fei could not be too greedy. It was considered to be overwhelmingly fast for someone to rank up from the beginner stage of Level 2 to the intermediate stage of Level 3! Anyone who wanted to reach Level 3 would require many years of pure training as well as some talent.
The only downside to Jiang Fei’s rapid progression was that he needed to sacrifice other Metahumans. It was only lucky that Ye Zhangfa and his men had dared to challenge a Level 5. Jiang Fei was only there to pick up the loots.
“Alright! Let’s see what kind of power does a Level 3 have!” said Jiang Fei happily as he gulped down the entire bottle in one go.
Once the liquid entered his stomach, Jiang Fei immediately felt ill. He did not even bother to comment on the horrible taste of the potion.
“URGH! 0541! Why didn’t you warn me about the pain… You could have at least given me a heads up…:
Jiang Fei dropped to the ground and clutched his stomach tightly. He was really angry at 0541 for not telling him about the effects of the potion. On the other hand, it was a good means to distract himself from the pain.
“Indeed. I shall be conducting the maintenance of the Armor Factory. I will not be active for a period of time,” said 0541 as it disappeared. Perhaps it was to escape Jiang Fei’s massive scolding or it was really just trying to do its job. Either way, communication was stopped.
“F*ck you! You think you’re so smart huh!” cried Jiang Fei as he felt it funny for something like artificial intelligence to hide away from a scolding. Soon, the pain in his stomach grew worse. His shirt was drenched in sweat. His legs were so weak and he could no longer stand properly. He dropped to the ground flat and rolled on the ground like Neymar.
The pain in his stomach soon spread out to his entire body. His chest, his lower abdomen was continuously being assaulted by waves of piercing pain. It felt as if millions of tiny needles were flowing in his veins, piercing every organ he had in his body. It had gotten so bad that Jiang Fei wished that he could just faint from the pain, saving himself from having to suffer through the entire process. However, Jiang Fei’s incredible vitality prevented that.
Since he was young, even though Jiang Fei had never been good for sports, he had never been injured badly or suffered from any form of severe injury. He was punished to stand under the hot sun but never once did he suffer heat stroke. His vitality was strong. His body was so strong that his mind was clear as he felt every single pain.
“Come on! Let me faint!” cried Jiang Fei to himself. He did not care about anything anymore. The pain was too unbearable that he shouted from the top of his lungs to ease even a tiny bit of the pain. Once his body had gotten slightly used to the pain, Jiang Fei managed to get on his knees. He punched the ground so hard that it cracked. After multiple punches, Jiang Fei could finally feel the pain beginning to subside.
After some time, the ground around him was drenched in his sweat. Jiang Fei finally regained his strength to stand back on his feet. He stood up and stretched himself out. He gazed to the east and saw the rising sun. It was then that he realized that he had spent the entire night suffering through the pain that the potion had caused. However, instead of feeling tired, Jiang Fei could feel a powerful wave of energy pulsating in him. His Qi pool was filled to the brim. At that moment, he understood that his Qi pool had gained the ability to condense more Qi than before. He had reached Level 3 power level. Without the power of the equipment, Jiang Fei could still be a formidable opponent.
Jiang Fei turned around to look for something to strike and found a boulder. Even though it was not as tall as he hoped for, it was still hard. Jiang Fei thrust out his palm and used Thunder Palm on the boulder. It did not take much for Jiang Fei but the boulder was immediately cracked into multiple pieces.
‘Nice,’ said Jiang Fei to himself. The boulder was hard and solid, much harder than the punching bags that Jiang Fei had been practicing within Manda Square. His strength increase was very obvious. His bare hand attacks were almost at the same level as when he had the gloves on.
