Two years ago, the happy pie of her life had turned into a broken doll. Evelyn didnot know that her daughter and Jasper were in a relationship until he secretly contacted her, explained everything that happened between them, and asked her for help. Her daughter, suddenly talking about a breakup, must have a solid reason. Eve has a gut feeling that Jasper's grandmother is involved in their separation. She waited for Harley to open up, but no. There is no use in ruining dates anymore. Evelyn decided to change the course of the plan.

At the sudden mention of Harley, Mabel glanced at Evelyn with a source of amazement. Harley is very close to their family, but the thought of making her a daughter-in-law never transpired to her mind. It was not only Harley. Mabel had not thought of any girl because her mind had solidly established a feeling that her son likes Andrew.

''Are you serious, Eve?'' Mabel examined Evelyn's face to see if she meant it.

''Does my face looks like I am joking?'' Evelyn questioned back, trying to imitate with a serious expression. ''What do you think of my daughter?''

''Of course, I like Harley, Eve.'' Mabel's words were genuine. ''But that old woman is stubborn on bringing her friend's daughter into our home.'' After her father-in-law passed away, that woman had taken full authority over the household. She was scared that her husband would snap at her one day, dropping the mother title aside.

''Jasper is also not showing interest in any girl.'' Mabel's shoulders dropped at the thought.

''Is it?'' Evelyn smiled, knowing about the outcome. ''Then try asking if your son is willing to marry my daughter.''

Mabel nodded her head, although she knows the answer already. Her son will outrightly reject it. But Mabel doesn't want to voice her thoughts in front of her friend. Trying is better than nothing. Evelyn has raised her hopes. Now, she wants Harley as her daughter-in-law.

''Let's go. Heather and others must be waiting.'' Evelyn said. She had played her part, and the ball is in Jasper's court now. She has to wait to get a word of how he will play his counterpart against his grandmother. She knows that woman will reject Harley and try her ways to manipulate. What a vile woman, Evelyn thought to herself.

''Let's go. It's already late.'' Mabel nodded, and they got up and were back to the place again.

Back at the terrace, finishing the dinner, Arnold called Leena. ''What's that girl's name?'' He pointed his eyes to the girl who was sitting inside the canopy. He had been observing the girl in blue from the time he has come here. She is not only beautiful, but he felt a natural charm in her—a perfect match for his son.

Leena pinched in between her brows. So, his eyes landed on Kyle now? She wondered if uncle Arnold had approached all the young girls in the country for his son. What is the use when father and son are not in sync? Leena knows it is not going to yield any results, but still, she replied. ''Her name is Kyle. She is Austin's cousin.''

''Sawyer family?'' Arnold's smile deepened at the mention of the name. ''Is she married?''

''No, but she has a_''

Leena's words were still unfinished; Arnold has gone, and she saw him going in Kyle's direction. Is he that desperate to find a girl for his son?

Kyle was enjoying the view when she heard someone address her from behind. When she turned back, she saw a man standing in front of her, with a smile on his face. As she observed his face, she felt him a little familiar.

''I heard you are Austin's cousin?''

''Umm..yes.''

 I am Arnold Weller.''

''Arnold Weller!'' She repeated the name, and soon another name stuck in her brain. ''Kurt is your_''

''My son. Do you know him?'' Excitement was written over Arnold's face.

''We studied in the same school. I was his junior.'' Replied Kyle with a smile. That explains why she felt him very familiar. So, he is Kurt's dad.

''I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Kyle, Uncle,''

''A very bright name.'' Kurt, and Kyle. Arnold muttered under his breath. Both names start with the same letter. Arnold prayed that this match at least should work out. He is getting tired of searching girls for that stupid son. All his friend's sons are married and happily settled, except that dunderhead son.

''Thank you, uncle'' Kyle felt father and son are polar opposite. Father is very friendly, while son always wears a serious face as if he is a dead man.

''Are you working?'' He questioned. Work or no work, Arnold doesn't mind. He has enough wealth for the generations to feed. He only needs a daughter-in-law. He will worry about the children later.

''I am a heart surgeon, Uncle.'' She replied.

''Good profession. Only doctors can cure parents.'' He questioned again. ''Where do you live?''

''Why do you want to know where she lives?''

Arnold tightly clutched the canopy pole as if he wanted to crush it, hearing his son's voice. He will appear right on the time when he is involved in an important discussion.

Hearing the familiar voice, Kyle immediately looked at the towering figure. Where did he go since morning? Their eyes met, and both turned away awkwardly when the morning scene replayed in their minds.

''Don't mind my dad's words.'' Kurt briefly glanced at Kyle as he said. Since morning, he had been sitting in the nearby park alone, embarrassed to turn up in front of her. He arrived here only when his stomach screamed for food.

''Let's go, dad. You don't have work here.'' Kurt uttered in a sinister voice, but Arnold didnot budge from the place.

As the son and father were in a heated conversation, Leena arrived and informed Kyle that Nick would drop her at home.

''Where do you live, child?'' Arnold asked, looking at Kyle.

''Redwing glas, uncle.''

''Why bothering Nick? My son also lives nearby Redwing.'' Arnold turned to his son and sternly declared. ''Drop her at home.''

Leena suppressed her smile, watching Kurt's blazing inferno as if he wanted to burn his father.

''No worries, uncle. I will go with Nick.'' Kyle said. She can feel Kurt and his dad are at each other ends. ''Kurt hadn't had dinner also. I better go with Nick'' She tried to reason, thinking that Arnold would drop the idea.

''Ah! My son has a habit of eating late at night. He can eat later.'' Arnold's shameless answer surprised not only Kyle but also Leena.

Kyle helplessly looked at Leena, asking for help.

''Let him have dinner first, Uncle Arnold,'' Leena suggested. ''He must be hungry.''

''Fine.'' Arnold sighed, and while eating, he settled next to his son until he finished his dinner, afraid that he would escape from his clutches as usual.

''Drop her at home, and call me. If I hear a complaint that you are_''

''Stop with your drama, dad,'' Kurt screamed when his patience started to wear off hearing his dad's lectures.

When Kyle opened the front door of the car, Kurt immediately stopped her from stepping in. ''wait...wait..wait...Sit in the backseat.''

''Why? Nobody is going to sit in the front seat, isn't it?'' She questioned.

''I prefer the seat to be empty,'' Kurt replied in an impassive tone. ''I hate someone invading my privacy.''

''Do you feel I am not clean?'' Kyle asked in a whisper, hurt by his words.

''I_I didnot mean in that way.'' Kurt clarified, but Kyle's disappointment in her eyes was visible. Damn this girl! ''You can sit in the front seat.''

''Thank you.'' As Kyle climbed the front seat, Kurt's expressions hardened.

During the whole journey, Kurt's back was as stiff as a wall. Kyle tried to strike a conversation, but his reply was all in monosyllables except when he asked for the house directions.

''Stop here; the sky blue building is my home. I can walk from here.'' She said. Landon's men are guarding the front gate, and climbing the compound is the only option left for her.

At a distance, Kurt observed several men dressed in black waiting at the blue building. ''Who are they? Why are they standing near your home?'' His one hand reached behind to take out the 92Fs for protection.

''They are actually...my boyfriend had put them for security.'' Kyle opened the car door.

Why is Landon posing security around Kyle? Did he find out? But he is extra careful when reaching out to Kyle. He will have to investigate this matter.

''Thanks for the lift,'' Kyle said, bringing him out of the thoughts.

Kurt nodded his head, and before she closed the door, he called her. ''Kyle.''

''Hmm?'' Kyle glanced in his direction. Seconds passed, Kurt didnot utter a word. Finally, what felts like an eternity, two words traveled from his mouth, which utterly shocked Kyle.

''Stay safe.''
