The dragon's harem

Chapter 1402 - 1402: Hunting A God I

When Gojo finally came back to his senses, Alexander was reeling back, engulfed in the ever-consuming void.

Gojo could see Alexander, but he couldn’t do anything now. The Forbidden knowledge had hit just as hard as it hit Alexander, and if he was to wager who of them would stand first, he’d bet on Alexander.

But he wasn’t worried. It was the time for the first trap to activate, the trap built from Lucy’s divine magic, and it was just a simple trap. One so insidious and hard to notice that even Gojo was terrified when he finished making it.

He looked at Alexander with a smile and then faded into the void, hiding until he recovers a bit. The trap had already activated the moment the forbidden knowledge stopped flooding into both of them.

Binds of gluttony, anyone who can’t evade the touch of Gojo’s void would be subjected to an ever-consuming hunger. The catch is that they won’t feel it. All of Alexander’s actions would require more stamina and divine magic than they should, and the more he moves, the more he’ll consume, rapidly draining him.

Thanks to the forbidden knowledge, Alexander has very little chance of finding out, and the only way to dispel it is to catch Gojo and kill him to escape his expansion.

There was another problem with this trap. Gojo was protected from it since this was his void, but anyone else would be affected, including Arad. While Lucy could protect Gojo since she knows him well and their relationship is already vast enough for her to treat him as her paladin, Arad was mostly a stranger.

Arad had to contend with the trap on his own. But, of course, Gojo didn’t throw his younger brother into a trap without a way out. Arad was a void dragon and was aware of the poison seeping through Gojo’s void, so he could resist it by unleashing his own expansion to protect himself.

Arad was now flying through Gojo’s void, engulfed by his own void to keep himself safe. His first job was to activate Kali’s trap as quickly as he could so Alexander wouldn’t notice it.

Neither Arad nor Gojo knew how long Alexander would remain stunned from the forbidden knowledge, so moving quickly was crucial.

Right now, Alexander was consuming himself from the inside out, burning more energy than he should’ve been. And when Arad waved his hand, setting Kali’s trap. Alexander’s situation got worse.

Alexander started getting slower, weaker, and his essence and soul faded rapidly. He was now spending more energy to do a quarter of what he could before, and that puts too much stress on his body and soul, so he had started killing himself slowly from the inside out.

To this point, Arad and Gojo haven’t started a war with Alexander. They haven’t started a fight as they just dropped a trap and hid away, and they didn’t even try to one-shot him.

The only thing between Alexander and his imminent demise was time. Of course, Arad didn’t want to give him the time to figure things out and find a way to survive, so he started moving.

Arad’s job while Gojo was out was to kite Alexander around the lightless void and cause him to exhaust himself faster. Here in the void, Alexander was blind, deaf, couldn’t feel or smell anything, and even his magical sense had been blocked. He was stuck in the empty void, with nothing around.

All Arad needed to do was light a spark far away to draw the dying god toward it, and then spark another far away.

There was one problem: even while weakened like this, Alexander was a harrowing monster. It took him just a fraction of a second to appear where Arad ignited a spark.

If Arad were a tiny bit late to hide his tracks, Alexander would find and catch him.

Light a spark, and run away. Alexander would blow the spark of magic apart and find himself once again alone in the void. Soon, another spark would light in the far distance, and he’ll fly at it like a headless chicken.

This plan won’t work for long. The moment Alexander starts recovering from getting hit with the forbidden knowledge, he’ll calm down and realise this is all a trap. This is why Arad needed to tire him even faster.

To make the trip even harder, Arad spaced the sparks as far apart as they could be and made sure to make Alexander fly from one corner of the void to the other, all while spending way too much magic and divine energy to push through Gojo’s void.

It was then that Alexander did something that might just spoil Arad and Gojo’s plan. He unleashed all of the angels hiding within the depths of his soul, summoning an army of over ten thousand divine servants to do his bidding.

Instead of risking it with another spark, Arad shifted his attention to Gojo’s void. The two of them were brothers, so when Arad tried to control Gojo’s void, Gojo gave him control without any resistance. It felt strange, like Gojo was blind and Arad was leading him around, telling him where to walk and how to punch.

But Arad only needed Gojo to do one thing: to buy them more time.

[Time Slow: 99.999%] Gojo slowed time nearly to a halt, but kept it slowly trickling forward so Alexander won’t notice in the void.

As Arad expected, without any sensory input, neither the angels nor Alexander noticed time slowing down.

This had made each second as long as a hundred thousand seconds. That’s almost 28 hours for Arad to work with. And he was going to use that time well.

Arad swam through the lightless void and approached his first prey from the darkness. The angel was alone, at the outskirts of all other angels. To her, she had just been summoned into this void without any instructions on what to do; she didn’t know where to start.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed her from behind and closed her mouth, no, covered her whole face. She wanted to scream, but couldn’t. Soon, she could feel two fangs piercing her neck.

The angel felt her life fade away, sucked from her veins in the blink of an eye. And before she could know it, she was floating alone in the void, looking at Arad.

She looked at his eyes for a second, bowed, and then faded into his blood. Another vampire spawn joined his army. This was Arad’s plan: to silently assassinate Alexander’s whole army in a day without ringing the alarm, ending the war before it could start.

But what Arad didn’t know was that something weird happened inside his stomach.

The vampire angel landed among the vampires, and they looked at her. “Welcome home.” Said one of the paladins to her, “Resisted well, angel? See, all end up serving the blood lord, not even you divine beings can resist his blood call.”

The angel looked at the vampires with a passive face, sighed, and soon, the vampire cursed burned away from her blood. She cured herself without any effort, alarming everyone there.

But to everyone’s surprise, the angel didn’t attack. She just ignored everyone and looked around, her eyes stopping in the direction of Arad’s soul.

She got on her knees, prostrated herself, and stopped moving, resting there like a statue. Soon, more angels showed up as vampires, but all of them immediately dispelled the curse and turned toward Arad’s soul, soon turning into statues like the first angel.
