The dragon's harem

Chapter 1404 - 1404: Divine Origin

Kali was sitting at a desk, looking at the window with a smile as Diana clipped her nails. “Little Diana, a test. Answer wrong and I’ll skin you alive.”

Diana lifted her head and looked at Kali’s face. The little girl wasn’t even looking at her. “Go ahead.”

“Does the overgod have a portfolio?”

Diana remained silent for a few long seconds and spoke. “Depends on what overgod you’re talking about. AO, or the current one?”

“AO, of course, we all know what Uncle Cain has.” Kali gently kicked her in the face. “You aren’t buying any time dancing over the bush. You know, a snake might lash out of it and bite you.”

“The portfolios and primordial concepts came from AO, so he doesn’t have any.” Diana replied, and Kali smiled, “Did I tell you that before? No, I didn’t. You’re a smart one.”

Kali looked up, “He made the portfolios so others can help him do his work. He won’t waste time checking every sea, so he made the portfolio of the sea, then created a living being, and gave that portfolio to that being to watch over the sea for him.”

Kali clenched her tiny fist. “He got bored, and Yog’s jokes were already getting stale, so he created me and creation so we can fight and entertain him. In the end, we ended up just doing work all around the world, ripping worlds apart and rebuilding them from the astral dust and ash.”

Diana looked at Kali, then at her toenails and sighed, “Please forgive me for asking, but wouldn’t it have been better if he kept the power and ruled the world himself? He was omnipotent, right?”

Kali laughed, “Of course he was omnipotent, but that doesn’t mean he has to, or wants to do all the work himself.” Kali lifted her foot and wiggled her toes, “Look, I used destruction to clip and polish them perfectly. I don’t need you here to do them for me. I don’t even need to take a bath! I can destroy all the dirt and grime.” She rested her feet on Diana’s shoulder, “But, it’s more fun to have you serve me. It’s more fun to jump and splash in the water, it’s more fun to live as a mundane being than a divine god.”

Diana nodded, “I understand.” Her eyes then drifted to the ground. “What should I do with the nails this time?”

“Grind them to dust and give them to the artillery angels. One sprinkle can cause a tiny fireball to burn as bright as the sun and explode with just as much destruction.” Kali jumped to her feet, and Diana stood. “They are divine remnants after all.” She then looked at her, “What brought the question about AO?”

“Nothing, just crossed my mind.”

Diana didn’t believe her and sighed, “If you don’t want to tell me, then so be it. But it makes me feel a bit sad.”

Kali looked at her, “It’s not that I don’t want to tell you. It’s that you’re better off not knowing. You’re the one who will want to remain in the dark.”

Diana looked at her in silence. “What if I wanted to know?”

“I’ll tell you, but you won’t be able to take it.”

Diana looked at her with a smug face. “How bad could it be? I’ve heard and seen many things.” She then got silent for a second and knelt down, “I must ask for forgiveness, I didn’t mean to boast. You’ve seen much more than I or anyone else could.”

Diana slowly lifted her eyes. “But I want to know.”

“Fine.” Kali shifted into her destruction form and looked at her, “Arad is AO, he just used multiple portfolios at once, including mine.”

Diana froze in silence. She didn’t hear the second part of what Kali said. Her mind was already freaking out, remembering how she was riding on Arad’s back and how she kicked him.

All blood drained from her veins and she pissed herself, drenshing the floor in divine water. And before a second could pass, she fell face first, dead. As an angel, daring to even lift her head in front of AO was enough to make her want to jump into a burning sun, let alone what she did.

Kali poked her with her toes, and then sighed. “I know it.” She then flicked her fingers, and Diana was standing once again, confused.

“Did? Did something happen?” She looked around.

“I’ve told you, and you died. Look at the mess you’ve made.” Kali turned her around and gave her a solid kick on the butt, “Go and bring something to clean this. There are things you’re better off not knowing.”

“You told me? And I…” She looked down with a red face.

“Yeah, I did, and you had me destroy that memory. Good thing souls take a few moments to get destroyed.” Kali looked out of the window. “Now get to work.”

As Arad was pulling Alexander’s attention from the front while pretending to be his wife, the other three incarnations snuck from behind and lifted their arms, plunging their fists into the god’s exposed back.

Each of the incarnations aimed for Alexander’s soul, specifically, each hunted one of his portfolios.

If the portfolios were what made Alexander an annoying god to face, he’ll just have to take those from him. He can see souls, and thus, he should be able to find and target portfolios and forcibly rip them apart from him.

“Fucker!” Alexander was about to spin around and kick the incarnations, but Arad, who was pretending to be his wife, lunged forward and grabbed him by the soul, pulling in the opposite direction.

It was just too perfect. Four of Arad and Alexander had four things that could be stolen: A soul and three portfolios.

“NO! You won’t! Those are mine! You bastard.” Alexander yelled, putting all of his will into keeping his soul intact and assuring that the portfolios remained anchored in his very being.

“You ignorant spec of waste.” A woman’s voice boomed from inside Arad’s stomach, and an arm emerged out of divine light, grabbing Alexander by the face. She was an angel, one of the many that ended up in Arad’s souls, Alexander’s former servant.

From behind the angel, all ten thousand other angels exploded out like a violent swarm of angry bees. “You dare claim what isn’t yours!”

She kicked Alexander away from Arad, separating him from the portfolios.

As Alexander landed, he had lost his portfolios, but the shock and loss helped him recover a lot of his power. He might not be a god anymore, but he had returned to a near-peak as the shackles of the seal were binding him through the portfolios.

“Traitors!” He growled, and the angel looked at him with a crazed smile.

“Bastards and bitches! Get moving, and if you’re dead then fucking move, no one gives a shit! We’re going to make the one in the heavens seethe and cry blood.”

“You came out on your own?” Arad looked around, and the angel looked at him with a smile, “AHH!” She moaned on her own, but then looked forward, “Of course, we’re not like those lazy fiends you keep there. We’ll get the work done on our own, clean after ward, then inform you while sucking your toes, if you want of course.” She cracked her fists, “And now we’ve got someone to beat.”

Neither Alexander nor Arad understood why, but the angels were boiling with rage and malice, all directed toward Alexander.
