The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron
Chapter 1635: 1732: Not In Control of OneselfChapter 1635: Chapter 1732: Not In Control of Oneself
Fang Lin was furious at this moment. Around him, eight Great Longevity experts pointed their swords at his vital points. If he dared to make any sudden moves, their swords would undoubtedly pierce his body at once.
Although Fang Lin possessed the True Dragon Indestructible Body, it didn’t mean he was invulnerable to blades and swords. Ultimately, he was still flesh and blood. Judging by the appearance of the swords in these eight individuals’ hands, they seemed to be Divine Weapons listed in the renowned Sword Ranking. There was no way he could withstand them.
Yet, to follow these eight people willingly was something Fang Lin refused to accept. Who knew what kind of dragon’s den and tiger’s lair awaited him? Once in their territory, wouldn’t they decide everything? Would he even have a chance to resist?
But if he didn’t go with them, these eight seemed prepared to use force to take him away.
Could he count on someone else?
The strongest here, Heaven King of the East Pole, was already entangled by the Pavilion Master of the Sealing Sword Pavilion. Whether anyone would step in to save him was uncertain. Even if someone did, could they overpower these eight Great Longevity experts?
Fang Lin detested the feeling of being trapped and powerless the most.
“Move!”
The Eight Swordsmen moved in unison, surrounding Fang Lin in the middle and forcing him to follow.
The commotion attracted many people’s attention. Dragon Haotian, the Tang Emperor, and the Old Emperor Tang immediately intercepted the Eight Swordsmen’s path. But soon after, their expressions changed.
Without a word, the Eight Swordsmen swung their swords in a synchronized strike.
Boom!!!
Eight massive blasts of Sword Qi surged forth. Not only could it split mountains and shatter seas, it felt as if even the heavens might crack under the overwhelming force of their Sword Qi.
Unable to withstand the attack, Dragon Haotian and the others were forced back. Only the Old Emperor Tang, Li Yuanshan, let out an enraged roar and unleashed a dual-palm strike, holding his ground without retreating a single step.
“The Sealing Sword Pavilion’s people, your reach is becoming far too audacious. Daring to infiltrate even our Tang Capital?” Li Yuanshan shouted angrily.
“We mean no offense. We simply ask for the path to be cleared.” Among the Eight Swordsmen, the leading woman spoke coldly, her tone icy and indifferent, treating everyone with the same detached demeanor.
“Hmph! If you want to leave, that’s fine. But the number you come with must match the number you leave with. Not even one extra!” Li Yuanshan replied.
“We are under orders to invite Master Fang Lin to the Sealing Sword Pavilion as a guest. We ask for your cooperation and that you do not obstruct us, or we will slaughter everyone here,” the leading woman said, her green jade short sword glowing with a chilling light.
Li Yuanshan’s expression darkened. He hadn’t expected the Sealing Sword Pavilion to act so recklessly, even threatening widespread bloodshed in the Tang Capital.
This was outrageous! The Tang Capital was under the jurisdiction of the Li Royal Family. If the Sealing Sword Pavilion’s people caused havoc here, wouldn’t it stomp on the dignity of the Li Royal Family?
“You wouldn’t dare!” Li Yuanshan exclaimed coldly, as three elderly figures emerged from the royal city to stand beside him.
These elders appeared exceptionally aged, their bodies exuding a lifeless aura with little vitality. It was clear they were approaching the end of their lifespan.
However, the energy radiating from these elders was astonishing, even surpassing Li Yuanshan by a small margin.
Clearly, these elders were only a step away from the Immortal realm. Yet, due to limited longevity, they were unable to truly cross into immortality. Their souls had reached the Immortal state, but their decaying bodies remained in the Half-step Immortal stage.
In a sense, these elders could still be considered Immortal experts, even if their bodies were no longer pristine.
Even so, these three half-dead elders were enough to make the Eight Swordsmen uneasy.
Those present were also stunned, realizing these hidden elders were royal experts of the Li Royal Family.
Seeing these three appear, Fang Lin’s eyes glimmered with a hint of joy. Yet the worry in his heart did not diminish.
While these elders were indeed formidable, holding off the Eight Swordsmen might still prove too difficult.
Even Fang Lin could discern that their decrepit bodies were fragile and could become a fatal weakness if forced into action.
Considering the Eight Swordsmen’s mastery of swordsmanship and their proficiency in bodily damage, it seemed the three elders might suffer more in an outright confrontation.
“The three of us are here. It would be best if the members of the Sealing Sword Pavilion exercise some restraint,” one elder stated, his gaze cold as he looked at the Eight Swordsmen.
“If the three of you step aside, we will leave immediately without making trouble in the Tang Capital. However, the individual must come with us—this point is non-negotiable. If you insist on fighting, we Eight will oblige. As for how many lives are lost as a result, that will no longer be our concern,” the leading woman said with a hostile tone.
Repeated interference had stirred her killing intent. Were it not for the Pavilion Master’s orders to take Fang Lin quietly without excessive conflict, she would’ve already lashed out with lethal strikes.
Few realized that this unidentified woman had once been renowned as the Sword Head responsible for the highest number of deaths. At the time, she was vilified by numerous so-called righteous sects.
Her temperament was notoriously erratic, and even within the Sealing Sword Pavilion, teeming with expert swordsmen, she remained unruly and insubordinate, answering only to the Pavilion Master himself.
The three elders revealed hesitant expressions. Though they had appeared, whether they’d fight remained undecided. Especially in the Tang Capital, any battle could easily spiral out of control, endangering innocent bystanders and tarnishing the Li Royal Family’s reputation.
The Sealing Sword Pavilion knew no bounds, but the Li Royal Family had its limits—chief among them being the sanctity of the Tang Capital.
“Sigh.” The three elders sighed helplessly, retreating a step in unison.
Li Yuanshan and the Tang Emperor’s faces darkened, furious that the three elders had chosen to yield.
Without further words, the Eight Swordsmen swiftly departed from the Tang Capital, taking Fang Lin with them.
Huang Hanqing, carrying Xu Yanbing, also followed the Eight Swordsmen without opposition. Some refrained from acting out of unwillingness, while others recognized their powerlessness.
In the depths of the sky, Heaven King of the East Pole had the capability to interfere but was thoroughly restrained by five famed swords, unable to break free or hinder the Eight Swordsmen.
Seeing that the Eight Swordsmen had succeeded and were retreating, the Pavilion Master of the Sealing Sword Pavilion smiled at the Heaven King of the East Pole. “Well, I’ve got what I came for. I won’t continue fighting you anymore.”
The Heaven King of the East Pole snorted heavily, gritting his teeth in indignation.
“Whatever it is you’re planning, as long as I’m alive, you will not succeed!” he declared, preparing to retrieve a treasure to use against the Pavilion Master.
“East Pole, must you force me to unleash my Ninth Sword?” the Pavilion Master remarked with a half-smirk.
ps: Fourth update of the day. Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! I’m watching the Spring Festival Gala right now—what an awkward experience. Fortunately, I got to see Hu Ge, which brought a little comfort. Can’t say how much more awkwardness awaits in the program, but I’ll check tomorrow after updates. Looks like I’ll be staying up late tonight.
