The Extreme Alchemist of the Mighty Cauldron
Chapter 1640: 1737: The Trend of the TimesChapter 1640: Chapter 1737: The Trend of the Times
The Pill Dao competition between the Pill Alliance and the Pill Dao families was abruptly concluded due to the sudden intervention of the Sealing Sword Pavilion, cutting short what should have been a prolonged rivalry lasting several more days.
Nobody anticipated such an event—the two individuals, Xu Yanbing and Fang Lin, were directly taken away by the people from the Sealing Sword Pavilion.
After the unexpected incident, both sides convened and decided to forgo the competition among the younger generation of Pill Refiners. Instead, they transitioned directly into contests among the older generation of Pill Refiners.
Of course, since the Pill Alliance had already won two of the matches among the younger generation, the Pill Dao families tacitly acknowledged the Pill Alliance’s victory in that segment of the competition.
The most frustrated person, without a doubt, was Long Zhixin. The competition was halted halfway through, and his opponents disappeared—what was this supposed to mean?
As for the contests among the older generation of Pill Refiners that followed, the outcomes were equally unexpected. The Pill Alliance secured three wins out of five matches, ultimately defeating the Pill Dao families.
Thus, this highly anticipated Pill Dao competition, which had stirred the Nine Countries, ended in the Pill Alliance’s victory, despite all the twists and turns.
Such an outcome was something many hadn’t foreseen.
On the side of the Pill Dao families, their anger was palpable. The series of defeats in this competition not only left them humiliated but also exacerbated conflicts among the top-ranking clans, particularly directed at the Long Family. As the leading family, their failure in the competition drew both overt and covert criticism from other families.
Meanwhile, the prominent figures of the various factions also gleaned much insight from this Pill Dao competition. What appeared to be a fading Pill Alliance, in truth, had rebuilt itself from its ruins, showing faint signs of a resurgence.
On the other hand, the seemingly formidable Pill Dao families turned out to be more fragile than they appeared, akin to ornate pillows stuffed only with straw.
Just as Fang Lin had predicted, the East Pole Heaven King took a risky gamble but managed to succeed against the odds, setting the Pill Alliance on a path of recovery.
Of course, the East Pole Heaven King could not have predicted the many unforeseen setbacks in this Pill Dao competition.
But ultimately, the result was favorable for the Pill Alliance.
Or perhaps it could be said that this outcome was beneficial not only for the Pill Dao world of the Nine Countries but also for all Pill Refiners under heaven.

In the Tiankui Pavilion, the retired Elder Tiankui still resided in seclusion. He rarely interacted with members of the Pill Alliance, and even for a major event like the competition between the Pill Alliance and the Pill Dao families, Elder Tiankui did not leave the pavilion to spectate.
In the Tiankui Pavilion, Ye Mengxian, dressed in a white gown, gazed absentmindedly into the distance, her thoughts wandering to unknown places.
Not far away, Elder Tiankui held a white rabbit in his arms, his expression unfathomable and tranquil as still water.
“I wonder how Fang Lin is doing now. Taken away by the people from the Sealing Sword Pavilion…it’s likely a dire situation,” Ye Mengxian muttered to herself, glancing back at her grandfather.
Elder Tiankui replied, “The people of the Sealing Sword Pavilion abducted Xu Yanbing and Fang Lin likely because they saw value in them. If that’s the case, they are probably not in immediate danger.”
Ye Mengxian nodded, finding her grandfather’s reasoning logical.
“Grandfather, does the East Pole Heaven King hope for you to come out of retirement?” Ye Mengxian suddenly asked.
Hearing this, Elder Tiankui’s face revealed a trace of complexity. “The Heaven King has indeed approached me, but I haven’t given him an answer yet.”
Ye Mengxian furrowed her elegant brows upon hearing this. “Since you’ve already retired from the Pill Alliance and withdrawn from its affairs, they shouldn’t come to trouble you anymore.”
Elder Tiankui chuckled. “Though I retired, most of my life’s efforts are tied to the Pill Alliance. Even in retirement, it remains deeply connected to me—I can’t truly sever that bond.”
Ye Mengxian fell into silence, unable to refute her grandfather’s words.
Indeed, Ye Mengxian understood that as one of the former Eight Great Elders, her grandfather could never truly abandon the Pill Alliance. Even in seclusion, he likely thought about it constantly.
To be honest, Ye Mengxian felt the same. Growing up in the Pill Alliance, she had once harbored resentment toward it, yet ultimately, she found herself unable to let it go.
“The Pill Alliance is no longer what it once was. The filth is gone, and it has been reborn. Perhaps it is time for these old bones of mine to contribute once more,” Elder Tiankui said with deep emotion.
“Just because the Pill Alliance won against the Pill Dao families this time, you’re convinced it can rise anew?” Ye Mengxian asked skeptically. After all, the Pill Alliance remained significantly weakened; only the East Pole Heaven King was still supporting it among the Four Heaven Kings, and only three or four of the Eight Great Elders remained. As for the number of leaders and Pill Refiners in the alliance, it couldn’t begin to compare to its former glory.
Setting the soft white rabbit down, Elder Tiankui allowed it to roam freely on the ground. He then stood and approached Ye Mengxian.
“The Pill Dao world needs the current Pill Alliance. It provides an opportunity for Pill Refiners across the land to rise. The old Pill Alliance fell short in this regard because it was impure. The current Pill Alliance, though weaker than before, is much cleaner,” Elder Tiankui explained.
Looking at her grandfather, Ye Mengxian saw a rare expression of contentment and hope on his face—something she hadn’t seen in years.
“What about the Pill Dao families? They are currently the Pill Alliance’s greatest rival and are stronger than the Pill Alliance,” Ye Mengxian asked.
Elder Tiankui let out a derisive chuckle. “The Pill Dao families? Those who only care about their own interests will never amount to much. Even if Dragon Haotian had godlike abilities, he couldn’t overcome the inherent flaws passed down through the family legacies. If the Pill Dao world is truly dominated by the Pill Dao families, Pill Refiners across the land would have no real future.”
“Are you saying, grandfather, that the Pill Dao families can’t maintain their dominance for long?” Ye Mengxian asked, a trace of surprise appearing on her face as she grasped his meaning.
Elder Tiankui nodded with a deepened smile. “The existence of the Pill Dao families is an anomaly. They cannot go against the tides of destiny; in the end, they will be drowned by the will of the people.”

Fang Lin stood at the edge of an enormous Pill Furnace, his expression strange, his thoughts even stranger.
He had made a discovery: the massive pill furnace beneath his feet, as large as a mountain, was brimming with overwhelmingly potent Cauldron Qi.
As he secretly channeled the Nine Cauldron Skypassing Spell, he found himself able to absorb the immense Cauldron Qi contained within the massive Pill Furnace without making a sound.
“Could this actually be an opportunity for me? If I can absorb enough Cauldron Qi, I might be able to break through to the mid Minor Longevity stage—or even reach the high stage and touch the threshold of Great Longevity,” Fang Lin mused silently as he pretended to inspect the inside of the Pill Furnace while stealthily operating the Nine Cauldron Skypassing Spell to siphon its abundant Cauldron Qi.
ps: The second update is here. I’ll keep writing. I’ve just arrived home, and my feet are so stiff from walking—it feels like I’ve walked more in the past few days than in the entire year combined.
