Chapter 1719: Chapter 1816: Domineering Woman

Fang Lin glanced at the young woman. Her appearance was rather decent, but that superior tone of hers made Fang Lin quite unhappy.

“Don’t be disrespectful!” The old man with a large mole on his face scolded, causing the woman to purse her lips. Her gaze toward Fang Lin still carried disdain.

The old man offered a slightly apologetic fist salute toward Fang Lin. “Young friend, please forgive her. My disciple was far too rude.”

Fang Lin waved his hand. “It’s nothing. I’ve met plenty of people like this before—I’m used to it.”

The old man’s expression stiffened, and the young woman instantly erupted in anger, pointing at Fang Lin. “What did you say? What kind of person do you think I am? Explain yourself clearly!”

Fang Lin grinned. “Why don’t you tell me what kind of person you think you are?”

The woman’s gaze grew frosty. She was known for her fiery temper and was quick to anger, combined with her distinguished upbringing that fostered arrogance.

Fang Lin’s remark was clearly a jab at her character, and she was sharp enough to understand his sarcasm.

The four men standing nearby regarded Fang Lin differently. Although they belonged to the same sect as the young woman, under the same master, she typically belittled them and treated them rudely. They had long held their frustration inside; if not for the woman’s powerful family background, they might have already fallen out with her.

“Master, this person insulted me. What do you think should be done?” The woman looked toward the old man.

The old man felt a headache coming on. He was at a loss with this particular disciple—no matter how much he reprimanded her, there were some things he couldn’t say outright.

“You truly are amusing, young lady. When did I insult you? Judging by your appearance, you’re no more than twenty-something. How can your temper be this terrible?” Fang Lin said with a mischievous smile.

Hearing this, the woman was even angrier. She raised her hand, attempting to slap Fang Lin.

But before the slap landed, the old man grabbed her wrist, stopping her action.

“Are you now disobeying even your master?” The old man shouted angrily. His patience was wearing thin after his disciple repeatedly caused problems.

The woman sneered but refrained from acting further out of respect for her master. However, her gaze toward Fang Lin remained hostile.

The old man turned to Fang Lin, bowing and apologizing once more. Fang Lin simply responded with a faint smile.

“Earlier, I saw you amidst the Deadly Mist. May I ask, how did you manage that?” The old man couldn’t suppress his curiosity and finally posed the question he’d been dying to ask.

Fang Lin chuckled upon hearing this. “You call it Deadly Mist? Quite a fitting name.”

The old man sighed. “The mist appeared very suddenly nearby, causing countless fatalities, especially in Yun Country, where bodies have nearly piled into mountains.”

Fang Lin patted his Nine Palace Bag, extracting a pill as he spoke. “I relied on this pill to remain unharmed within the mist.”

The old man, excusing his boldness, accepted the pill from Fang Lin and examined it closely. His face soon showed utter shock.

“This appears to be a fifth-grade Detoxification Pill,” the old man exclaimed, astonished.

Fang Lin nodded. It was indeed a fifth-grade Detoxification Pill.

Everyone, including the woman and the old man’s four disciples, showed expressions of astonishment. They had assumed that Fang Lin might carry pills, but likely of inferior quality—never did they expect him to possess a fifth-grade Detoxification Pill, a rarity others could only dream of.

“Looking at your shabby appearance, how could you possibly own a fifth-grade Detoxification Pill? Did you steal it?” the woman said in a yin-yang mocking tone.

Fang Lin smiled at her, then swung his fist directly at her without hesitation.

A loud “bang” echoed as Fang Lin’s punch landed squarely on the woman’s face, sending her sprawling to the ground.

Though Fang Lin had not used his full strength, if he had, her skull might very well have shattered.

Even so, the woman did not escape unscathed. Blood dripped from her mouth and nose, her teeth scattered on the ground. Her once-decent looks were now thoroughly disfigured.

“Ah!!!” Screaming hysterically, the woman—spoiled since childhood and accustomed to hitting others rather than being hit herself—was wholly stunned by this swift punch to her face.

Both the old man and the four male disciples were equally shocked at Fang Lin’s sudden attack. None of them had even seen the motion of his strike—it was too fast.

Although the woman had always been a source of great annoyance to both the old man and her peers, she remained the old man’s disciple. His expression turned grim, and the four men also fixed their hostile gazes on Fang Lin.

“Kill him! I want him dead!” the woman shrieked incessantly, consumed by rage and pain, vowing to dismember Fang Lin’s remains.

“Wasn’t that a bit excessive?” The old man said in a deep voice, standing up for his disciple despite her faults.

Fang Lin smiled faintly. “If I recall correctly, your name is Liu Zhou, isn’t it?”

The old man was startled. It was odd—how did the young man know his name?

“How do you know my name?” Liu Zhou asked, his brows furrowing in suspicion. Something about this youth seemed very peculiar.

Fang Lin looked directly at him. “I once saw you at the Pill Alliance Master Meeting.”

At the mention of the Master Meeting, Liu Zhou’s expression became even more shocked. The meeting was exclusively attended by genuine Five Cauldrons Alchemy Tao masters. Did this mean the young man before him was also a master-level figure who had participated in the renowned gathering?

“Who are you?” Liu Zhou asked, his voice tinged with apprehension as he tried to deduce Fang Lin’s identity.

“Liu Zhou, you’re considered a fairly prominent master in the Pill Alliance, but your choice in disciples is thoroughly disappointing. Sometimes a person’s disposition matters far more than their talent. Look at the disciple you’ve accepted—there’s every chance she might betray her master someday.” Fang Lin gestured to the woman still writhing on the ground, clutching her face in anguish.

The old man’s expression alternated between anger and contemplation. He was well aware of the woman’s serious character flaws, but given her influential family background, he’d reluctantly taken her as a disciple, hoping to guide her toward improvement over time.

“Master, kill him for me! I’ll ask my father to reward you with two thousand-year-old ancient medicinal herbs!” The woman glared venomously at Fang Lin while addressing Liu Zhou.

“Silence!” Liu Zhou roared, his outburst rendering the woman momentarily frozen.
