Chapter 1738: Chapter 1835: Silver-Haired Elder

Sun Yunling’s words plunged Dugu Nian into silence.

Just as Sun Yunling said, because of the battle in the Extreme North Land, although the Hidden Kill Hall lost many experts, it was still the Hidden Kill Hall. No one knew just how many experts were hidden within this behemoth, or how deep its foundations truly were.

Dugu Nian and others from the Sky Swallowing Palace had previously underestimated the Hidden Kill Hall, thinking it was nothing special and believing that the Sky Swallowing Palace could completely overpower it.

But now it seemed they had oversimplified Hidden Kill Hall’s complexity.

The Nine Countries had attempted more than once to besiege the Hidden Kill Hall without success, not without reason; the power of the Hidden Kill Hall was indeed terrifying.

The presence of Sun Yunling before them was the best proof of this. Just one person from their ranks was enough to make even the best experts of the Sky Swallowing Palace feel helpless, and judging by Sun Yunling’s tone, there were even more powerful beings than him within the Hidden Kill Hall.

For Dugu Nian and the others, this was indeed unwelcome news, making them feel increasingly uneasy.

If Sun Yunling alone was so formidable, how terrifying would someone stronger than him be?

“Telling you all this is just so you don’t die without knowing why. I am not fond of killing, but there’s no choice—you killed Ye Hongchen, so I can only kill you,” Sun Yunling said nonchalantly.

Boom!!!

A domineering punch roared towards Dugu Nian.

In Sun Yunling’s view, if he could just kill the Hall Master of the Sky Swallowing Palace, then the rest were nothing but a bunch of worthless beings, easily wiped out with a flick of the wrist.

Even though Dugu Nian knew she was no match for Sun Yunling, she refused to retreat, using her Tao of the Zither martial arts over and over to deal significant blows to Sun Yunling.

“It’s useless! You cannot kill me; no one can kill me!” Sun Yunling laughed, as strange red patterns on his face became even more eerie.

Dugu Nian forced down the blood rising in her throat, showing a feeling of powerlessness in her eyes.

Since reaching the Immortal realm, she had never felt so powerless. After all, being Immortal in this era made one among the strongest; whether Nine Countries or Seven Seas, Immortals were few and far between.

But today, faced with this unkillable Sun Yunling, Dugu Nian felt profoundly helpless.

As injuries piled on, Dugu Nian’s condition worsened. Even though her Immortal cultivation allowed her to heal continuously, it was no match for Sun Yunling’s Immortal Body—utterly incomparable.

Just then, Sun Yunling suddenly stopped and looked up sharply at the sky.

Dugu Nian and Jian Angxing felt it too, looking upward, they saw a hazy figure standing among the clouds.

None of them could see the figure’s true appearance, only faintly noticing the person seemed to have long silvery-gray hair swaying in the strong wind.

“No one can kill you? Don’t be so arrogant; there are quite a few in this era who can do so.” A somewhat aged voice resonated, dripping with disdain and mockery towards Sun Yunling.

Sun Yunling frowned, an inexplicable sense of unease creeping into his heart.

Nonetheless, he calmed himself, confident in his Immortal Body. Even faced with a stronger opponent, he believed he could remain undefeated.

As long as he couldn’t be killed, his opponent would inevitably face defeat.

Moreover, Sun Yunling suspected the one hiding in the clouds, employing such mystifying tactics, was probably from the Sky Swallowing Palace trying to intimidate him.

“Ha ha, the nerve to speak so boldly when you don’t even dare show your face,” Sun Yunling sneered.

But before he finished, a finger condensed entirely from Demon Qi descended from the sky toward him.

This Demon Qi finger did not appear particularly powerful, yet it gave Sun Yunling a terrifying sense of impending death.

Sun Yunling thrust both palms forward, attempting to fend off the finger, to no avail; his palms were effortlessly pierced, and the finger then pierced through his heart.

Splurt!!!

A bloody hole appeared in Sun Yunling’s body, puncturing him front to back, with blood gushing uncontrollably, showing no sign of healing.

Sun Yunling looked down at the hole in his heart, his face full of shock.

“How can you…” Sun Yunling murmured, incredulous. He possessed an Immortal Body; no matter how severe the wound, it should recover instantly.

Yet now, blood continued to flow from his heart, impossible to heal.

“You thought that a few gifts from that person made you truly immortal? How laughable.” The aged voice echoed again as a burst of red light swept forth, laden with dense Demon Qi, as if an ancient, colossal demon was about to swallow the world.

The red light flashed, and Sun Yunling didn’t even have time to react before his head was severed from his body.

His head rolling to the ground, Sun Yunling was still alive, but was aghast to find his head couldn’t be reattached to his body; an unprecedented situation that left him flustered.

“I’ve only used a finger and a sword, and you’re already near death. If I use another sword to sever your soul with your head, do you think you could survive?” The figure atop the clouds spoke.

For the first time, Sun Yunling showed fear, never having feared death due to his Immortal Body, but now, truly facing death, he was afraid.

“Who are you?” Sun Yunling roared, a mask of anger barely concealing his fear.

“Insect, you are unworthy to know my name,” the disdainful voice rang out again, as another red light fell, aiming straight for Sun Yunling’s head, evidently intending to finish him.

Dugu Nian and others watched in shock as this mysterious master easily reduced the once invincible Sun Yunling to such a state, now seemingly about to take his life.

Though unaware of who this mysterious master was, their appearance here and attack on Sun Yunling suggested they were unlikely to be an enemy.

Just when the red light was about to kill Sun Yunling, a bizarre eyeball shot from his body, transforming into an indistinct figure, blocking the red light.

“You finally decided to show yourself.” A cold laugh sounded as a silver-haired elder, holding a blood-colored longsword, landed before the mysterious eyeball figure.
