The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1496 - 1496: Luring Them Out

Across acres of rock formations with identical structures and materials, finding the hidden special Voidal Knights seemed hopeless. It would take time, a very long time—days even if those monsters were bent on hiding their presence.

Countless spots to hide in and certainly a lot of hidden places.

Now, with the swarm of Rock-tailed Mouse, the task became even more hopeless.

Having a support-type Soul Artifact with sensory ability might help, but there were none amongst them.

Rex has probed the heirs’ strength, he knew each one of their Soul Artifacts—and other than Hannah’s, who has a defense-type, the others have attack-type Soul Artifacts. No items in their possession—that could help either.

For many, the situation was hopeless with no way out.

“Lure it out? How?” Taylan blurted hurriedly.

“It has decided to swarm us with its minions,” Hannah added with urgency. “It won’t come out.”

“Even if we unleash our full life energy, it won’t be easily lured,” Raiko added.

None of the three seemed to know what Rex meant by luring it.

Everyone was clueless other than April.

“I can help you with it,” April said after a brief pause, then turned to Rex. “My Spirit Genesis is potent.”

Other than April, Linthia, and Viora, the others didn’t know what she was talking about.

Her Spirit Genesis is potent? So what?

Her Spirit Genesis doesn’t have a sensory ability, so what does it have to do with helping their situation?

She’s sharp. No wonder she’s the strongest.

Rex turned to April, amused with this young spirit who showed promise.

Nodding slowly, as the march of the swarm approaches, Rex explained, “Even though they were hiding, fixed on killing us with their minions, they were still living entities. Perhaps their intelligence was not as high as ours. But that only made it easier to lure them out, we only need to aim—where they would no doubt understand despite their low intelligence. This is their home.”

Then, Rex stepped forward, his aura marching to the sky overbearingly.

“What would you do if someone barged into your house and ransacked everything?” Linthia added when she noticed the heirs were still at a loss, and when she said that, all of them understood almost instantly, knowing exactly how they would react. “Exactly.”

Swish!

Once again, Rex called forth the spilled blood and gathered it into his red fingernails.

<Notice: The Red Dawn of Kaiser’s limitations has been neutralized!>

Just like earlier, he prepared to unleash the Inevitable Death.

Rex deliberately made the Inevitable Death an enhancement ability instead of a pure attacking ability.

In the description, it was said it enhanced the Minor Law of Inevitability.

As long as the attack was infused with the intent to cause lethal, irreparable damage, he could enhance it with the Inevitable Death. Due to that, the type of attack could vary. From grasping someone’s heart directly to crush it or creating a powerful arc that could slice through everything, this ability has endless varieties.

And at this moment, his goal was one thing—destruction.

“Hup!”

Rex leaped skyward, the backdrop of the Black Rift was on full display behind him, enhancing the red aura that his body was emanating. He pointed his right hand skyward, charging as much life energy as he possibly could.

It was a beautiful sight, a mesmerizing sight—to think an Immortal Spirit could be this powerful.

“I dare say… His talent… It’s not second to Princess Davina,” Taylan uttered in cold breath.

Despite having the pride of blue bloods, the others also agreed with that statement.

This nobody, this man of unknown origin—he would shock the entire empire.

Even Viora watched this with sparkling eyes, she was hoping to see how she or the other geniuses would fare against the supposed Candidate for Invincibility who came to this realm recently. Not even a month, and he was already this powerful.

Such was the visible gap between a non-candidate and a candidate.

Once Rex was ready, he pointed his hand downward.

Under the brilliant light coming from the palm of his hand, shaping like a full moon, the swarm’s gaze turned towards him as all screeched in unison. But Rex didn’t care, he kept pouring life energy until he couldn’t.

“Spirit Genesis: Inevitable Death!”

Swish!

In that instant, a red beam was unleashed from his palm.

Nothing could stop it as it slammed onto the ground, leaving behind a massive red full moon mark.

All Voidal Pawns turned to look at the mark.

It was sizzling, it was glowing, gradually becoming more intense by the second until it exploded.

Kaboom!!

A nuke-like explosion shook the entire area, shattering and flattening most of the rock formations at the heart of this Rocky Puzzle. Its height created a mushroom shape as the mangled limbs and organs of all the Rock-tailed Mice flew everywhere.

Covering her face with her arm, April frowned slightly.

She never felt so weak before.

She’s at the Immortal Spirit 5 rank—capable of holding her own against some Master Immortal Spirits, and yet, there’s no way—she could match that kind of power. In terms of destructiveness, Rex was in a league of his own.

Once the explosion’s shockwave dissipated, the aftermath became visible.

At the very least, fifty rock formations the size of buildings were flattened, turned into rubble.

Rex’s Spirit Genesis left behind a flat spot at the center of Rocky Puzzle.

Unlike the others who were drowned in shock, April fought the shock that was stiffening her body and made her move. Decisively, she leaped from one rock formation to the other, heading west from where the others were.

As soon as she reached a good distance away, she leaped down to the ground.

Landing firmly on her feet, she bent one knee—and lowered her stance with her black nodachi pressed against her waist. April closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, pushing away all distractions. Once she was ready, she opened her eyes.

Her crowned helmet dissipated, letting her raven-black hair sway with the wind’s rhythm.

Once the helmet was off, her pale blue eyes, nearly devoid of color, that carried an icy detachment that made her seem almost blind, were exposed. And her face, a cold and composed exterior, made her feel like she was bored.

A kind of woman who barely showed more than one expression.

Soon, a real, royal blue crown manifested—it was her Soul Artifact.

April channeled the might from the crown into her nodachi, causing it to glow with an ethereal light.

Her stance got lower and lower as more life energy charged into her nodachi.

“Spirit Genesis: Imperial Severance”

Swish!

Once she chanted her Spirit Genesis, she swung horizontally—the blade left behind a crescent-shaped slash of pure energy that suspended in the air—before homing forward. Instead of causing destruction, the slash passed through the rock formation in front of her and continued further.

April nodded her head before she leaped back to the top, before she was attacked.

As she landed on the peak of the rock formations and sheathed her nodachi, a loud crash rang.

Behind her, in a straight line, twenty rock formations tilted and crumbled onto the ground.

She flicked her hair courteously as her crowned helmet returned, covering her face once again.

Seeing the destruction of more than a dozen rock formations to the side, along with more rock formations crumbling from Linthia’s Spirit Genesis on the other side, the other heirs finally snapped—from their daze and spread out.

In the next second, their Spirit Genesis decimated the Rocky Puzzle.

Rex watched the view with his arms crossed.

“I may not be able to defeat these two Voidal Knights alone, not unless I can transform, but with their help—there shouldn’t be a problem,” Rex nodded firmly. Only April and Riko were as strong—or even stronger than Istvan, but that should be more than enough. “Now, how long are you going to hide? Show yourself,”

Then, Rex’s eyes snapped to a peculiar spot.

He sensed a chilling air coming from that spot, one that his acute senses caught.

Rex turned around and faced Crimoria and her soldiers.

“If you don’t have any intention to help, don’t get in the way. Move.” He said—and strode to the middle of the rock formation top he was on. Nonchalantly, he flared his aura again, this time keeping a constant flow instead of activating his ability. “You too, Priestess Viora”

“Understood.” Viora nodded and flew away.

Rumble!

As soon as all of them moved away, Rex heard a rough, scraping sound that was gradually approaching him as the rock formation beneath his feet rumbled. Then, the area around him was suddenly shrouded in a shadow.

Glancing over his shoulder, he saw a massive snake creature towering above him.

“Ah… So it’s a bully,” Rex smirked and turned around.

<Terra the Seismic Serpent>

Race: Voidal Knight (Special)

Power: Immortal Spirit 5 (Third Circle)

Soul Artifact: Quaking Heart – S-grade (Hybrid-type)

Echo: Earth Beast

Spiritual Points: 440,000

Strength: 1,100,250

Agility: 711,000

Endurance: 1,300,100 (+200,000)

Danger Zone: Fangs and Tail.

Considering the Voidal Pawns inhabiting the area—were mice monsters, Rex anticipated some kind of beasts in mind, and a serpent was one of them. All of the Rock-tailed Mouse wasn’t bowing down to the owner of this place because they were united like the Three-faced Leecher and the squid monsters.

Instead, the mice were afraid of this serpent.

Perhaps that was the reason none of them were afraid even when Rex obliterated them easily.

For them, death from being sliced was a lot better than being eaten.

“Not as strong as the Three-faced Leecher and I can’t transform,” Rex mumbled to himself—while he summoned his Red Dawn of Kaiser and Aegis of Moon Sentinel. “I’d say we’re about even in strength, what do you think?”

Despite being a monster, it could tell that Rex was mocking it.

HISS!!

Angered at this small creature that dared to cause a ruckus in its home, the serpent lunged.

In the serpent’s eyes, Rex looked frail and weak, barely a challenge, barely an Immortal Spirit.

It couldn’t understand how he had the bravery to come here.

Behind its forceful movement was the full power of the pinnacle of Immortal Spirit rank.

It tried to headbutt Rex, an attack like that should easily crush Rex’s bones and kill him on the spot, but as its head collided, it was surprised when it was stopped dead—in its tracks. At that moment, struggling to push ahead, the serpent’s reptilian pupils slitted further.

Rex’s golden halo stopped its charge, and for some reason, its headbutt slipped to the side.

For some reason, the Minor Law of Misdirection worked wonders against this serpent.

Now, Rex doesn’t look frail and weak anymore.

Hiss!

Yanking its head back, the serpent towered skyward, opened its maw, and dived again.

At the same time, Linthia came from behind with her wings spread.

“Spirit Genesis: Canopy of Light Forest!”

Swish!

Just like her display of power earlier, ten branches of life energy burst forth from her wings, but unlike the ones before, these branches were not dark, they were glowing with brilliant light. All spreads to the side, their light blinding the serpent as it crashed against the ground.

As the light dissipated, the serpent blinked and adjusted to the surroundings.

It only found that it had missed—Rex and Linthia were nowhere to be seen.

Then, its instincts forced it to look upwards, and there it saw Rex with his fists clasped together into a hammer, charged with another Inevitable Death—his last one. Before the serpent could move, Rex had already slammed his fists onto its head hard.

Bam!

His muscles bulged as he put everything he had into this attack.

Cracks formed almost instantly across the serpent’s rock-hard skin, piercing through its defense.

Rex was surprised when he saw this.

Possessing a Minor Law is quite devastating, I didn’t expect to crack its skin with one strike.

In retaliation, the serpent whipped its head and flicked Rex away.

Linthia caught him in time and helped him land on the top once again.

Once he was on his feet again, the serpent’s eyes glared at him with rage and hatred.

And this made Rex smile, “Don’t only focus on me, your opponents aren’t only me.”

It was then, the heirs appeared and attacked the serpent from all sides.

Rex didn’t join and only crossed his arms—with its skin cracked, the heirs should be able to finish it.
