The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1551 - 1551: Luna and the Left Hand

“Siege it…?”

Valkis paused, his forehead creased in confusion, not expecting this to be the case.

From the way Evelyn phrased this new, updated information, he was certain that she would ask him to destroy Imla City. Giving the enemy time would only risk them completing their fortress, so naturally, Imla City must be destroyed quickly.

But instead, Evelyn asked him to siege it.

“Lady Evelyn, did you perhaps say it wrong? Don’t you mean destroy it?”

“No, I didn’t make any mistake.”

Evelyn averted her gaze, focusing on the battle map again.

Confused as to how she reached to this conclusion, Valkis went around the table and stood beside her.

“If we siege the city, we would only be giving our enemy time to finish their fortress. Aren’t we setting ourselves up for failure? You said it yourself, if that fortress is finished, we’re going to suffer immense casualties…”

“Said?”

“I-I meant you implied it like that.”

Seeing how stressed Valkis was, a sweet smile crossed Evelyn’s lips.

“Yes, I know that would happen. But I have my own plan. As you implied… with your reaction, it was rare for this many Alpha Primes to gather at one place, and I’m intending to use it.”

Valkis’ expression eased a bit.

He now knew that Evelyn had an idea that would give them the advantage, and from the looks of it, she wasn’t going to share it to him. Perhaps, the plan would be quite risky, one that everyone would find hard to believe.

Regardless, it wasn’t Valkis’ position to question the Luna.

‘I’m sure there’s a reason why the Royal Black Prince assigned her to lead us instead of himself.’

From what he heard, the Royal Black Prince was handling personal matters back in the capital city.

As for the ‘Rex’ who was present here, he was nothing more than a clone.

Not a lot of people knew about that, but Valkis was one of the people who knew.

It was surprising to see the Luna leading them herself, but it was certainly for a reason.

“I…” Valkis stammered, thinking of an excuse. “I still need a reason to give to our soldiers.”

Upon hearing this, Evelyn pivoted her body to face Valkis.

Almost out of instinct, Valkis also turned to face her and straightened his back.

Putting on an assuring smile, Evelyn reached out both hands and embraced Valkis’ face.

Both of her eyes shifted from fiery red to a beautiful violet—the color of the Luna energy that swirled like a vortex that could suck in any Werewolves into the dreamworld, “Believe in your Great Luna, that is what you will say to them. Is that going to be enough…?”

Blinking his eyes, Valkis immediately went down on one knee.

“It’s more than enough,” He answered decisively. “I will make sure everything went smoothly.”

“I know I can count on you,” Evelyn smiled elegantly before turning to the battle map again. “Go.”

Valkis excused himself and left the hut.

Once Evelyn was alone, she stopped what she was doing, closed her eyes, and exhaled deeply from her nose. She could hear the entity inside her earrings praising her for today’s work, but that didn’t give her any sense of achievement.

It was exhausting.

Not physically, but mentally.

“I’ve made hard decisions before, but this…” Evelyn mumbled and gazed ahead, peering through the open hut door, viewing the soldiers running around to gather at the main field. “It’s a lot harder. Rex… I’ve not dotted on you enough.”

“You should’ve left these things to me.”

Out of nowhere, a familiar voice echoed suddenly.

Evelyn wasn’t startled; she seemed to already sense the person before he even spoke.

Ahead, the securing hook slipped free with a soft clink, and the hut’s blind fell back into place.

Only then did the figure emerge from the dark corner of the hut.

It was Kyran.

“I’m the Luna. I’m the face of the pack right now. How can I even hand it to you?” Evelyn argued.

Kyran didn’t answer.

He approached the table and looked at the battle map with his sharp eyes, now more mature than ever.

“I must say, you’re getting quite good at being the Luna,” Kyran commented, casting a glance at her. “I think Rex’s absence has developed you further. You easily controlled Valkis—and the other important Alpha Primes, and you were even able to come up with that plan.”

“I can say the same thing to you,” Evelyn met Kyran’s gaze head-on.

“What did Rex say to you? You didn’t even seem bothered by what you’re doing.”

“It’s because of a certain someone getting hurt in the Dark Elf Kingdom that I got some practice.”

“Rex and his temper…”

“No, it’s not because he has a temper.”

Kyran shook his head and turned away as he leaned against the table and crossed his arms.

“I’m sure you heard it already, but Naela got hurt recently, because of my negligence.”

“I heard… An Angel got to her. But it’s not really your fault. An Angel being near is an odd occurrence.”

Evelyn rubbed his shoulder gently to assure him.

“It’s still my fault, I let her out of my sight, and she got hurt.”

“She’s a capable woman. You can’t keep an eye on her twenty-four seven, and you shouldn’t have to.”

Kyran clenched his jaw.

On one hand, he understood that it wasn’t entirely his fault, but still, he couldn’t help but blame himself as he was there to prevent her from going on ahead for too far. But then again, this feeling was the only reason he brought this up.

“Anyway, since that happened to Naela, I think I’m starting to understand—what Rex felt. He doesn’t have a temper, at least not like what you think. His obsession with protecting those close to him wasn’t because he was afraid you’ll get hurt.”

“Hmm? What do you mean?”

From Evelyn’s view, Rex was adamant about protecting them because he was afraid they would get hurt.

What else could be the reason other than that?

Kyran smiled a little as he now began to really understand what Rex was going through.

“He’s afraid of what he’ll become if he ever loses you. Just think of him like an ember buried in ash. His mother’s death stirred the wind and caused it to glow again. Now, the fire’s rising, and if you’re gone, the wind blows harder, and it won’t go out—it’ll spread. He’s afraid that it won’t stop… and neither will he.”

For a second there, Evelyn was stunned.

Kyran’s metaphor was so vivid that she believed it if he said that he began to understand Rex.

She digested what he said, and then couldn’t help but question.

“What are you trying to say?”

“I’m saying that you, getting stronger, is not the only thing that would ease him. If you want to make him happier, show him that you’re going to be fine. Anything will do. As long as he can be assured that you’re safer even when he’s not around by it, he’ll certainly be happier.”

Upon hearing this, Evelyn smiled lightly and nodded, “I’ll keep that in mind, thank you.”

“No need to thank me,” Kyran shook his head and put his hands inside his pockets. “I’m only telling this to you for his sake, since you’re now taking risks. And… Rex is probably going to bring back another woman from the Spirit Realm, so I’m helping you reinforce your position.”

“It’s going to be a hassle if the next woman is as troublesome as Calidora.” He added humorously.

Kyran laughed a little after he said those things.

He sensed Rex’s connection earlier, and he seemed to be more relaxed than ever.

Clearly, someone is soothing him there.

At that moment, an angry vein bulged on Evelyn’s forehead.

Her feelings towards Kyran shifted completely from thankful to flabbergasted.

“Kyran… You’re lucky that we’re in public…” Evelyn said through gritted teeth.

Seeing her aura flaring, Kyran raised his hands, “I’m kidding! I’m kidding! Why are you so sensitive?”

“Eurgh…” Evelyn groaned and massaged her forehead. “Anyway, we are getting sidetracked. I need you to do the same thing as you did. Eleven Alpha Primes gathered in Imla City. Find the strongest one and make sure they fall under my rule.”

“You got it,” Kyran saluted. “Rex groomed me for this, so you can leave it to me…”

As soon as he said that, he vanished once again.

Meanwhile, outside near the main field, Valkis was stopped by another Werewolf, Mavok.

“What did the Luna ask you to do?” He asked curiously.

“She wanted me to lead a portion of the army to siege Imla City. I’ll be focusing my men on the backside of the city, cutting off their route to the unfinished fortress,” Valkis answered decisively, already had a plan before reaching the city.

“Hmm? Not destroy it?”

“I also reacted the same way, but she insisted on besieging the city.”

“Did you ask why?”

“No, but we should trust her. We’ve made so much progress in a day because of her.”

Not even waiting for Mavok to form a reply, Valkis walked past him, heading to the main field.

On the other hand, Mavok stood rooted on his spot.

His gaze drifted toward the main hut where Evelyn was, just in time to catch the wind shift unnaturally, as though something invisible had just swept past. Mavok exhaled slowly, and his King Mark pulsed with power, glowing a deep, ominous red.

‘Nadrona wouldn’t surrender like that,’ Mavok thought inside, curious as to the method Evelyn used to make even Nadrona surrender. ‘His face… I’ve never seen him wear that kind of face. It’s like he has gone through hell and back.’

As soon as his King Mark was active, he cast a Moon Ability.

One that he even rarely used.

“Bloom Moon Eye…”

Mavok turned to look around, trying to find this invisible person.

All of the people around him now turned into a collective connection of blood vessels.

It was the Moon Ability’s effect, allowing him to see through blood and energy flow with precision.

To his surprise, he spotted a figure slipped beneath the ground, gliding past the entire camp unnoticed.

But as quickly as he noticed, the figure halted and turned in his direction.

Instinct kicked in.

Mavok deactivated his King Mark and snapped his gaze away, just before their eyes could meet.

‘That person is incredibly sharp,’ Mavok thought inside, a bead of cold sweat drizzling down the side of his face. ‘He’s sharper than anyone I know. To think he was able to notice me staring—in a second… Who is this person?’

After a couple more seconds, the figure finally turned away and continued ahead.

Only then did Mavok breathe easily.

Throughout the entire ordeal, waiting for the figure to turn away, he unconsciously held his breath.

As soon as he was in the clear, Evelyn stepped out of her hut.

She stood with her hands clasped in front of her elegantly, watching the soldiers gathering.

From that alone, Mavok understood one thing—whoever that figure he saw inside the ground, it must know Evelyn. And more than that, the figure was likely the one who had tipped the scales, making the conquest of the rebelling Alpha Primes easier than it should be.

Of course, there’s a chance that it might be the Royal Black Prince.

But considering that he sent Evelyn to handle matters here, it’s unlikely that the figure was him.

‘I need to know what Evelyn did,’ Mavok thought—as he turned, heading in the direction where that unknown figure was heading. ‘Even if whatever she did was surprising, at least I need to know exactly, or else I won’t be able to judge Evelyn’s character.’

Meanwhile, Dargena City.

Citizens of the city could be seen standing in front of their houses, confused, and clutching their kids.

On the street, soldiers could be seen moving around in pairs, going in and out of the houses.

Jarvald, with his new position as the Silverstar Pack’s Beta, oversaw the guards, walking along the street with his eyes scanning the surroundings, making sure that nothing was unchecked and unturned, “Move your legs faster! This is what you’re trained for, so don’t you dare show me a pitiful sight!”
