Chapter 3054: Main Agenda
The true world offered opportunities that the Divine Doctor was clearly enough to move him. Centuries of searching within the Panama Continent had yielded a scant few hints that barely gave him any insights into the true nature of the world.
“The manifold tree was one of the only clues I had about the illness afflicting Gaia,” he mused with a clinical tone. “It gave me the clue that the problem was of external origin. That some sort of agent had infiltrated Gaia and left her with an ailment.”
The clinical inhuman light in his eyes lit up with optimism.
“An infection. A virus. An alien problem that has caused her to suffer.”
The other immortal sages frowned at his spurious line of thought but didn’t push back as hard as they would have had it emerged from anybody else.
In terms of degree of expertise, the Divine Doctor was second bar none.
He was the eldest, most experienced, and was the most accomplished by virtue of all the time he had to accumulated knowledge, understanding, and experience. In that regard, the power of an immortal sage was generally connected to their age and experience. Younger immortal sages weren’t as vastly superior to their contemporary peers in their respective fields compared to older immortal sages.
While the Scrier was the leading historian and archaeologist in the world, she was not as far above other historians and archaeologists as the Divine Doctor was above authors, or as the Psycher was above other psychologists, or as the Beggar Sages was above other intelligence brokers.
She pondered his words.
“…If the manifold tree that created the Panama Manifold was an alien lifeform then it might be the case that the Great Singularity is an event triggered by a phenomenon that came from else where,” the Scrier murmured with uncertainty. “It might be the case that a meteorite brought with it life from another planet that included all the esoteric substances we see in the world today along with a manifold tree, crashing into the Panama Continent and drowning it in a manifold.”
If that was the case, then it could very well be the case that all of everything on the Panama Continent was alien nature.
Not alien in the sense that it came from the true world.
But alien in the sense that it came from deep in the cosmos.
The Scrier turned towards the Astronmind with a determined expression.
“I need your help.”
The Astromind narrowed his eyes.
“You want me to help you understand if this Great Singularity event that you have hypothesized with no proof is of alien origin by relying on my astronomy infrastructure.”
She nodded with a serious expression.
“If the truth about what happened to our continent and our planet lies in outer space, then we will need to study the universe if we have any hopes of understanding the truth of what has happened.”
The Divine Doctor’s clinical eyes shifted to the Astromind.
“I second that initiative. I believe that the manifold is connected to the condition that afflicts Gaia. And thus, given that it is of alien origin, I will need to know where it came from. I have already had you search for it, and even though it failed, without the manifold impeding your vision into the universe, there’s a good chance that it will succeed this time.”
“I, too, wish to know where the alien lifeform came from,” the Ecologer murmured with a curious tone. “I wish to gain access to more Trees of Life to create a universal Tree of Life that describes all life there is and all life there can be.”
The Esoterist turned towards the Astromind with a nod. “If the hypothesized Great Singularity is the reason we have all these esoteric substances, then I, too, need to know more about it. I can never have enough esoteric matter.”
“I also need to know the truth,” the Beggar Sage glared holes into the Astromind, pressuring him.
They all stared at him with an expectant expression.
The Astromind heaved an exasperated sigh. “Fine! I any way need to go on a data-collecting spree for the next few years to gather new data on the universe without the impedance of the manifold, I will look out for all this stuff and flag any suspicious anomalies.”
Most of the immortal sages were invested in the past of the world since the truth of the world and the truth of their past were directly and indirectly responsible for virtually everything, impacting all of their fields in one way or another.
“With all that out of the way…” the Beggar Sage narrowed his eyes. “Let’s not forget the true reason that we have gathered here.”
The air grew heavy as he broached the most important agenda on their docket.
“Our continent is under a grave threat.”
The Beggar Sage’s tone left no doubt about the fact.
“We are dealing with civilizations that are vastly more technologically advanced than we are,” the Beggar Sage continued with a serious tone. “We have already confirmed the existence of powerful individual combatants, although they don’t appear to be Martial Artists per se. Worst of all, we have confirmed both imperialistic, colonial, and even genocidal intent.”
His aged eyes sharpened.
“If we do nothing, then we are bound to be destroyed.”
The atmosphere darkened.
It tingled with peril.
Each of the immortal sages was aware of what was at stake.
“The states and polities of the world have already begun moving, led by none other than the Emperor of Harmony himself,” the Beggar Sage continued. “They’re in good hands and in good leadership and are actively moving to enhance the power of human civilization in the long run. However, that alone will not be enough to enhance the probability of human civilization surviving.”
His sharp gaze swept across the immortal sages of human civilization.
“We will need to expand our numbers.”
His declaration was bold.
“This world… the true world… needs more immortal sages within it to bring out the very best of the human species.”
The air grew tense as the Beggar Sage broached the main agenda of the gathering.
